In this work, we have synthesized a multichromophoric light-harvesting antenna, namely, triad, consisting of naphthalene monoimide (NMI) and perylene monoimide (PMI) chromophores. Triad was adsorbed onto polymeric graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) to form triad/g-CN composite, utilized as a photocatalyst for oxidative amidation reaction. This composite photocatalyst demonstrated enhanced photocatalytic activity for the conversion of a variety of aldehydes to amides, leading up to 82 % product yield compared to only g-CN or only triad as photocatalysts.

ATPase family AAA domain-containing protein 2 (ATAD2) is significantly up-regulated in many cancer types and contributes to poor patient outcomes. ATAD2 exhibits a multidomain architecture comprising an N-terminal acidic domain, two AAA+ ATPase domains, a bromodomain, and a C-terminal domain. The AAA+ ATPase domain facilitates protein oligomerization and ATP binding, while the bromodomain recognizes acetylated lysine in histones and nonhistone proteins.

A series of dithienopyrrole (DTP) embedded BODIPYs were synthesized and structurally characterized. These BODIPYs have strong absorption in the green region and broad emission in the red region with a large Stokes shift ranging from 3100 to 4200 cm. Copper nanoclusters (Cu NCs), synthesized by a one-pot synthesis method, were theoretically shown to exhibit a dipole moment and cause work function modification on a surface as observed from Kelvin probe measurement. Here, Cu NCs were used as an interfacial modifier in organic solar cells (OSCs). The effective engineering of the electron transporting layer/active layer interface using Cu NCs resulted in improved photovoltaic performance in fullerene and non-fullerene based OSCs.

Within the arachnids, chromosome-level genome assemblies have greatly accelerated the understanding of gene family evolution and developmental genomics in key groups, such as spiders (Araneae), mites and ticks (Acariformes and Parasitiformes). Among other poorly studied arachnid orders that lack genome assemblies altogether are the clade Pedipalpi, which is comprised of three orders that form the sister group of spiders, which diverged over 400 Mya. We close this gap by generating the first chromosome-level assembly from a single specimen of the vinegaroon Mastigoproctus giganteus (Uropygi).

The fundamental challenge observed here is the competition between the desired C-H activation the vulnerable β-C-H bond activation of amines and fine-tuning of a suitable oxidant which avoids the oxidation of the β-C-H bond and ferrocene. Herein, the potential of an axially chiral NOBINAc ligand is revealed to implement the enantioselective Pd-catalyzed C-H activation process of ferrocenyl amines.

Herein, we unveiled a regio- and diastereoselective synthesis of cyclobutylated phenothiazines, a unique class of structural congeners of phenothiazines visible-light-irradiated intermolecular [2 + 2]-cycloaddition reaction, from readily available naphthoquinones, 2-aminothiophenols, and styrenes, either in a two-step or three-component coupling process. By varying substitutions in all three coupling partners, a library of cyclobutylated phenothiazines, including late-stage derivatization with five commercial drugs, has been realized with up to 97% isolated yield. In contrast to the reported pathways, the developed [2 + 2]-photocycloaddition seems to proceed a 'photoinduced-electron-transfer' (PET) mechanism, which is well corroborated with the experimental observations, Rehm-Weller equation, and computation studies.

Porous organic polymers (POPs) are novel emergent materials for heterogeneous organocatalysis owing to their remarkable physicochemical stabilities. Through a bottom-up approach entailing diligent design of twisted biaryl building blocks with in-built o-iodobenzoic acid (IA) moieties, a series of POP precatalysts, p-OMeIA-POP, DiMeIA-POP, and m-OMeIA-POP, were synthesized by employing Friedel-Crafts alkylation. These IA-POP precatalysts can undergo in situ oxidation in the presence of Oxone® to generate hypervalent iodine(V) species (λ5-iodanes), in particular, modified o-iodoxybenzoic acid, popularly termed IBX, which mediates diverse oxidative transformations.

Transition metal complex-loaded nanosystems (TMCNs) represent a cutting-edge platform for stimuli (light, ultrasound)-responsive cancer therapies. These nanosystems, incorporating metals such as manganese(II), zinc(II), ruthenium(II), rhenium(I), iridium(III), and platinum(IV), significantly enhance the efficacy of light-activated therapies, including photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT), as well as ultrasound-activated treatments like sonodynamic therapy (SDT). The 5,6-Bis(diisopropylphosphino)acenaphthene -stabilized Sb(I) cationic compound [LSb][OTf] (OTf = CFSO) possessing two lone pairs of electrons on the Sb(I) center showed nucleophilic behavior toward methyl trifluoromethanesulfonate forming the oxidized product [LSbMe][OTf] (OTf = CFSO). Reaction of compound with Lewis acids such as GaCl and AlBr led to changes in the counteranions only giving products [LSb][GaCl] and [LSb][SbBr] , respectively. A metathesis reaction was observed when compound was reacted with PI.

Liquid-liquid phase separation of various transcription factors into biomolecular condensates plays an essential role in gene regulation.
