Background: Despite multiple years of government HIV educational efforts, the growing trend of new cases among women in Indonesia runs parallel with their seemingly overall lack of comprehensive knowledge about HIV. A major prevention challenge for the Indonesian government lies in delivering HIV prevention education across the world's largest archipelago. This study investigates comprehensive HIV knowledge among reproductive-age women in Southwest Sumba, Indonesia, and the sources through which they report having learned about HIV along with potential mediators of the relationship between socioeconomic status (SES) and HIV knowledge.

Management of an isolated posterior cruciate ligament avulsion fracture in a pediatric patient using screw fixation: A case report.

Introduction: Isolated posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) avulsion fracture is rare in pediatric population. To our knowledge, there is no established guideline to treat this rare injury in children. Introduction And Importance: Neglected posterior hip dislocations in adults are rare, particularly when untreated for years. In developing nations, patients often rely on traditional bone setters, leading to delayed diagnosis and increased complications. Adult hip dislocations carry a higher risk of avascular necrosis and require complex treatments.

Primary bladder neck obstruction in females: Case series from the Indonesian population.

Introduction: Primary bladder neck obstruction (PBNO) is a rare but significant cause of BOO and LUTS in females, with unclear etiology involving theories of fibrotic narrowing, tissue hyperplasia, or muscle abnormalities. Due to nonspecific symptoms, PBNO diagnosis remains challenging, and optimal surgical treatment needs to be better defined.

Case Presentation: We report two cases of females in their 50s with recurrent urinary retention managed by indwelling catheters.

This study introduces an innovative bio-based sorbent bead crafted by integrating chitosan (CS) biopolymers, Fe(NO3)3 and polydopamine nanoparticles (PDA NPs) via glutaraldehyde crosslinking. The primary focus of this study was the concurrent separation of diverse tetracycline antibiotics (TCs), followed by rigorous reversed-phase liquid chromatography analysis. The fabricated CS/Fe@PDA sorbent beads were comprehensively characterized using scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, revealing a surface rich in active carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and oxygen (O) moieties.

The rapid development of delivery systems for cosmetics has revealed two critical challenges in the field: enhancing the solubility of active ingredients and ensuring the stability of natural materials used in cosmetics. Nanoemulsion technology has emerged as an indispensable solution for addressing these challenges, not only enhancing the stability of cosmetics but also improving the solubility of pharmaceuticals and active ingredients with poor solubility. Nanoemulsion formulations have reinforced stability and amended the bioavailability of hydrophobic drugs.

Exploring data literacy self-perception among Indonesian high school students.

Data is becoming increasingly ubiquitous today, and data literacy has emerged an essential skill in the workplace. Therefore, it is necessary to equip high school students with data literacy skills in order to prepare them for further learning and future employment. Investigation of alpha-glucosidase inhibition activity of Artabotrys sumatranus leaf extract using metabolomics, machine learning and molecular docking analysis.

One way to treat diabetes mellitus type II is by using α-glucosidase inhibitor, that will slow down the postprandial glucose intake. Metabolomics analysis of Artabotrys sumatranus leaf extract was used in this research to predict the active compounds as α-glucosidase inhibitors from this extract. Both multivariate statistical analysis and machine learning approaches were used to improve the confidence of the predictions.

Parkinson's disease screening using a fusion of gait point cloud and silhouette features.

Parkinson's Disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that is often accompanied by slowness of movement (bradykinesia) or gradual reduction in the frequency and amplitude of repetitive movement (hypokinesia). There is currently no cure for PD, but early detection and treatment can slow down its progression and lead to better treatment outcomes. Vision-based approaches have been proposed for the early detection of PD using gait.

Our goal is to improve Project Management (PM) profitability and reduce discrepancies in information among stakeholders, which can result in conflicts. This will be accomplished by incorporating Earned Value Management (EVM) with the Income Statement and incorporating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) with the work breakdown structure (WBS). These incorporations will streamline information sharing between PM, other management professionals, and the stakeholders, ultimately fostering the application of PM within broader business and management contexts.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Biosphere Reserves aim to balance nature and human coexistence, but increasing tourism challenges landscape management. The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) stresses the importance of understanding stakeholder values for effective management of natural spaces through a typology of intrinsic, instrumental, and relational values. This study applies this IPBES typology to tourism preferences in the Archipelago Sea Biosphere Reserve (ABR) using Public Participation Geographic Information Systems (PPGIS).

Objectives:  Calcium carbonate (CaCO), a major inorganic component in bones and teeth, offers potential protection against demineralization. This study investigates the effect of CaCO from shells on the expression of fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2), transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1), and collagen type 1 in the rat dental pulp.

Materials And Methods:  The first maxillary molars of were perforated and subsequently pulp capped with CaCO extracted from shells.

Exploring the Changes in Mild Cognitive Impairment Blood-Based Biomarkers after Local Antibiotic Periodontal Treatment in Diabetic Patients: Secondary Analysis of Data from a Randomized Controlled Trial.

Objectives:  This article investigates the changes in blood-based biomarkers associated with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) risk in type 2 diabetic patients following local antibiotic periodontal treatment.

Materials And Methods:  A secondary analysis of data from a 24-week randomized controlled trial was conducted, involving 27 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and periodontitis. Participants received periodontal treatment biweekly from baseline until the 6th week of the study.

Denture Care Behavior and Lifespan of Removable Partial Dentures in Indonesian Military Personnel: An Approach Using the Theory of Planned Behavior.

Objectives:  In the context of military health, removable partial acrylic dentures (RPADs) are crucial for the quality of life and performance of Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) soldiers. Given the demanding and unpredictable military environment, RPADs provide a solution for soldiers experiencing tooth loss. This research aims to identify behavioral factors influencing the lifespan of RPADs among TNI soldiers.

Objectives:  This study aims to detect early class I, II, and III malocclusions through the muscle strength of the lips, tongue, masseter, and temporalis.

Materials And Methods:  The study subjects were 30 pediatric patients with predetermined criteria. The subjects were divided into class I, II, and III malocclusions where each classification of malocclusion amounted to 10 people.

Objective: Mpox, a zoonotic disease, has emerged as a significant international public health concern due to an increase in the number of cases diagnosed in non-endemic countries. To support public health response efforts to interrupt Mpox transmission in the community, this study aims to identify epidemiological and clinical aspects of Mpox in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Methods: The study collected Mpox data from the Provincial Health Department in Jakarta, Indonesia, from October 2023 to February 2024.

Pregnancy outcomes after all mode of conception in patients with genital tuberculosis: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to summarize the pregnancy outcomes of women di-agnosed with genital tuberculosis (GTB) who spontaneously conceived or underwent intrauterine in-semination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF) after being treated with antitubercular therapy (ATT). Pub-lications from the PubMed, Medline, Embase, Ovid, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar data-bases were searched from December 20, 2021, to March 5, 2022. The outcomes are presented as pooled averages with 95% confidence intervals.

Role of memantine to mitigate radiation-induced cognitive dysfunction in brain metastasis patient receiving whole brain radiotherapy: a systematic review.

Purpose: Identifying comprehensively the evidence of neuroprotective effects of memantine for preserving cognitive function in brain metastasis patients receiving whole brain radiotherapy (WBRT).

Methods: We searched randomized clinical trials (RCTs) analyzing the effects of memantine to preserve cognitive function in patients with brain metastasis treated with WBRT, performed in some databases, including PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library.
