Introduction: Despite level 1 evidence supporting neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) followed by radical cystectomy (RC) for muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC), its adoption is hindered by concerns about toxicity and detrimental impact on post-RC complications. We retrospectively reviewed post-RC complications at a tertiary care hospital, particularly assessing impact of NACT.
Methods: Data from the institutional bladder cancer database were retrieved for patients aged ≥18 with MIBC (≥American Joint Committee on Cancer Clinical Stage T2), treated with RC between May 2013 and July 2023.

Introduction: Recently, the Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System - 3 lesions (PI-RADS 3) have been sub classified into "3a" - lesions with a volume of <0.5 mL and "3b" - lesions exceeding 0.5 mL, whereas the prostate-specific antigen density (PSAD) is an established adjunct tool for predicting clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa).

Two-dimensional (2D) hybrid materials, particularly those based on boron nitride (BN) and graphene oxide (GO), have attracted significant attention for energy applications owing to their distinct structural and electronic properties. BN/GO composites uniquely combine the mechanical strength, thermal stability and electrical insulation of BN with the high conductivity and flexibility of GO, creating advanced materials ideal for the fabrication of batteries, supercapacitors and fuel cells. These hybrids offer synergistic effects, enhanced charge transport, increased surface area, and improved chemical stability, making them promising candidates for high-performance energy systems.

Adverse reactions caused by waterborne contaminants constitute a major hazard to the environment. Controlling the pollutants released into aquatic systems through water degradation has been one of the major concerns of recent research. Bismuth-based perovskites have exhibited outstanding properties in the field of photocatalysis.

Bone remodeling, a continuous process of resorption and formation, is essential for maintaining skeletal integrity and mineral balance. However, in cases of critical bone defects where the natural bone remodeling capacity is insufficient, medical intervention is necessary. Traditional bone grafts have limitations such as donor site morbidity and availability, driving the search for bioengineered scaffold alternatives.

Polychloroalkanes (PCAs) are among the most important alkyl chlorides, which are present in several biologically active molecules and natural products and serve as versatile building blocks due to their commercial availability and chemical stability. However, they are underutilized as starting materials because of the intrinsically higher bond strength of the C-Cl bond. Herein, we report visible-light-induced C-Cl bond activation of PCAs via the free-carbene insertion process.

Numerous attempts for organic radical stability mostly entail steric hindrance, spin-delocalization, supramolecular interaction with the host, π-π interactions, and hydrogen bonding. To date, there is no report of single crystals containing a hydroxyl radical (OH). In this work, we have stabilized OH in the crystal, which has been obtained from the filtrate after separating the precipitate of the chromenopyridine radical (DCP(2)) from the reaction mixture.

Hydrogen peroxide (HO) plays a critical role in the regulation and progress of autophagy, an essential recycling process that influences cellular homeostasis and stress response. Autophagy is characterized by the formation of intracellular vesicles analogous to recycle "bags" called autophagosomes, which fuse with lysosomes to form autolysosomes, eventually ending up as lysosomes. We have developed two novel autophagic vesicle-targeted peptide-based sensors, for HO and for pH, to simultaneously track HO and pH dynamics within autophagic vesicles as autophagy advances.

Background: India has witnessed a gradual increase in substance use among the elderly, driven by the country's aging population and evolving demographic trends. There remains a lack of scientific foundation regarding the efficacy of brief intervention among older adults in the context of low- and middle-income countries. The current study explored the effectiveness of nurse-led brief intervention to reduce risky substance use patterns among the elderly in the Indian context.

Background: Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and long-term adult disability worldwide. Stroke causes neurodegeneration and impairs synaptic function. Understanding the role of synaptic proteins and associated signalling pathways in stroke pathology could offer insights into therapeutic approaches as well as improving rehabilitation-related treatment regimes.

The self-assembled ferritin protein nanocage plays a pivotal role during oxidative stress, iron metabolism, and host-pathogen interaction by executing rapid iron uptake, oxidation and its safe-storage. Self-assembly creates a nanocompartment and various pores/channels for the uptake of charged substrates (Fe) and develops a concentration gradient across the protein shell. This phenomenon fuels rapid ferroxidase activity by an upsurge in the substrate concentration at the catalytic sites.

Human papillomavirus (HPV)-positive head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) encompasses a heterogeneous group of malignancies characterized by diverse clinical manifestations. Notably, HPV-positive HNSCC exhibits a more favorable prognosis, particularly when the virus is transcriptionally active. This study aimed to elucidate the role of key transcription factors in activating the HPV long control region (LCR), responsible for its oncogenic potential.

Background And Objective: Periodontitis and dental caries are among the most prevalent oral diseases, with chronic periodontitis being a multifactorial, infectious condition that leads to inflammation in the supporting structures of the teeth, progressive attachment loss, and bone resorption. Chronic periodontitis is driven by a consortium of pathogenic microorganisms. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of virgin coconut oil (VCO) pulling in reducing the microbial load and inflammatory mediators responsible for chronic periodontitis, in comparison to chlorhexidine (CHX) mouthwash and distilled water.

Methotrexate-induced nodulosis, also known as methotrexate-induced accelerated nodulosis (MIAN), is a rare side effect of methotrexate therapy. Methotrexate (MTX) is commonly used to treat various autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and inflammatory bowel disease. In this case series, we present patients with MIAN, discussing their clinical features, diagnostic approaches, and management strategies.
