(1) Background: Hypersensitivity reactions to metals may arise in predisposed patients chronically exposed to metallic materials, including dental implants made of titanium alloys. The purpose of this article was to systematically review titanium allergy manifestations in patients treated with dental implants and report a clinical case; (2) Methods: A systematic electronic search was performed for articles published in the English language until July 2021. The following eligibility criteria were adopted: (1) Population: individuals undergoing titanium and/or titanium alloy implant-supported rehabilitations; (2) Exposure: peri-implant soft tissue reactions attributable to implant insertion; (3) Outcome: evidence of titanium allergy, diagnostic methods, and forms of resolution; (3) Results: The included studies, in summary, presented evidence that titanium should not be considered an inert material, being able to trigger allergic reactions, and may be responsible for implant failure.

Aim: The present study evaluated the clinical and radiological stability of hard and soft tissues following alveolar socket preservation (ASP) procedure with a follow-up of 5 year from implant insertion.
Materials And Methods: The initial sample consisted of seven patients who underwent single tooth extraction and ASP procedure by means of demineralized bovine bone mineral particles covered with a porcine-derived non-cross-linked collagen matrix (CM). Each patient received a submerged single implant in the healed site.

Aim And Objective: The aim of the present split-mouth prospective study was to evaluate clinically and histologically the bone regeneration obtained following preprosthetic vertical bone augmentation performed with titanium-reinforced dense polytetrafluoroethylene membrane (d-PM) compared to titanium mesh (TM).
Materials And Methods: Healthy adult patients presenting with bilateral partial edentulism in the posterior mandible requiring vertical ridge augmentation for implant placement purposes were consecutively included. One side of the mandible was randomly assigned to the use of d-PM, the other to TM.

Geographic tongue (GT) represents a localized type of psoriasis inversa and its burden of dermatological and oral comorbidities frequently conditions its severity and diagnosis. Currently, no epidemiological studies have evaluated GT muco-cutaneous comorbidities. We aimed to study oral and dermatological comorbidities in a large sample of GT patients.

The aspiration of objects and foreign bodies requires quick and systematic care. During emergent orotracheal intubation, accidental dental crown release can cause a threat to the patient's life. This paper aimed to report a case of foreign body (dental prosthetic crown) aspiration and its management and discuss alternative approaches.

Background/purpose: The existing literature lacks information regarding the use of digital workflows during pre-surgical planning of implant rehabilitations in resorbed edentulous ridges. Thus, the aim was to evaluate the effectiveness of computer-guided implant placement and simultaneous computer-aided guided bone regeneration (GBR) in the treatment of atrophic posterior alveolar ridges.
Materials And Methods: Partially edentulous patients requiring GBR simultaneously to implant insertion were enrolled.

The quality and quantity of peri-implant soft tissues at the crestal portion of dental implants are important aspects to consider for a long-term successful implant-supported rehabilitation. Some relevant factors attributed to the implant health include mucosal thickness and keratinization. In this respect, many techniques and materials have been described to augment and improve buccal peri-implant soft tissues.

(1) Background: This study aimed to evaluate the incorporation of hydroxyapatite/β-tricalcium phosphate blocks grafted in rabbit mandibles. (2) Methods: Topographic characterization of biomaterial was performed through scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX). Ten rabbits randomly received autogenous bone graft harvested from the tibia (Autogenous Group-AG) or synthetic biomaterial manufactured in β-tricalcium phosphate (Biomaterial Group-BG) at their right and left mandibular angles.

The successful use of osseointegrated implants in the treatment of partial or complete edentulism requires a sufficient bone support. Whenever rehabilitation in atrophic edentulous areas is needed, bone augmentation procedures are recommended. The aim is to provide adequate amount of supporting bone to achieve a prosthetically guided implant placement.

Purpose: The accuracy of fully digital model-free surgical and prosthetic procedures depends on the cumulative effect and interaction of all errors gathered along the entire workflow process. In the present case series, a technique is described that increases the accuracy in the transition from the surgical to the prosthetic phase to reduce the risk of developing prosthetic complications in the case of immediate loading protocols.
Methods: Overall, 86 dental implants were placed and immediately loaded with definitive prostheses in 11 edentulous patients following computer-guided implant surgery according to a fully digital model-free workflow.

Statement Of Problem: Correct implant placement by means of a pretreatment planning software program is still subject to deviations between the planned and achieved implant positions. Inaccuracy at this level may have drastic consequences, including neurovascular trauma. Further data are therefore needed to evaluate the accuracy of such computer-guided implant planning software programs.

Digitalization of edentulous areas restored with dental implants is still considered a demanding procedure, mainly because of the lack of fixed reference landmarks, together with an increased interimplant distance. To overcome such limitations, an auxiliary device is introduced with the 3-fold purpose of stretching the soft tissues with a fixed object connected to the scan bodies, creating areas with nonhomogeneous architectures between the implants, and shortening the interimplant distance with the interposition of solid geometric figures. The rationale was to increase the accuracy of digital scans in a cast-free digital implant workflow.

Purpose: The timing for soft tissue augmentation during implant therapy is still debated. Therefore, the present study clinically evaluated whether immediate versus delayed soft tissue augmentation procedures had an impact on the stability of peri-implant mucosal thickness (PMT).
Materials And Methods: Patients requiring a single implant posterior to the canines in association with soft tissue augmentation procedures at the buccal aspect of single implants using a connective tissue graft (CTG) were enrolled.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the preservation of alveolar dimensions in human fresh extraction sockets filled with a composite bovine bone graft by means of design of single-blind randomized clinical trial. Forty participants had monoradicular teeth extracted (one teeth in each participant), and after were randomly divided into 2 groups: individuals whose fresh sockets were filled with the composite heterologous bone graft (Biomaterial Group), or with blood clot (Control Group). After extraction, the fresh sockets were measured at their greatest mesiodistal (MD) and bucco-lingual/palatal (BL/P) distance.

Atrophy of the alveolar ridge requires bone grafting at the implant site for rehabilitation of the masticatory function with dental implants. Despite the advances in the development of bone substitutes, autogenous bone graft remains the "criterion standard" because of its osteogenic, osteoinductive, osteoconductive potential, and non-immunogenic properties. However, harvesting of autogenous bone is not exempt from donor site morbidity.
