Triarylboron compounds have been established as promising candidates in optoelectronic applications. However, realizing multi-functional properties in triaryl boron-based materials remains challenging. Herein, we present two regioisomers, 1 and 2, designed judiciously by connecting a dimethylamino donor and a dimesitylboryl acceptor at 1,4 and 2,6-positions of the naphthalene spacer, respectively.

A facile, rapid, and scalable microwave-assisted solvothermal technique (MAST) has been developed to deposit anisotropic silver nanoparticles (AgNP) on various substrates in a solution medium. SEM-EDS and XRD were used to characterize the morphology and structure of the deposits. Deposition on non-patterned aluminium led to near-spherical AgNP agglomerates all across the surface.

Central roles of Mn ions in immunity, brain function, and photosynthesis necessitate probes for tracking this essential metal ion in living systems. However, developing a cell-permeable, fluorescent sensor for selective imaging of Mn ions in the aqueous cellular milieu has remained a challenge. This is because Mn is a weak binder to ligand-scaffolds and Mn ions quench fluorescent dyes leading to turn-off sensors that are not applicable for imaging.

The crystal growth involves HL and Cu(NO)·3HO in CHOH + ACN (acetonitrile) solvent medium. Herein, structural characterization employs elemental, IR/Raman, NMR, UV-VIS, DRS, SEM-EDX, PXRD, SCXRD, and XPS analyses.

Quinones (QN) are one of the main components of diesel exhaust particulates that have significant detrimental effects on human health. Their extraction and purification have been challenging tasks because these atmospheric particulates exist as complex matrices consisting of inorganic and organic compounds. In this report, we introduce a new water soluble PdL molecular architecture (MT) with an unusual tweezer-shaped structure obtained by self-assembly of a newly designed phenothiazine-based tetra-imidazole donor (L) with the acceptor -[(tmeda)Pd(NO)] (M) [ tmeda = ,,','-tetramethylethane-1,2-diamine].

Difluoro(methylene)cyclopropanes (F2MCPs) show better anti-cancer properties and chemical reactivities compared to their nonfluorinated analogues. However, catalytic stereoselective methods to access these privileged motifs still remain a challenging goal. The Doyle-Kirmse reaction is a powerful strategy for the concomitant formation of carbon-carbon and carbon-sulfur bonds.

New-to-nature enzymes have emerged as powerful catalysts in recent years for streamlining various stereoselective organic transformations. While synthetic strategies employing engineered enzymes have witnessed proliferating success, there is limited clarity on the mechanistic front and more so when considering molecular-level insights into the role of selected mutations, dramatically escalating catalytic competency and selectivity. We have investigated the mechanism and correlation between mutations and exquisite stereoselectivity of a lactone carbene insertion into the C(sp)-H bond of substituted aniline, catalyzed by two mutants of a cytochrome P450 variant, "P411" (engineered through directed evolution) in which the axial cysteine has been mutated to serine, utilizing various computational tools.

InSe and InTe have great importance in various device fabrications. The present report is based on the annealing-induced phase formation of both InSe and InTe from InSeTe thin films at different annealing temperatures as found from the XRD analysis and well supported by the Raman study. The Dowd-Beckwith reaction, a ring-expansion of carbonyl compounds alkoxy radicals, is a powerful approach for synthesizing medium to large-sized carbocyclic scaffolds, which takes advantage of existing ring structures and avoids entropic and enthalpic factors that arise from the end-to-end cyclization strategies. However, the Dowd-Beckwith ring-expansion followed by H-atom abstraction is still the dominating pathway, which hampers its synthetic applications, and there currently exist no reports on the functionalization of ring-expanded radicals using non-carbon based nucleophilic reagents. Herein, we report a redox-neutral decarboxylative Dowd-Beckwith/radical-polar crossover (RPC) sequence that delivers functionalized medium-sized carbocyclic compounds with broad functional group tolerance.

Directing Aβ to adopt a conformation that is free from aggregation and cell toxicity is an attractive and viable strategy to design therapeutics for Alzheimer's disease. Over the years, extensive efforts have been made to disrupt the aggregation of Aβ using various types of inhibitors but with limited success. Herein, we report the inhibition of aggregation of Aβ and disintegration of matured fibrils of Aβ into smaller assemblies by a 15-mer cationic amphiphilic peptide.

Described herein is the enantioselective synthesis of indole-fused ε-lactones by the N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-Lewis acid cooperative catalyzed dynamic kinetic resolution (DKR) of generated γ,γ-disubstituted indole 2-carboxaldehydes. The Bi(OTf)-catalyzed Friedel-Crafts reaction of indole-2-carboxaldehyde with 2-hydroxy phenyl -quinone methides generates γ,γ-disubstituted indole 2-carboxaldehydes, which in the presence of NHC and Bi(OTf) afforded the desired tetracyclic ε-lactones in up to 93% yield and >99 : 1 er.

Herein, we report for the first time a highly emissive higher-order assembled structure of BSA-Au NCs in the presence of cucurbit[7]uril, which enhances the absolute fluorescence quantum yield of BSA-Au NCs up to 40%. Cucurbit[7]uril neutralizes the surface charge of BSA-Au NCs, and hence aggregation happens. This aggregation shows reversible disaggregation in the presence of adamantylamine.

Carbon fiber reinforced epoxy (CFRE) laminates have become a significant component in aircraft industries over the years due to their superior mechanical and highly tunable properties. However, the interfacial area between the fibers and the matrix continues to pose a significant challenge in debonding and delamination, leading to significant failures in such components. Therefore, since the advent of such laminated structures, researchers have worked on several interfacial modifications to better the mechanical properties and enhance such laminated systems' service life.

The inherent tendency of BR fragments to undergo coupling is utilized to predict MBH and M@BH complexes (where M = Mn and Fe). Electronic structure analysis of MnBH (7) shows that the metal d-orbitals stabilize the interlocked boron wheel structure, forming an unprecedented geometrical pattern with Möbius aromaticity. The two additional electrons in Fe@BH (8) stabilize a twisted [10]boraannulene structure.
