Bow Hunter's Syndrome with Rotational Atlantoaxial Instability: A Rare Association.

Bow Hunter's syndrome (BHS) is a very rare condition in which there is rotational vertebral artery (VA) insufficiency. The association of BHS with rotational atlantoaxial instability is extremely rare. We are reporting a case of pediatric BHS who presented with features of VA insufficiency on neck rotation.

NMDAR antibody encephalitis is the most common autoimmune encephalitis characterized by a myriad of neuropsychiatric symptoms. It predominantly affects females and is associated with ovarian teratoma (58%). Nineteen percent do not respond to treatment and are left with serious neurological deficits.

Expert survey on management of prostate cancer in India: Real-world insights into practice patterns.

To gain insights on the diverse practice patterns and treatment pathways for prostate cancer (PC) in India, the Urological Cancer Foundation convened the first Indian survey to discuss all aspects of PC, with the objective of guiding clinicians on optimizing management in PC. A modified Delphi method was used, wherein a multidisciplinary panel of oncologists treating PC across India developed a questionnaire related to screening, diagnosis and management of early, locally advanced and metastatic PC and participated in a web-based survey (WBS) (n = 62). An expert committee meeting (CM) (n = 48, subset from WBS) reviewed the ambiguous questions for better comprehension and reanalyzed the evidence to establish a revote for specific questions.

Lympho plasmacytoma is distinct type of diffuse large B cell lymphoma predominantly seen in HIV-positive patients. The diagnosis of lympho plasmacytoma could be a challenge due to its overlapping characterizes with those of myeloma and lymphoma. We report a case of a 50-year-old man who initially presented with a painful solitary destructive lesion at the second lumbar vertebra.

Swashbuckler approach for distal femur fractures: A systematic review.

Purpose: The review aims to reach a common consensus regarding the swashbuckler approach for distal femur fractures by a systematic review of the available literature and to evaluate the complications, union, and outcomes

Methods: Electronic database search engines like Cochrane Library, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scopus were searched until May 2021. Studies comparing the clinical complications, and functional outcome scores of Swashbuckler approach for distal femur were considered. The quality of the articles were evaluated using Methodological Index for Non-Randomized Studies score.

Prospective Randomized Controlled Study Comparing Primary Surgery Versus Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Followed by Surgery in Gastric Carcinoma.

Neoadjuvant chemotherapy in gastric cancer can treat micro metastatic disease and can increase the resectability rate. The trial was to compare early outcomes after primary surgery versus neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by surgery in gastric adenocarcinoma. The primary aim of the study was to compare resectability and R0 resection rates in upfront surgery v/s chemotherapy followed by surgery arm.

A dosimetric comparison between applicators used for brachytherapy in carcinoma cervix - A single-institute prospective study.

Introduction: Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among Indian women. Radical radiotherapy with external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) and brachytherapy is the standard treatment for FIGO stage IB2 to IVA. An appropriate selection of brachytherapy applicator is needed according to the patient's anatomy.

Patterns of epidermal growth factor receptor testing across 111 tertiary care centers in India: Result of a questionnaire-based survey.

Background: We conducted a survey of 111 medical oncologists across India to understand the current pattern of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation testing at their respective centers.

Methods: Medical oncologists from 111 institutes across India were interviewed face to face using a structured questionnaire. They were divided into two groups - Group 1 with in-house EGFR testing and Group 2 who send samples to central/commercial laboratories outside their institutions.

Penetrating Injury to Cauda Equina from a Missile Fragment, Completely Recovered after Delayed Surgical Removal of Ballistic Fragment.

Penetrating injuries to cauda equina due to missile fragment are rare. The mechanism of injury may be more complex due to thermal effect of missile fragment, apart from mechanisms described in penetrating gunshot injuries or stab injuries. We report a case of a 42-year-old male with penetrating missile injury to cauda equina, improved completely after delayed surgical exploration and removal of ballistic fragment.

Chiari I Malformation Associated with Turner Syndrome.

Turner syndrome (TS) is a rare genetic disease due to the absence of one X chromosome. Patients with TS have more subtle neurological/neuropsychiatric problems, while headache is an uncommon clinical presentation which needs attention. We report a 12-year-old child presenting with typical cough headache.

Successful Endovascular Neurosurgical Practice in Resource-poor Exclusive Rural Neuro-hospital Setup.

Aim: The aim of this study to evaluate the feasibility of establishing endovascular neurosurgery in remote resource-poor neuro-hospital setup and evaluate its outcome.

Materials And Methods: Retrospective analysis of diagnostic and therapeutic endovascular neurosurgical procedures performed during September 2013-June 2016.

Results: A total of 174 diagnostic cerebral and spinal digital subtraction angiograms and 70 major endovascular neurosurgeries were performed during the period.
