Facile adjustment of the behavior of dual cross-linked polymer-ionic liquid composites (PICs) for stretchable electronics was achieved solution blending of two copolymers having the same monomer pairs. Two poly(docosyl acrylate--butyl acrylate) (poly(A22-BA)) copolymers with different molar ratios were synthesized and solution-cast with ionic liquids (ILs) to fabricate ternary PICs. The phase behavior and the thermal and structural properties of the composites were investigated by varying the mixing ratio, providing insights into the cross-linking mechanisms.

Hydrogel-based scaffolds play a crucial role in widespread biotechnological applications by providing physicochemical stability to loaded cells or therapeutic agents, interacting with organismal microenvironments, and controlling cargo release. Polysaccharides are regarded as attractive candidates among substrate materials because of their high water-retaining capacity, reactive functional groups, ease of gelation, low immunogenicity, biodegradability, and biocompatibility. However, employing polysaccharide-based hydrogel scaffolds for practical use in response to ongoing physiological and pathological changes within the human body, such as insufficient mechanical strength, uncertain degradation, and uncontrollable release patterns, is challenging.

RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) play a crucial role in the biological processes of liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC). Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase H (PPIH), an RBP, possesses prolyl isomerase activity and functions as a protein chaperone. The relationship between PPIH and LIHC has not yet been fully elucidated.

Analyzing the concentration of ions in aqueous solutions in real-time plays an important role in the fields of chemistry and biology. Traditional methods for measuring ion concentrations, such as concentration analysis by measuring electrical conductivity, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, and ion chromatography, have been used in many research fields. However, these methods are limited in determining ion concentrations instantaneously.

This study presents the development of a β-hairpin (tryptophan zipper, Trpzip)-based molecular tweezer (MT) that can control the folding and binding of α-helical peptides. When an α-helix isolated from the p53 protein was conjugated with Trpzip in an optimized macrocyclic structure, the folded β-hairpin stabilized the helix conformation through the side chain-to-side chain stapling strategy, which notably enhanced target (hDM2) affinity of the peptide. On the other hand, the helicity and binding affinity were significantly reduced when the hairpin was unfolded by a redox stimulus.

Whilst the associations among age, body size, body (dis)satisfaction, and weight management behavior have been well documented, there is little research on how the combination of age and body size is related to body appreciation and health-related behavioral intentions. The purpose of this study is to identify the associations of age, body size, and their interactions with body appreciation and health-related behavioral intentions among Korean women. A cross-sectional research design was adopted with a convenience sampling method.

A new species of freshwater gammarid, , was collected from Somaemuldo Island, South Korea. This new species is morphologically characterised by the absence of calceoli in antenna 2, absence of anteroproximal setae on bases in pereopods 6 and 7, outer ramus in uropod 3 with plumose setae on both margins, and a small terminal article of the outer ramus, which is shorter than adjacent spines. A description of the new species and morphological differences from related species are provided in the text.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have emerged as vehicles that mediate diverse cell-cell communication. However, in-depth understanding of these vesicles is hampered by a lack of a reliable isolation method to separate different types of EVs with high levels of integrity and purity. Here, we developed a nanoporous and ultra-thin membrane structure (NUTS) that warrants the size-based isolation of EVs without cake formation, minimizing the sample loss during the filtration process.

Several path algorithms have been developed to obtain the whole solution path of the FLSA. However, it is known that the FLSA has model selection inconsistency when the underlying signals have a stair-case block, where three consecutive signal blocks are either strictly increasing or decreasing.

As an extension of single-atom catalysts, the development of double-atom catalysts with high electrocatalytic activity for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is vital to facilitate hydrogen production and industrial applications. The CoM (M = 3d, 4d, 5d block metals) homo and double-atom catalysts supported on nitrogen-doped graphene (CoM/NG) were prepared for electrochemical water oxidation under alkaline conditions, and the electrocatalytic activity was studied through density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The hetero CoCu/NG double-atom catalyst indicated the highest OER activity with an onset potential of 0.

Skin is highly vulnerable to premature aging due to external stress, therefore, in this study, a peptide formulation, (galloyl)-KTPPTTP (Gal-Pep) was synthesized by combining TPPTTP peptide, and gallic acid (GA). All peptides were synthesized on 2-chlorotrityl chloride resin using solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), and analyzed on an electrospray ionization (ESI)/quadrupole-time-of-flight (Q-TOF) tandem mass spectroscopy (MS) system. Initially, Gal-Pep showed no toxicity below the concentration 100 μM with cell survival rate of 88% for keratinocytes and fibroblasts.

Although there have been many studies addressing the dendrite growth issue of lithium (Li)-metal batteries (LMBs), the Li-metal anode has not yet been implemented in today's rechargeable batteries. There is a need to accelerate the practical use of LMBs by considering their cost-effectiveness, ecofriendliness, and scalability. Herein, a cost-effective and uniform protection layer was developed by simple heat treatment of a Post-it note.
