Article Synopsis
- The study aimed to evaluate and compare muscle activity in patients with skeletal Class II malocclusion treated with rigid and flexible fixed functional appliances.
- Fourteen patients aged 13-17 were divided into two groups: one using a rigid appliance (MPA IV) and the other a flexible appliance (Churro Jumper), with muscle activity measured using EMG.
- Results indicated both appliances significantly increased muscle activity in the masseter and anterior temporalis muscles, but the flexible Churro Jumper produced a greater increase than the rigid MPA IV during various activities like resting, swallowing, and clenching.
Objective: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess the effect of premature loss of primary teeth in children of mixed dentition age on the prevalence of malocclusion in permanent dentition.
Material And Methods: A search was conducted in Medline through PubMed, Cochrane databases, Google Scholar, and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) through March 2023. All observational studies that evaluated the association between premature loss of primary teeth and malocclusion in permanent dentition were included for analysis.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to compare ZrO, polyether ether ketone (PEEK), and ZrO-PEEK telescopic attachments in terms of retention of overdenture.
Methodology: Forty-five acrylic resin models of the lower arch were divided into 3 groups of 15 each. In Group I, primary and secondary crowns were constructed from all zirconia (ZrO), whereas all PEEK was used for Group II and Group III was made up of ZrO PEEK.
