[A case of pembrolizumab-induced sclerosing cholangitis that was responsive to high-dose steroid therapy].

An 80-year-old woman was treated with pembrolizumab for non-small cell lung carcinoma. The hepatobiliary enzymes of the patient were elevated before the start of the ninth treatment cycle. The patient was diagnosed with pembrolizumab-induced sclerosing cholangitis based on magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography and liver biopsy.

In 2018, we published the latest full clinical practice guidelines on the basis of those provided by the Japanese Lung Cancer Society Guidelines Committee. The purpose of this study was to update those recommendations, especially for the treatment of metastatic or recurrent -mutated NSCLC.

Increased Serum-Immunoglobulin G4 Levels in a 12-Year-Old Male Patient With Central Diabetes Insipidus.

Immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4)-related disorders are characterized by tissue hypertrophy due to IgG4-positive cell infiltration and increased serum IgG4 levels. IgG4-related hypophysitis (IgG4-RH) is characterized by pituitary hypertrophy, IgG4-positive cell infiltration, central diabetes insipidus, and increased serum IgG4 levels. Effect of Rehabilitation Nutrition on a Post-Acute Severe COVID-19 Patient: A Case Report.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may lead to post-acute physical function deterioration due to intensive-care-unit-acquired weakness-related sarcopenia and dyspnea. Limited reports have examined the effects of rehabilitation and nutritional therapy on patients with post-acute COVID-19. We present the case of a 67-year-old man, who was admitted for the treatment of post-acute severe COVID-19, who benefited from rehabilitation nutrition.

Prognostic significance of preoperative PNI and CA19-9 for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma: A multi-institutional retrospective study.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical value of nutritional and immunological prognostic scores as predictors of outcomes and to identify the most promising scoring system for patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) in a multi-institutional study.

Methods: Data were retrospectively collected for 589 patients who underwent surgical resection for PDAC. Prognostic analyses were performed for overall (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) using tumor and patient-related factors, namely neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio, Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI), Glasgow Prognostic Score (GPS), modified GPS, C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio, Controlling Nutritional Status score, and the Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index.

Purpose: Sleep-disordered breathing is recognized as a comorbidity in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Among them, nocturnal hypoxemia has been reported to be associated with poor prognosis and disease progression. We developed a diagnostic algorithm to classify nocturnal desaturation from percutaneous oxygen saturation (SpO) waveform patterns: sustained pattern, periodic pattern, and intermittent pattern.

Risk factors for excessive postoperative sliding of femoral trochanteric fracture in elderly patients: A retrospective multicenter study.

Introduction: The application of a load on the internal fixation of a trochanteric fracture exerts a moment along the lag screw, causing the proximal bone fragment to slide along the lag screw, allowing contact between the proximal and distal bone fragments, which promotes healing. However, excessive sliding is related to poor postoperative outcomes. We aimed to identify the risk factors for excessive sliding.
