This work describes the dissipative constraint-based load frequency control problem for multi-area power system under load disturbances. Particularly, a new model incorporating time-varying delays and cyber-attacks are widespread in communication networks, significantly impacting control and stability. Consequently, the state-space equations of the addressed model are formulated and analyzed under the impact of false data injection attacks, and time-varying delays.

A septuagenarian man presented with a visual acuity of hand motions and a large refractory macular hole (MH). We performed an autologous retinal transplant (ART) and covered the graft with fibrin glue without any endotamponade. The autograft was found to have dislocated from the MH when the patient was reviewed 1 week later.

A calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumour (CEOT) is a rare benign odontogenic tumour of epithelial origin accounting for approximately 1% of all odontogenic tumours. The intraosseous form occurs more commonly in the posterior mandible whereas the extraosseous form is common in the anterior maxilla. CEOT is often asymptomatic and presents with a painless swelling of the mandible.

A young man in his 30s presented to us with multiple episodes of syncope and exertional dyspnoea for the last 2 weeks. He was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the lower one-third of the oesophagus in 2021 for which he was treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy, followed by McKeown oesophagectomy. At 2-year follow-up, he had developed a soft tissue swelling in the scalp, which was diagnosed as a tumour recurrence and radiotherapy was initiated.

Vulnerability is the perception of being exposed and susceptible to potential harm or adversity. This study underscores the critical role of individual women's perceived vulnerability in shaping their sense of safety and risk of victimization within the urban landscape. Focusing on women aged 15-49 years in Sambalpur city and its surrounding areas, the research draws on in-depth interviews and focus group discussions, analyzed through a phenomenological lens.

This research focuses on Generation Z (Gen Z) students, specifically those in nursing colleges. Gen Z individuals display unique characteristics in terms of thinking, personality, lifestyle, and learning preferences compared to preceding generations, necessitating adaptations in teaching methodologies within nursing schools. This study explores the effectiveness of the Jigsaw Technique (JST) in engaging first-year undergraduate nursing students in learning process.

This study focuses on the development of an efficient membrane-based clarification process to enhance the performance of subsequent ultrafiltration and produce high-quality sweet lime juice. A range of casting solutions were prepared using a blend of pore-forming polymers, including polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and cellulose acetate (CA), dissolved in dimethylformamide (DMF) solvent through the phase inversion technique. To further enhance the membrane's performance, four biopolymers poly (lactic acid) (PLA), xanthan gum, chitosan, and gelatin were incorporated, with and without clay, to refine its structure, porosity, and surface properties.

Catalytic Applications Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, School of Basic Sciences, Faculty of Science, Manipal University Jaipur, Dehmi Kalan, Jaipur 303007, Rajasthan, India. Electronic address:

In the present study, biopolymeric Schiff base (SB) ligands were synthesized from chitosan and isatin. Consequently, their earth abundant transition metal complexes of cobalt and copper were synthesized. All compounds were extensively characterized using FTIR and UV spectroscopy, thermo-gravimetric (TG) analysis, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and FESEM (field emission scanning electron microscopy).

For monoclonal antibody drug products as for other biologics, while the innovator drug products first becomes commercially available, they are often followed by one or more biosimilar products. These biosimilars often differ from the innovator product, as well as from each other, in their formulation composition. However, the impact of the formulation composition on the stability of the active pharmaceutical ingredient subjected to different 'stresses' is still not understood.

Introduction: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a leading cause of dementia, characterized by progressive neurodegeneration and cognitive dysfunction. The disease aetiology is closely associated with proteinopathies, mitochondrial abnormalities, and elevated ROS generation, which are some of the primary markers for AD brains.

Objectives: The current research was intended to elucidate the chemical interaction of β-pinene against potential targets and evaluate its neuroprotective potential in ICV-STZ-induced sAD.

Follicular ovarian cysts (FOCs) are prevalent reproductive disorders in both humans and animals, especially in livestock, where they cause economic losses by reducing fertility and productivity. FOCs are marked by a dominant follicle that fails to ovulate, disrupting the estrous cycle and reproductive efficiency. Previous studies indicate that the follicular fluid (FF) in cystic ovaries shows oxidative imbalance, affecting oocyte quality by altering glutathione peroxidase (GPX1) and selenium pathways.

NKAP: a new m6A RNA binding protein predicts prognosis and immunotherapy response in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.

J Stomatol Oral Maxillofac Surg

January 2025

Clinical Genetics Lab, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Research, Saveetha Dental College and Hospital, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS), Saveetha University, Chennai, India.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate whether NKAP (nuclear factor κB activating protein) serves as a prognostic marker and predictive biomarker for immunotherapy response in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).

Methods: A retrospective cohort study combined with in vitro analyses was conducted. NKAP mRNA expression levels were assessed in 520 HNSCC tumor tissues and 44 normal tissues from the TCGA dataset and validated in a clinical cohort (n=32).

Tuberculosis (TB), caused by Mycobacterium TB, is the most significant infectious cause of mortality across the globe. While TB disease can prey on immunocompetent individuals, it is more likely to occur in immunocompromised individuals. Immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs) are a group of diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurative, autoimmune blistering diseases, and others) where there may be a need for systemic immunosuppression to control the disease manifestations, treat symptoms and improve long term outcomes.

Ex situ conservation of plant genetic resources (PGR) plays a crucial role in sustainable growth and development, as highlighted by the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation (GSPC). Seed genebanks, a key component of ex situ conservation, have been instrumental in preserving plant diversity. However, challenges arise with the conservation of non-orthodox (recalcitrant and intermediate) seeds and vegetative tissues, which are not amenable to storage in traditional genebanks at temperatures of -20°C.

Association between hydroclimatic factors and vegetation health: Impact of climate change in the past and future.

Sci Total Environ

January 2025

Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Kharagpur 721302, West Bengal, India. Electronic address:

This study investigates the potential impact of future climate scenarios designated by different shared socioeconomic pathways (SSPs) on vegetation health. Considering the entire Indian mainland as the study region, which exhibits a diverse range of climate and vegetation regimes, we analysed long-term past (1981-2020) and future (2021-2100) changes in vegetation greenness across seven vegetation types and four seasons. In order to gain insight into the intricate interrelationships between vegetation and hydroclimatic factors (soil moisture, precipitation, solar radiation, and temperature), a Standardized Vegetation Index (SVI) is used as a proxy for vegetation health, and a bivariate copula-based probabilistic model is developed incorporating a Combined Climate Index (CCI) derived through Supervised Principal Component Analysis (SPCA) and the SVI.
