This research seeks to investigate the viability of using Tectona grandis wood powder as a reinforcement material in polymer matrix composites because of the increasing awareness of natural fibers that offer impressive characteristics and cost-effectiveness in addition to being biodegradable. The fibers were mixed with epoxy resin, and the mixture was passed through a filter to remove fiber bundles and then compression molded to form composites, which were cured in an oven. Different experiments were performed on the composite to measure its mechanical characteristics.

Background: Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) are rapidly advancing due to the improved resolution and completeness provided by Telomere-to-Telomere (T2T) and pangenome assemblies. While recent advancements in GWAS methods have primarily focused on identifying genetic variants associated with discrete phenotypes, approaches for quantitative traits (QTs) remain underdeveloped. This has often led to significant variants being overlooked due to biases from genotype multicollinearity and strict p-value thresholds.

Identification and validation of quantitative trait loci (QTL) governing desired phenotype of target trait is a prerequisite to implement marker-assisted selection in any crop including dolichos bean. Under this premise, we used two mapping populations (MPs) to detect and cross population validate QTL controlling fresh pod yield. One of the MPs consisted of F individuals (MP1) derived from crossing two elite genotypes, the second MP consisted of random RILs (MP2) derived from a different pair of elite genotypes.
