The Comprehensive Proarrhythmia Assay (CiPA) evaluates drug-induced torsade de pointes (TdP) risk, with qNet commonly used to classify drugs into low-, intermediate-, and high-risk categories. While most studies focus on single-drug effects, 2-drug fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy is widely used for cardiovascular disease management. We aimed to develop the CiPA-based methodology to predict adverse effects of FDC therapy.

Background: Glioma is the second most common type of brain tumor, accounting for 24% of all brain tumor cases. The current diagnostic procedure is through an invasive tissue sampling to obtain histopathological analysis, however, not all patients are able to undergo a high-risk procedure. Circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) are considered as promising biomarkers for glioma due to their sensitivity, specificity, and non-invasive properties.

Background: Pregnancy is associated with distinct risks of fascia thickness compared to nulliparous. Therefore, this study aimed to compare plantar fascia thickness between asymptomatic pregnant women and nulliparous, evaluating the relationship with age, body mass index (BMI), arch height index (AHI), gestational age, and number of pregnancies.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted between January and March 2023, and subjects were through a simple random sampling method.

Aims: Clinical high-risk for psychosis (CHR-P) states exhibit diverse clinical presentations, prompting a shift towards broader outcome assessments beyond psychosis manifestation. To elucidate more uniform clinical profiles and their trajectories, we investigated CHR-P profiles in a community sample.
Methods: Participants ( = 829; baseline age: 16-40 years) comprised individuals from a Swiss community sample who were followed up over roughly 3 years.

The emergence of new variants of SARS-CoV-2, including Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Omicron variants, and XBB sub-variants, contributes to the number of coronavirus cases worldwide. SARS-CoV-2 is a positive RNA virus with a genome of 29.9 kb that encodes four structural proteins: spike glycoprotein (S), envelope glycoprotein (E), membrane glycoprotein (M), and nucleocapsid glycoprotein (N).

The Takeda G protein-coupled receptor 5 (TGR5), also known as GPBAR1 (G protein-coupled bile acid receptor), is a membrane-type bile acid receptor that regulates blood glucose levels and energy expenditure. These essential functions make TGR5 a promising target for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and metabolic disorders. Currently, most research on developing TGR5 agonists focuses on modifying the structure of bile acids, which are the endogenous ligands of TGR5.

Background And Aims: Overweight and obesity are modifiable risk factors for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) in the general population, but their prevalence in individuals with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia (HeFH) and whether they confer additional risk of ASCVD independent of LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) remains unclear.
Methods: Cross-sectional analysis was conducted in 35 540 patients with HeFH across 50 countries, in the EAS FH Studies Collaboration registry. Prevalence of World Health Organization-defined body mass index categories was investigated in adults (n = 29 265) and children/adolescents (n = 6275); and their association with prevalent ASCVD.

How group-living primates come to a consensus about navigating their environment is a result of their decision-making processes. Although decision-making has been examined in several primate taxa, it remains underexplored for primates living in anthropogenic landscapes. To shed light on consensus decision-making and flexibility in this process, we examined collective movement behavior in a group of wild moor macaques (Macaca maura) experiencing a risk-reward tradeoff as a result of roadside provisioning within Bantimurung Bulusaraung National Park in South Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Our previous study revealed a link between O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT) localization and protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) activity in osteoblast. Given the association of PP2A downregulation with osteoblast differentiation, we hypothesized that OGT localization changes during this process. We examined OGT localization in MC3T3-E1 cells undergoing differentiation under normal and high glucose conditions.

Background: The burden of Aedes aegypti-transmitted viruses such as dengue, chikungunya, and Zika are increasing globally, fueled by urbanization and climate change, with some of the highest current rates of transmission in Asia. Local factors in the built environment have the potential to exacerbate or mitigate transmission.
Methods: In 24 informal urban settlements in Makassar, Indonesia and Suva, Fiji, we tested children under 5 years old for evidence of prior infection with dengue, chikungunya, and Zika viruses by IgG serology.

Background: Nephrotoxicity is a condition characterized by a decline in kidney function due to the toxic effects of medications and substances, such as the nephrotoxic antibiotic gentamicin. Artocarpus champeden is a traditional medicinal plant that is commonly found in Indonesia.
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the potential of the ethyl acetate fraction of Artocarpus champeden leaves (FEC) in improving kidney function in an animal model of nephrotoxicity induced by gentamicin and piroxicam.

Globally, more than 100 countries have adopted net-zero targets. Most studies agree on how this increases the chance of keeping end-of-century global warming below 2°C. However, they typically make assumptions about net-zero targets that do not capture uncertainties related to gas coverage, sector coverage, sinks, and removals.

Spirituality care plays an important role in holistic healthcare. Our previous study found Muslim psychiatric inpatients encounter significant obstacles that hinder their ability to engage in a formal prayer practice in the hospital. To address this gap, we aimed to develop a spirituality and religious needs inventory specifically for Muslim psychiatric inpatients.

This paper highlights potential active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) generations from improper disposal of medicines and captures the perceptions of key stakeholders - households and pharmaceutical actors in Upper Citarum River Basin (UCRB). Most pharmaceutical waste is disposed of with household waste, suggesting landfills are the most significant APIs contamination sources. We highlight the complex relationship between knowledge, risk perception, and behavioural intentions, stressing the relevance of risk perception as a mediator when studying how knowledge affects behaviour.

Managing wastewater and using renewable energy sources are challenges in achieving sustainable development goals. This study provides an overview of the factors influencing the performance of algae-based membrane bioreactors (AMBRs) for contaminant removal from wastewater and biogas production. This review highlights that the performance of AMBRs in removing total phosphorus (TP) and nitrogen (N) from wastewater can reach up to 93% and 97%, respectively, depending on parameters such as pH, hydraulic retention time (HRT), and algae concentration.

Background: Percutaneous Endoscopic Lumbar Discectomy (PELD) is a leading minimally invasive technique for lumbar disc herniation (LDH). The two primary approaches, transforaminal (PETD) and interlaminar (PEID), each present distinct advantages and challenges in treating L5-S1 LDH. This study aims to compare the efficacy and safety of these two approaches.

Background: A number of clinical studies have shown a positive association between the maternal -3 PUFA status during pregnancy and fetal and newborn development and health. Despite this well-documented role of -3 PUFAs in pregnancy, data on maternal the LC-PUFAs status during pregnancy in the Indonesian population, to our knowledge, are not yet available. This study reports on the LC-PUFA dietary intake among pregnant women in a suburban population of Bogor City, West Java, Indonesia.
