Here, a C-terminal cysteine-containing ultrashort peptide hydrogelator forms hydrogel through non-covalent and covalent interactions. Interestingly, the hydrogel is insoluble in water and buffer solutions at different pH values (1-13) and is thixotropic and injectable.

Such multilayer coatings were mostly and conventionally derived by following a simple layer-by-layer (LbL) deposition process through the strategic use of electrostatic interactions, hydrogen bonding, host-guest interactions, covalent bonding, etc. In the conventional design of multilayer coatings, the chemical composition and morphology of coatings are modulated during the process of multilayer constructions.

These naïve MSCs have tremendous potential in regenerative therapeutics, and may also be exploited by cancer and infectious disease agents.
