Purpose: The objective of our study is to understand the factors associated with non-adherence to the physician's follow-up advice by persons with glaucoma.

Methods: We use a four-year panel dataset containing demographic, clinical, and intervention details and doctor's advised follow-up date for a random sample of 2,622 glaucoma patients from an Indian tertiary eye care hospital. We model this unique "advised follow-up date" in multivariate logistic regressions to identify factors associated with patients' coming early or late as against on-time.

We infer market expectations regarding the relationship between firm internationalization and the long-term impact of the Covid-19 pandemic by using a novel approach to decompose global stock prices into their short- and long-term value components. In general, firms with a greater proportion of foreign assets show greater losses in the long-term value component, suggesting investor expectations of higher supply-chain restructuring costs for such firms. Also, investors appear to have priced in the likely permanent benefits of such restructuring for firms from emerging Asian economies, as these economies may be well-placed as alternative sourcing bases to China.

What caused global stock market meltdown during the COVID pandemic-Lockdown stringency or investor panic?

This paper isolates the different effects of COVID-19 on the stock market returns and identifies the channels through which each of the effects influences the returns. Using a sample of twelve countries with most liquid stock markets, we find that the panic caused by the pandemic affects the stock return negatively through the updation of market risk premium channel. The stringency of the lockdown has a two-way effect on the stock market returns, whereas it affects the return negatively through the updation of growth forecasts, it also affects the return positively through the updation of market risk premium.

We marshaled genealogical data on nearly 40,000 scientists who published 1,167,518 papers in biomedicine, chemistry, math, or physics between 1960 and 2017 to investigate the relationship between mentorship and protégé achievement. In our data, we find groupings of mentors with similar records and reputations who attracted protégés of similar talents and expected levels of professional success.
