Background And Aims: Erector spinae plane block (ESPB) has been found effective in providing postoperative analgesia following a myriad of surgeries. This study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of ultrasonography (USG) guided erector spinae plane block to provide postoperative analgesia following percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL).
Methods: This was a prospective, double-blinded, randomised parallel-group study conducted in patients undergoing PCNL.
There are multiple causes of pleuro-pericardial effusion (PPEF) and more so in a patient with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Postcardiac injury syndrome (PCIS) is a loosely defined term for occurrence of pericardial and/or pleural effusion (PLEF), low-grade fever, with or without systemic upset, which occurs after myocardial infarction (MI), and other cardiac interventions. PPEF is one of its salient manifestations.

Background: Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is in elimination phase in India while cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is being reported from new foci. In Himachal Pradesh (HP), a foci of CL had been reported along Satluj River, but the causative agent poses a dilemma, hence the present study was undertaken in Shimla, Kullu and Kinnaur districts.

Basal Cell Adenoma (BCA) known as monomorphic adenoma is a rare type of benign epithelial salivary neoplasm that mostly occurs in the parotid gland. Clinically BCA appears as a firm, mobile, slow-growing mass and is usually diagnosed during the histopathological examination of the resected surgical specimen. Histological differential diagnosis ranges from benign to malignant neoplasms such as pleomorphic adenoma, basal cell adenocarcinoma, adenoid cystic carcinoma and basaloid squamous cell carcinoma.

In April 2016, an indigenous monovalent rotavirus vaccine (Rotavac) was introduced to the National Immunization Program in India. Hospital-based surveillance for acute gastroenteritis was conducted in five sentinel sites from 2012 to 2020 to monitor the vaccine impact on various genotypes and the reduction in rotavirus positivity at each site. Stool samples collected from children under 5 years of age hospitalized with diarrhea were tested for group A rotavirus using a commercial enzyme immunoassay, and rotavirus strains were characterized by RT-PCR.
