Cesium lead halide perovskite (CsPbX; X = Cl, Br, I) nanocrystals showing intense band-edge emission and high photoluminescence quantum yield are known to be a potential candidate for application in optoelectronic devices. However, controlling toxicity due to the presence of Pbin lead-based halide perovskites is a major challenge for the environment that needs to be tackled cautiously. In this work, we have partially replaced Pbwith Mnions in the CsPb(Cl/Br)nanocrystals and investigated their impact on the structural and optical properties.

Grid-scale energy storage solutions are necessary for using renewable energy sources efficiently. A supercapattery (supercapacitor + battery) has recently been introduced as a new variety of hybrid devices that engage both capacitive and faradaic charge storage processes. Nano-chain architectures of NiCoS electrode materials consisting of interconnected nano-spheres are rationally constructed by tailoring the surface structure.

Src homology-2 (SH2) domain-containing phosphatase-2 (SHP2) is the first identified protooncogene and is a promising target for developing small molecule inhibitors as cancer chemotherapeutic agents. Pharmacophore-based virtual screening (PBVS) is a pharmacoinformatics methodology that employs physicochemical knowhow of the chemical space into the dynamic environs of computational technology to extract virtual molecular hits that are precise and promising for a drug target. In the current study, PBVS has been applied on Enamine Advanced Collection of 551,907 molecules by using a pharmacophore model developed upon by Molecular Operating Environment (MOE) software to identify potential small molecule allosteric SHP2 inhibitors.

Metal-organic framework (MOF) based proton conductors are synthesized by the Avrami model (time-temperature modalities). Our objective here is to obtain a material with high proton conductivity in anhydrous conditions, improved catalytic behaviour and morphology control of conductivity, band gap and catalysis. For this purpose, we try to understand the role of morphology on mass transportation using computational fluid dynamics and the experimental realisation using the synthesis of MOF membranes with high protonic conductivity.

Leishmaniasis, one of the neglected diseases, ranks second to malaria in the cause of parasitic mortality and morbidity. The present chemotherapeutic regimen faces the limitations of drug resistance and toxicity concerns, raising a great need to develop new chemotherapeutic leads that are orally administrable, potent, non-toxic, and cost-effective. Several research groups came forward to fill this therapeutic gap with new classes of active compounds against leishmaniasis, one such being 3,3'-diindolylmethane (DIM) derivatives.

The demand for environmentally friendly and sustainable resource utilization techniques for recycling waste printed circuit boards is significant due to their status as valuable secondary resources, containing high-purity copper and precious metals. In this context, Cu(OH)/CuO and CuO nanostructures were fabricated using alkaline precipitation and low-temperature aging methods using the strip solution originated from laboratory-scale spent mobile phone printed circuit board recovery process. XRD, FTIR, FESEM-EDX, and TEM were utilized to characterize the as-recovered nanoproducts.

We report a comprehensive study of the structural, morphological, and optical properties, and UC-based ratiometric temperature sensing behavior of (α) cubic and (β) hexagonal phases of NaYF:Yb/Er nanoparticles. The α-NaYF:Yb/Er and β-NaYF:Yb/Er nanoparticles were synthesized using co-precipitation and hydrothermal methods, respectively. Powder X-ray diffraction studies confirmed the phase purity of the samples.

Thermal transport and exciton dynamics of semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) play an immense role in next-generation electronic, photonic, and thermoelectric devices. In this work, we synthesize distinct morphologies (snow-like and hexagonal) of a trilayer MoSe film over the SiO/Si substrate the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method and investigated their morphological dependent exciton dynamics and thermal transport behaviour for the first time to the best of our knowledge. Firstly, we studied the role of spin-orbit and interlayer couplings both theoretically as well as experimentally first-principles density functional theory and photoluminescence study, respectively.

Bi ion co-doping creates a local distortion while the average tetragonal structure of CaMoO remains intact. This creates asymmetry around the Er ions which improves the UC emission.

A flexible and easily processable polymer composite is developed from naturally occurring piezoelectric materials for efficient energy-harvesting applications. Tomato peel (TP)- and cotton (CTN)-based poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) composites have been prepared and the role of induced electroactive phases have been explored through structural, thermal, and morphological analyses for their applications in energy production. The mechanism of induced piezoelectricity is vividly demonstrated using electromechanical responses and characteristic changes due to induction phenomena.

The effects of ELF-PEMF exposure on spontaneous alternation, anxiety, motor coordination, and locomotor activity have been discussed in various pre-clinical and clinical settings. Several epidemiological and experimental studies have demonstrated the potential effects of ELF-PEMF when exposed > ∼1 h/day; however, very few studies have focused on understanding the influence of ELF-PEMF exposure of 1-3 mT with an exposure duration of < 1 h/day on spontaneous alternation, anxiety, motor coordination, and locomotor activity. Hence, we attempted to study the effects of ELF-PEMF exposure of 1-3 mT, 50 Hz with an exposure duration of 20 min each with a 4 h gap (2 times) on the cellular proliferation and morphologies of C6 (Glial) cells and spontaneous alternation, anxiety, motor coordination and locomotor activity of Wistar rats under in vitro and in vivo conditions, respectively.

Amongst the various fast ion conductors, lanthanum excess lanthanum silicate oxyapatite (La10-α(SiO)O2+δ) has shown higher oxide ion conductivity with lower activation energy. On the other hand, the activation energy increases with La vacancies (La at 4f site). In the present work, La site is altered with Ca to form (La1-xCa)(SiO)O2+δ(x=0.

Optical temperature sensing is widely realized by using upconversion (UC) emission in lanthanide-doped phosphors. There are various parameters that are responsible for UC intensity of the phosphor like particle shape and size, type of symmetry that exist at the site position, distribution of lanthanide ions in the phosphor, and so on. However, a comparative study of the bulk and nanostructure on the temperature sensing ability of such phosphor is rare.

To overcome the environmental challenges caused by utilization of fossil fuel based energy technologies and to utilize the full potential of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and tidal, high power and high energy density containing large scale electrochemical energy storage devices are a matter of concern and a need of the hour. Pseudocapacitors with accessibility to multiple oxidation states for redox charge transfer can achieve a higher degree of energy storage density compared to electric double layer capacitors (EDLC) and the hybrid supercapacitor is one of the prominent electrochemical capacitors that can resolve the low energy density issues associated with EDLCs. Due to its open pore framework structure with superior structural stability and accessibility of Co redox states, porous anhydrous CoCO nanorods are envisaged here as a potential energy storage electrode in a pseudo-capacitive mode.

Interaction energy between the molecules decreases with an increase in the size of the basis set for both the dimer and trimer.
