Purpose: Radiolabeled probes targeting prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) have been used in prostate cancer. Moreover, PSMA is also overexpressed on neovessels in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This study aimed to preliminarily evaluate the diagnostic effectiveness of [Ga]Ga-PSMA-617 PET/MRI for HCC.

Background: The potential of carbon ion radiation therapy (CIRT) as a curative treatment for localized prostate cancer (PCa) has garnered attention due to its characteristic dose distribution. We prospectively collected and analyzed over five years to investigate the outcomes of localized PCa treated with CIRT at our institution.
Patients And Methods: The study included patients with histologically confirmed prostate adenocarcinoma.

Primary squamous cell carcinoma of the prostate is a rare entity, with limited documented cases in the medical literature. Herein, we present a case of primary prostatic squamous cell carcinoma in a male in his 60s, detailing the clinical presentation, diagnostic workup, histopathological findings and treatment. Our case highlights the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges associated with this uncommon malignancy.

Trophoblast cell surface antigen 2 (Trop2), a transmembrane glycoprotein, plays a dual role in physiological and pathological processes. In healthy tissues, Trop2 facilitates development and orchestrates intracellular calcium signaling. However, its overexpression in numerous solid tumors shifts its function toward driving cell proliferation and metastasis, thus leading to a poor prognosis.

Rationale: Primary seminal vesicle adenocarcinoma is a rare type of male reproductive system tumor, primarily manifesting as papillary adenocarcinoma. Meanwhile, clear cell adenocarcinoma (CCA) is a common malignancy in the female reproductive system. Therefore, the occurrence of CCA in the seminal vesicle, showing ovarian homology, is even rarer.

Percutaneous image-guided ablation techniques are a consolidated therapeutic alternative for patients with high preoperative surgical risk for the management of oncological diseases in multiple body districts. Each technique has both pros and cons according to the type of energy delivered, mechanism of action, and site of application. The present article reviews the most recent literature results on ablation techniques applied in the field of genitourinary diseases (kidney, adrenal glands, prostate, and uterus), describing the advantages of the use of each technique and their technical limitations and summarizing the major recommendations from an international consensus meeting.

Objective: In this study, we retrospectively analyzed the imaging characteristics of dual-tracer Ga-prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) and F-flurodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) in metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa) patients. We analyzed the uptake modes of the dual tracers, explored clinical pathological parameters affecting the F-FDG uptake in the lesions, and evaluated their prognostic implications for prostate specific antigen progression-free survival (PSA-PFS).
Methods: A total of 41 mPCa patients who underwent dual-tracer PET/CT (Ga-PSMA and F-FDG) scans between September 2021 and January 2024 were retrospectively enrolled.

High levels of thyroid hormones are linked to increased risk and advanced stages of breast cancer. Our previous work demonstrated that the biologically active triiodothyronine (T3) facilitates mitochondrial ATP production by upregulating Ca handling proteins, thereby boosting mitochondrial Ca uptake and Krebs cycle activity. In this study, different cell types were utilized to investigate whether T3 activates a Ca-induced signaling pathway to boost cancer cell proliferation.

Introduction: Xanthogranulomatous prostatitis is a very rare benign inflammatory lesion of the prostate that may be similar to prostatic carcinoma in clinical presentation and radiological characteristics.
Case Presentation: A 77-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of high prostate-specific antigen level. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a 6.

Pancreatic metastasis is a rare malignant tumor; when it comes to multiple cancers, it may be a challenge to identify the primary lesion of new pancreatic metastases. With the continuous advancement of imaging technology, the PET/computed tomography (CT) has been widely used because of its high diagnostic accuracy and non-invasiveness. However, in the present case, the patient had history of limited small-cell lung carcinoma and prostatic cancer; the combined application of the three kinds of PET/CT was used to identify the new metastases of pancreatic and bone metastases, which suggested a high probability of primary G2 pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor with bone metastases.

Multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) and prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT are complementary imaging modalities used in the presurgical evaluation of patients with prostate cancer (PCa). The purpose of this study was to characterize clinically significant PCa (csPCa) detected and not detected by PSMA PET/CT and mpMRI, focusing on tumors detected solely by PSMA PET/CT and overlooked by mpMRI. We conducted a single-center, retrospective analysis of patients who underwent both PSMA PET/CT and mpMRI within 3 mo of each other and before radical prostatectomy.

Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) is a theranostic target for metastatic prostate cancer (PCa). However, castration-resistant PCa (CRPC) may lose PSMA expression after systemic therapy. Fibroblast activation protein (FAP), expressed by carcinoma-associated fibroblasts in various cancer types, including PCa, has the potential to be an alternative target.

Background: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), a high-grade primary brain tumor, presents a formidable challenge in neuro-oncology because of its aggressive nature, infiltrative growth, and limited response to treatment. The septum pellucidum represents an uncommon and unexpected location for GBM, adding complexity to the diagnosis and management of this rare intracranial malignancy.
Observations: A 69-year-old male with a previous history of prostate carcinoma presented to an outside hospital with a 2-week history of a "trance-like state" and cognitive decline.

Context: Bone metastases from prostate adenocarcinoma usually present osteoblastic characteristics in imaging studies.
Method: Case report.
Results: A 77-year-old patient diagnosed with prostate adenocarcinoma with osteoblastic metastases in the dorsal spine and ribs, empirically treated with decongestants for symptoms associated with nasal polyposis, presented with binocular diplopia and ptosis of the right eyelid.

Prostate cancer is a heterogeneous disease with a spectrum of pathology and outcomes ranging from indolent to lethal. Although there have been recent advancements in prognostic tissue biomarkers, limitations still exist. We leveraged matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization imaging of formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded prostate cancer specimens to determine if N-linked glycans expressed in the extracellular matrix of lethal neuroendocrine prostate cancer were also expressed in conventional prostate adenocarcinomas that were associated with poor outcomes.

Context: Tumor volume doubling time (TVDT) is emerging as a useful tool in predicting oncologic outcomes. There is limited data on the prognostic role of TVDT in metastatic medullary thyroid cancer (MTC).
Purpose: The goal of this study was to assess the value of TVDT in predicting disease-specific survival (DSS) in patients with hereditary and sporadic MTC.

Positron emission tomography (PET) using radiolabeled prostate-specific membrane antigen targeting PET-imaging agents has been increasingly used over the past decade for imaging and directing prostate carcinoma treatment. Here, we summarize the available literature data on radiomics and machine learning using these imaging agents in prostate carcinoma. Gleason scores derived from biopsy and after resection are discordant in a large number of prostate carcinoma patients.

Laminin, fibronectin, and collagen IV are pivotal extracellular matrix (ECM) components. The ECM environment governs the fundamental properties of tumors, including proliferation, vascularization, and invasion. Given the critical role of cell-matrix adhesion in malignant tumor progression, we hypothesize that the concentrations of these proteins may be altered in the plasma of patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC).
