Colloidal all-inorganic CsPbI perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) have shown tremendous potential in photovoltaic applications in recent years due to their outstanding optoelectronic properties that general metal halide perovskites offer, along with the added advantages that originates from size reduction and the quantum confinement effect. However, the issue of low carrier mobility in PQD films caused by insulating organic ligands capped on the PQD surface still remains to be addressed while aiming for high-efficiency PQD solar cells. Herein, we propose a novel strategy that takes benefits of ionic liquids, which can offer the high polarity and the electron donating ability to boost the mobility of PQD films in photovoltaic devices.

Erlotinib-based EGFR targeted therapy has proven significant clinical improvement against non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the anticancer activity of Erlotinib (Ertb) is limited by the development of Ertb resistance and possess a challenge to clinicians and patients. To explore a better therapeutic strategy, we evaluated Ertb in combinations with different natural products.

Neuropathic pain is a maladaptive pain phenotype that results from injury or damage to the somatosensory nervous system and is proposed to be linked to a cascade of events including excitotoxicity, oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, neuroinflammation and apoptosis. Oxidative/nitrosative stress is a critical link between neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration through poly (ADP) ribose polymerase (PARP) overactivation. Hence, the present study investigated the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of peroxynitrite decomposition catalyst; FeTMPyP in chronic constriction injury (CCI) of sciatic nerve-induced neuropathy in rats.

The splitting of water into hydrogen and oxygen under visible light is an emerging phenomenon in green energy technology. Nevertheless, selecting an appropriate photocatalyst is rather significant to enhance hydrogen production on a large scale. In this context, organic photocatalysts have received considerable attention owing to their larger surface area, control in diffusion adsorption, nanostructures and electronic properties.

The cancer-testis antigen CTCFL/BORIS (Brother of Regulator of Imprinted Sites) also known, as a paralog of CTCF -the "master weaver of the genome" is a key transcriptional regulator. Both CTCF and BORIS can bind to the same promoter sequence and recruit diverse proteins. BORIS is also known to be associated with actively translating ribosomes suggesting new roles of BORIS in gene expression.

Background: Inflammation-mediated lung injury is a major cause of health problems in many countries and has been the leading cause of morbidity/mortality in intensive care units. In the current COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of the patients experienced serious pneumonia resulting from inflammation (Acute respiratory distress syndrome/ARDS). Pathogenic infections cause cytokine release syndrome (CRS) by hyperactivation of immune cells, which in turn release excessive cytokines causing ARDS.

This study investigated the impact of the potential cellulose degrading bacteria that could be bioaugmented in the solid-state anaerobic digestion (SSAD) of bagasse to enhance the methane yield. The prospective anaerobic cellulose degrading bacteria was isolated from the soil. SSAD experiments were organized with & without bioaugmentation with a substrate total solid (TS) of 25%, 30%, 40% and 50% at an optimized feed to microorganism (F/M) ratio of 1:1.

Psoriasis is a most common chronic autoimmune-arbitrated cutaneous inflammatory skin disorder by unclear pathogenesis. In this current study we demonstrated the effect of galangin (GAL) on imiquimod (IMQ)-induced psoriasis-like skin inflammation and decipher its possible protective mechanism which has not been investigated. The in vivo results revealed that GAL at 1% w/w and 2% w/w for six consecutive days markedly reduced IMQ-induced PASI scoring, skin, ear thickness, hematological markers, levels of nitrites, TBARS, MPO, histopathological, as well modulated the protein levels of pro-inflammatory mediators of COX-2, iNOS, NF-κB pathway and pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-17, IL-23, IL-1β in the skin and also IL-6, TNF-α in both skin and serum.

The spectrum of health complications instigated by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19, caused by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 or SARS-CoV-2) pandemic has been diverse and complex. Besides the evident pulmonary and cardiovascular threats, accumulating clinical data points to several neurological complications, which are more common in elderly COVID-19 patients. Recent pieces of evidence have marked events of neuro infection and neuroinvasion, producing several neurological complications in COVID-19 patients; however, a systematic understanding of neuro-pathophysiology and manifested neurological complications, more specifically in elderly COVID-19 patients is largely elusive.

Debilitating mental illness like depression and related mood disorders is due to the disruption in circuitry that controls emotion, motivation, and reward, characterized by disparate phenotypes like decrease in socialization, motivation, threshold for threat apprehension, etc. Chronic stress is a major factor in the etiology of these disorders. Here, using a chronic unpredictable stress (CUS) paradigm the characterization of an array of mood disorder phenotypes in adult zebrafish, in comparison to normal control unstressed fish, was achieved using a battery of behavioral assays including novel ones comprising social interaction test, feed approach test, threat response test and novel tank test.

Depression, anxiety and related mood disorders are major psychiatric illnesses worldwide, and chronic stress appears to be one of the primary underlying causes. Therapeutics to treat these debilitating disorders without a relapse are limited due to the incomplete molecular understanding of their etiopathology. In addition to the well-studied genetic component, research in the past two decades has implicated diverse epigenetic mechanisms in mediating the negative effects of chronic stressful events on neural circuits.

Hypoxia, the major cause of ischemic injury, leads to debilitating disease in infants via birth asphyxia and cerebral palsy, whereas in adults via heart attack and stroke. A widespread, natural protective phenomenon termed 'hypoxic preconditioning' (PH) occurs when prior exposures to hypoxia eventually result in robust hypoxia resistance. Accordingly, we have developed and optimized a novel model of hypoxic preconditioning in adult zebrafish to mimic the tolerance of mini stroke(s) in human, which appears to protect against the severe damage inflicted by a major stroke event.

Background: Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive inflammatory disorder driven by a fibrotic cascade of events such as epithelial to mesenchymal transition, extracellular matrix production and collagen formation in the lungs in a sequential manner. IPF incidences were raising rapidly across the world. FDA approved pirfenidone and nintedanib (tyrosine kinase inhibitors) are being used as a first-line treatment drugs for IPF, however, neither the quality of life nor survival rates have been improved because of patient noncompliance due to multiple side effects.

Despite the great success in the increase in the power conversion efficiency of lead halide perovskite solar cells, the toxicity of lead and the unstable nature of the materials are still major concerns for their wider implementation at the industrial level. Herein, large-size single crystals (SCs) are developed in HI solution by using a temperature lowering method and nanocrystals (NCs) of A Bi I perovskites [where A=CH NH (MA) , Cs , and (Rb Cs ) ] are formed in ethanol (EtOH) and toluene (TOL). The stability of A Bi I perovskite is investigated by immersing the SCs for 24 h and pellets for 12 h in water.

The rapidly evolving coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2- SARS-CoV-2), has greatly burdened the global healthcare system and led it into crisis in several countries. Lack of targeted therapeutics led to the idea of repurposing broad-spectrum drugs for viral intervention. In vitro analyses of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ)'s anecdotal benefits prompted its widespread clinical repurposing globally.
