Aim: The aim of this study was to compare the cytotoxic effect of calcium silicate-based Bio-C, CeraSeal, and mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA)-based (MTA-Fillapex) sealers to a widely used resin-based sealer (AH Plus) using 3-(4, 5 dimethythiazol-2yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay and microscopic examination.
Materials And Methods: A total of ( = 36) samples divided into four groups with three sealer samples per time period of 0 h, 24 h, and 7 days after mixing were extracted in cell culture medium using Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium. The cytotoxicity of these sealers was evaluated using an MTT assay on L929 mouse fibroblasts, and changes in the cell morphology were observed under an inverted phase-contrast microscope (×20).

Unlabelled: Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) has spread as a pandemic throughout the world, posing a serious public health threat. Dentists appear to have a higher risk of COVID-19 exposure amongst Healthcare workers. This danger is even more magnified in pediatric dentistry since infected children typically have an asymptomatic, mild, or severe clinical viral infection and so can considerably contribute to community-based COVID-19 transmission.

Introduction: Postoperative infectious complications are commonly encountered in open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of maxillofacial fractures. An early diagnosis of infectious processes is the key in preventing morbidity/mortality which could be in the form of loss of hardware and sepsis. To prevent these, various markers of inflammation have been studied in different disciplines of surgery but are found scarce in maxillofacial practice.

Aim: This study was conducted to compare smear layer removal by five different irrigation techniques-conventional needle irrigation (CI), manual dynamic activation (MDA), passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI), sonic irrigation (SI), and negative apical pressure (NAP).
Materials And Methods: Fifty freshly extracted mandibular first premolars were cleaned and shaped by One Curve rotary files and 3% sodium hypochlorite and 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid. The samples were divided into five equal groups ( = 10), according to the final irrigation activation technique: Group I, CI; Group II, MDA; Group III, PUI; Group IV, SI; and Group V, NAP.

Growth factors like bone morphogenetic protein 4 (BMP4) and fibroblast growth factor 8 (FGF8) play a major role in organogenesis and specifically in odontogenesis. They are also believed to have a role in oncogenesis. Thus, any discrepancies in their standard behavior and activity would lead to serious abnormalities including odontogenic cyst and tumors.

Plumieride, an iridoid glucoside isolated from Plumieria acutifolia leaves was investigated for its immunostimulatory activity on humoral, cell mediated and intracellular cytokine levels in sensitized and unsensitised balb/c mice. Plumieride restores the suppressed cell mediated, humoral immune response and also enhances the release of TNF- α, IFN-γ, and IL-2 (Th-1) in immune compromised cyclosporine and cyclophosphamide treated balb/c mice. It does not stimulate the IL-4 (Th-2) expression.

The Van der Woude syndrome is a rare autosomal dominant developmental malformation usually associated with lower lip pits, cleft lip and palate. These congenital lip pits appear, clinically, as a malformation in the vermilion border of the lip, with or without excretion. Obligate carriers of this dominant mutation may have lip pits alone, cleft(s) alone, clefts and pits or neither.
