Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) has been known for its high propensity of metastasis to unusual locations, and jaw bones (JBs) are one among those sites. The literature has reported several studies analyzing metastatic tumors to the oral region, but very little research work has been published to date to analyze solely JB metastasis (JBM) via RCC. The goal of this study was to examine the published cases of metastasis to JBs from RCC as the sole primary source till date.

Dentin hypersensitivity is primarily caused by the exposure of dentinal tubules due to various factors, so the key to treatment is to effectively seal these exposed tubules. However, traditional dentinal tubule sealants used in clinical practice often fail to adhere securely to the tubule surface when exposed to external stimuli, resulting in a recurrence of sensitivity. In this study, we developed a silicon micromotor that moved autonomously and loaded with silver nanoparticles and a photosensitive adhesive for dentin sensitivity therapy.

A self-propulsion Janus gallium (Ga)/magnesium (Mg) bimetallic micromotor is designed with favorable biocompatibility and antimicrobial properties as a therapeutic strategy for periodontitis. The Janus Ga/Mg micromotors are fabricated by microcontact printing technique to asymmetrically modify liquid metallic gallium onto magnesium microspheres. Hydrogen bubbles produced by the magnesium-water reaction can provide the driving performance of up to 31.

Background Mandibular ridge resorption is a common problem in edentulous individuals, particularly in post-menopausal women. Body mass index (BMI) has been suggested as a potential factor influencing ridge resorption, but the relationship between the two remains unclear. Methods A study was conducted to evaluate mandibular ridge resorption in post-menopausal denture-wearing females and its relation to body mass index.

Background: Attaining adequate osseointegration and mitigating infections are paramount issues in implantology, especially within dental and orthopaedic domains. Titanium implants have been utilised for their biocompatibility and mechanical strength; yet, problems such as peri‑implant infections and inadequate bone integration may undermine their efficacy. Coating titanium implants with iron nanoparticles (FeNp) has surfaced as a promising approach to improve osseointegration and antibacterial characteristics.

Aim: The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between periodontal disease severity, cigarette smoking, gutka chewing, and type 2 diabetes mellitus by estimating, correlating, and comparing blood levels of vitamin B12, folic acid, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) in patients with chronic periodontitis.
Methodology: A cross-sectional research study conducted at Rama Dental College Hospital and Research Centre in Kanpur involved 240 patients with chronic periodontitis, who also exhibited additional risk factors including smoking, gutkha chewing, and type-2 diabetes mellitus. Divided into four groups of 60 individuals each, the study aimed to estimate and correlate blood levels of vitamin B12, folic acid, and ESR.

The impact of multiple reuse on the alterations in internal threads of four different implant analogous composed of different materials (stainless steel (SS), aluminum (Al), titanium (Ti), and zirconia (Zr) by utilizing two die materials at different time durations is of interest to dentists. The spacing between the threads was measured using the impressions created for the interior threads of implant analogs, or replicas by stereomicroscope set to x50 at 0th, 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 12th interval. It was observed that there was decrease in distance between threads 1-2 as the increasing reuse at increasing time intervals in all implants analogs.

Measuring the electrically evoked stapedius reflex during the fitting of cochlear implants (CIs) provides a reliable estimation of maximum comfort levels, resulting in the programming of the CI with high hearing comfort and good speech understanding. Detection of the stapedius reflex and the required stimulation level on each implant channel is already being performed during surgery, whereby intraoperative stapedius reflexes are observed through the surgical microscope. Intraoperative stapedius reflex detection is both an indicator that the auditory nerve is responding to electrical stimulation up to the brainstem and a test for the ability to perform postoperative stapedius reflex measurements.
