In this work, we have hypothesized that noble metal-free perovskites are an essential class of oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts in an alkaline medium and thus, they are a suitable candidate for the assisted water oxidation catalysts. Herein, we demonstrate that the origin of the methanol-assisted OER activity at near thermodynamic potential on perovskite electrode arises due to the involvement of additional hydroxyls as a result of dissociative chemisorption of methanol. When the perovskite electrode is screened for methanol electrooxidation reaction in 0.

Studying the viscosity of lipid droplets (LDs) provides insights into various diseases associated with LD viscosity. Ferroptosis is one such process in which LD viscosity increases due to the abnormal accumulation of lipid ROS (reactive oxygen species) caused by peroxidation. For investigating the LD imaging and ferroptosis, we developed two molecules (NNS and DNS) that show significant Stokes shifts (182-232 nm) and utilized them for sub-cellular imaging.

Contact resistance () in organic devices originates from a mismatch in energy levels between injecting electrodes and organic semiconductors (OSCs). However, the microscopic effects governing charge transfer between electrodes and the OSCs have not been analyzed in detail. We fabricated transistors with different OSCs (PTB7, PCDTBT, and PTB7-Th) and electrodes (MoO, Au, and Ag) and measured their contact resistance.

Interprotein interactions between the partially unfolded states of D-crystallin (D-crys) protein are known to cause cataracts. Therefore, understanding the unfolding pathways of native D-crys is extremely crucial to delineate their aggregation mechanism. In this study, we have performed extensive all-atom Molecular Dynamics simulations with explicit solvent to understand the role of the critical residues that drive the stability of the motifs and domains of D-crys in its wild type and mutant forms.

The linear stability of two-layer channel flows in the presence of bulk-soluble surfactants is investigated here, taking into account the rheological properties of the interface. The interfacial stresses are quantified using the Boussinesq-Scriven model, while the surfactant kinetics is assumed to follow the Frumkin isotherm, which accounts for their non-ideal behavior. Our results show that in general, the bulk solubility of surfactants has a stabilizing effect on the interface, both with and without the presence of inertia.

Lipid droplets (LDs) have emerged as major regulators of cellular metabolism, encompassing lipid storage, membrane synthesis, viral replication, and protein degradation. Exclusive studies have suggested a direct link between LDs and cancer, as a notable abundance of LDs is found in cancerous cells. Therefore, monitoring the location, distribution, and movements of LDs is of paramount importance for understanding their involvement in biological processes.

Photoexcitation of noble metal nanoparticles creates surface plasmons which further decay to form energetic charge carriers. These charge carriers can initiate and/or accelerate various chemical processes at nanoparticle surfaces, although the efficiency of such processes remains low as a large fraction of these carriers recombine before they can reach the reaction sites. Thus efficient utilization of these charge carriers requires designing nanostructures that promote the separation of charges and their transport toward the reaction sites.

Wound healing using an alginate-based biopolymeric film is one of the most preferred treatments. However, these films lack mechanical strength (elasticity and tensile strength), show higher initial burst release, and exhibit high vapor permeability. The present study reports the development of nanosheets derived from titanium diboride (10 nm) (NTB)-incorporated biopolymeric films (0.

The evolving international economic instability and international trade relationship demand a nation to move towards a self-reliant integrated system at a sub-national scale to address the growing human needs. Given India's role in the global trade network, it is critical to explore the underlying extensive complex trade network at the domestic scale. The potential advantages of complex interaction among the different commodities remain unexplored despite the known importance of trade networks in maintaining food security and industrial sustainability.

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have emerged as a potential candidate for third-generation thin film solar energy conversion systems because of their outstanding optoelectronic properties, cost-effectiveness, environmental friendliness, and easy manufacturing process. The electron transport layer is one of the most essential components in DSSCs since it plays a crucial role in the device's greatest performance. Silver ions as a dopant have drawn attention in DSSC device applications because of their stability under ambient conditions, decreased charge recombination, increased efficient charge transfer, and optical, structural, and electrochemical properties.

Hypoxia, a decrease in cellular or tissue level oxygen content, is characteristic of most tumors and has been shown to drive cancer progression by altering multiple subcellular processes. We hypothesized that the cancer cells in a hypoxic environment might have slower proliferation rates and increased invasion and migration rates with altered endocytosis compared to the cancer cells in the periphery of the tumor mass that experience normoxic conditions. We induced cellular hypoxia by exposing cells to cobalt chloride, a chemical hypoxic mimicking agent.

Aerobic substrate oxidation reactions catalyzed by a heterogeneous catalyst can be looked upon as two independent half-cell reactions, anodic substrate oxidation and the cathodic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). In this context, Fe PANI/C, a well-known catalyst for the ORR, is chosen to validate this hypothesis, wherein the anodic reaction is hydrazine oxidation. Fe PANI/C shows excellent activity in terms of the electrochemical ORR and hydrazine oxidation in both alkaline aqueous and non-aqueous media and taken together the aerobic oxidation efficacy of hydrazine-like small organic molecules is correlated with the electrochemical outcomes.
