Background: Estimation of sex of the skeletal remains plays a vital part in the identification of an individual. This study is focused on the morphometric measurements of the foramen magnum region and examining the accuracy of sexual dimorphism in the Nepalese population.
Methods: Measurements were obtained from 3D computed tomography (CT) scan of 261 Nepalese adult cranial bases with known age and sex.

Background Preterm birth affects 10% of live births and is associated with an altered left ventricular and right ventricular phenotype and increased cardiovascular disease risk in young adulthood. Because left atrial (LA) and right atrial (RA) volume and function are known independent predictors of cardiovascular outcomes, we investigated whether these were altered in preterm-born young adults. Methods and Results Preterm-born (n=200) and term-born (n=266) adults aged 18 to 39 years underwent cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging.

Background And Objectives: Declines in stroke admission, IV thrombolysis (IVT), and mechanical thrombectomy volumes were reported during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. There is a paucity of data on the longer-term effect of the pandemic on stroke volumes over the course of a year and through the second wave of the pandemic. We sought to measure the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the volumes of stroke admissions, intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), IVT, and mechanical thrombectomy over a 1-year period at the onset of the pandemic (March 1, 2020, to February 28, 2021) compared with the immediately preceding year (March 1, 2019, to February 29, 2020).

In this systematic review, we seek to clarify the impact of treatment of hyperthyroidism on pulmonary hypertension in patients with both these conditions. We included 39 of 709 articles retrieved, that studied patients with hyperthyroidism and pulmonary hypertension (PH). From these, those with a documented pre-treatment Pulmonary Artery Systolic Pressure (PASP) > 35 mmHg and complete follow up were analyzed, yielding 3 case series and 22 case reports with a total of 81 cases.

Objective: Localized subgingival minocycline hydrochloride (MH) delivery as an adjuvant to with non-surgical mechanical debridement (NSMD) is useful for the treatment of periodontitis; however, there are no trials that have assessed the efficacy of subgingival MH delivery with NSMD for the treatment of peri-implantitis in cigarette-smokers and non-smokers. This randomized controlled trial assessed the efficacy of subgingival MH delivery with NSMD for the treatment of peri-implantitis in cigarette-smokers.
Patients And Methods: Self-reported current cigarette-smokers and non-smokers with peri-implantitis were encompassed.

Objective: The aim was to assess the reported family relationships during the COVID-19 pandemic and the association between these relationships and individual, interpersonal, and country-level income in eight Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries.
Background: COVID-19 causes fear of infection, loss of loved ones, and economic problems that may affect family relationships.
Methods: Data were collected from eight MENA countries using an online survey (July-August 2020).
Background Image-quality (IQ) compromises left ventricle assessment by 3-dimensional echocardiography (3DE). Sicker/frailer patients often have suboptimal IQ, and therefore observed associations may be biased by IQ. We investigated its effect in an observational study of older people and when IQ was modified experimentally in healthy volunteers.

Purpose: Avascular necrosis of the femoral head is a common issue faced by orthopaedic surgeons that ranges between 10 and 18%, but in patients with SCD, the incidence reaches 30%. There is no definite treatment except joint arthroplasty. Regenerative medicine is an option to cure or delay joint arthroplasty.

Background A subpopulation of endothelial progenitor cells called endothelial colony-forming cells (ECFCs) may offer a platform for cellular assessment in clinical studies because of their remarkable angiogenic and expansion potentials in vitro. Despite endothelial cell function being influenced by cardiovascular risk factors, no studies have yet provided a comprehensive proteomic profile to distinguish functional (ie, more angiogenic and expansive cells) versus dysfunctional circulating ECFCs of young adults. The aim of this study was to provide a detailed proteomic comparison between functional and dysfunctional ECFCs.
