Objective: Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-PET/CT has shown considerable promise in the evaluation of prostate cancer bone metastases; however, data utilizing a histopathologic reference standard in this setting are limited. We therefore sought to evaluate the diagnostic performance of PSMA-PET/CT using a consistent histopathologic gold standard in the form of bone biopsy.
Materials And Methods: In this single-center, retrospective study, we identified 80 patients with prostate cancer who underwent CT-guided bone biopsy of a tracer-avid osseous lesion on PSMA-PET/CT performed with F-piflufolastat.

Purpose: Orbital inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMTs) are a rare tumor with intermediate biological potential. We analyzed a series of orbital IMTs to determine their unique features.
Methods: Records from patients with pathologically confirmed IMT at Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University, between January 2004 and August 2022, were reviewed for their ocular presentation and treatment outcomes.

Background: Bone is the most frequent site of metastasis for breast cancer (BC). Metastatic BC cells interact with bone cells, including osteoclasts and osteoblasts, creating a cancer niche where they seed and proliferate. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are regulators of breast-to-bone metastasis progression.

Rationale: Splenic metastases concomitant with abscesses are rare and challenging for clinicians. The primary treatment options include splenectomy and ultrasound-guided percutaneous perforation and drainage.
Patient Concerns: A case of splenic abscess in a colon cancer patient with splenic metastasis who developed chills and fever for approximately 2 weeks.

Rationale: Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) originate from neuroendocrine cells and they are depicted with both nerve cells as well as hormone-producing cells. These tumors were initially discovered in extracranial locations and central nervous system involvement is often a result of metastasis. Herein, we present a very rare case of primary intracranial neuroendocrine tumor (PINET) that masqueraded as meningioma at the sphenoid ridge with metastasis to the spinal cord in a patient without a known history of extracranial NET at the time of diagnosis.

This study aimed to assess the diagnostic capability of quantitative parameters from whole-body bone single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) in detecting bone metastases in prostate cancer patients; Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 82 prostate cancer patients who underwent staging bone scintigraphy with a full-ring 360° Cadmium-Zinc-Telluride (CZT) SPECT/CT system. From the SPECT/CT images, we measured the maximum (SUVmax) and mean (SUVmean) standardized uptake values at six normal bone sites (skull, humerus, thoracic spine, lumbar spine, iliac bone, and femur), and the SUVmax for both metastatic and benign bone lesions. Ratios of lesion SUVmax-to-maximum and mean uptake values at the skull, humerus, and femur were computed for each lesion; Results: SUVmax and SUVmean at the skull and femur exhibited significantly lower variance compared to those at the thoracic spine, lumbar spine, and iliac bone, and revealed no significant differences between patients with and without bone metastasis.

Solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs) are classified as fibroblastic/myofibroblastic tumors that originate from CD34-positive dendritic cells and usually occur in the pleura. In this paper, we describe a case of SFT within the joint cavity of the left knee. A 60-year-old man was admitted to hospital due to swelling in the left knee for the past 8 months without relevant trauma history.

Mesenchymal chondrosarcoma (MCS) is a rare, aggressive subtype of chondrosarcoma characterized by biphasic histology, often misdiagnosed due to its rarity and histological resemblance to other small round cell tumors. It predominantly affects adolescents and young adults. We report a 27-year-old male presenting with a progressively enlarging, painless mass in the right inframammary region, initially attributed to muscular strain.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the possibility of distant organ metastasis using an algorithm developed to evaluate the morphology and localization of lung masses.
Methods: Patients diagnosed with lung cancer between 2016 and 2023 were included. The lesion's morphological characteristics, proximity to important structures, and maximum standardized uptake value were recorded.

Background: Dural metastasis (DM) remains one of the most challenging clinical scenarios in breast cancer treatment. To date, no clear standard care of dural metastases has been established. We sought to identify the progression pattern or treatment strategies that could possibly improve prognosis of breast cancer patients with DM.

This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of cisplatin (CDDP) liposomes. A patient with multiple recurrent liver metastases from metastatic nasal carcinoma was administered CDDP liposomes with consent. Magnetic resonance imaging showed that the patient remained stable disease; however, no apparent side effects were observed, and blood draw data showed no worsening of renal function.

Unlabelled: In the practical work of a radiologist or oncologist, especially in the context of individualized treatment, there is a need for fast and in-depth diagnostics. Radiomics and artificial intelligence can be of great help here. Quantitative and qualitative assessments obtained in this way act as decision support for the physician.

Purpose To evaluate the diagnostic performance of gallium 68 (Ga)-DOTA-NaI3-octreotide (Ga-DOTANOC) and fluorine 18 (F)-fluoro-l-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (F-FDOPA) PET/CT in detecting recurrent or metastatic paragangliomas. Materials and Methods This single-center retrospective study included patients with paragangliomas who underwent both Ga-DOTANOC PET/CT and F-FDOPA PET/CT between August 2021 and December 2023. The diagnostic performance of these two tracers in detecting recurrent or metastatic tumors was compared using several metrics, including sensitivity, negative predictive value, and accuracy.

Myeloid sarcoma (MS) is a rare extramedullary tumor originating from immature bone marrow cells. MS of the breast is an extremely uncommon disease with non-specific clinical and radiological features. The present case report describes a distinctive case of MS of the breast, which posed diagnostic challenges due to the absence of typical imaging characteristics at the time of presentation.
