This paper introduces an innovative, adaptive Fractional Open-Circuit Voltage (FOCV) algorithm combined with a robust Improved Model Reference Adaptive Controller (IMRAC) for Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) in standalone photovoltaic (PV) systems. The proposed two-stage control strategy enhances energy efficiency, simplifies system operation, and addresses limitations in conventional MPPT methods, such as slow convergence, high oscillations, and susceptibility to environmental fluctuations. The first stage dynamically estimates the Maximum Power Point (MPP) voltage using a novel adaptive FOCV method, which eliminates the need for irradiance sensors or physical disconnection of PV modules.

The recent floods in Morocco, occurring from September 16 to September 30, 2024, have created significant public health challenges, particularly in the regions of Tata, Ouarzazate, and Errachidia. These flooding events have heightened the risk of epidemic diseases, including vector-borne diseases like malaria and leishmaniasis, as well as waterborne infections. This letter outlines critical recommendations to mitigate these risks, including enhanced epidemiological surveillance, distribution of insecticidetreated nets, targeted vector control programs, and community engagement.

An anomalous origin of the right coronary artery from the opposite sinus (R- ACAOS) with interarterial course is a very rare congenital anomaly with an increased risk of sudden cardiac death. A 29-year-old woman was admitted for exertional angina pectoris. A coronary computed tomography angiography with 3D multiplanar reconstruction revealed an R-ACAOS running between the aorta and pulmonary artery with high anatomical features and no ischemia-induced at the stress test.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome is a heterogeneous endocrine disorder characterized by ovarian cysts, anovulation, endocrine variations, which includes oligo-amenorrhea along with associated subfertility and hyperandrogenism manifested as acne, hirsutism, and male-pattern alopecia. Coumarins are fused benzene and pyrone ring systems that exhibit a wide spectrum of bioactivities. This study aimed to investigate the effects of 3-acetyl coumarin (3-AC) on polycystic ovarian syndrome in female rats.

Background: Wild edible plants (WEPs) that are part of the Mediterranean diet and used in Moroccan traditional food and therapy are now less or not used. This requires their valorization to avoid the threat of their disappearance. The objective of this work was therefore to determine the mineral content in the parts of some WEPs species used for their health benefits in the Rif in Morocco.

The objective of this study is to develop a calcium carbonate-based adsorbent derived from seashells, incorporated into a sodium alginate matrix (Na-Alg@CTs) to form hydrogel beads, for the efficient removal of Cu (II) and Zn (II) heavy metals from aqueous solutions. XRD, SEM/EDS, and FTIR analysis confirm the successful synthesis and characterization of the fabricated adsorbent. The adsorption study of Cu (II) and Zn (II) onto Na-Alg@CTs hydrogel beads revealed that the Langmuir model was the most suitable for characterizing the adsorption isotherms, suggesting monolayer coverage.

Introduction: Glioblastoma is a grade IV solid brain tumor and has a 15-month survival rate even after treatment. Glioblastoma development is heavily influenced by retinoblastoma protein (pRB) pathway changes. The blood-brain barrier, drug resistance, and severe toxicity of Temozolamide are key obstacles in treating glioblastoma.

This review focuses on the application of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) polymer nanocomposites (NCs) in the heavy metals (HMs) removal from contaminated water sources. This manuscript's originality consists of an in-depth analysis of recent advances in using β-cyclodextrin nanocomposites (β-CD-NCs) to remove HMs from wastewater, highlighting literature gaps, innovations, and challenges in this field, suggesting perspectives on existing theories, and outlining implications for future research directions. Combining nanoparticles with the β-CD polymer yields stable, reusable β-CD-NCs that are effective and efficient in HM adsorption.

The pervasive presence of microplastics (MPs) in the environment is well established, yet many critical questions remain about their distribution and potential impacts on both ecological and human health. To assess the risks that MPs pose, especially through marine ecosystems and human consumption, monitoring their ingestion by fish in natural environments is essential. This study investigated the contamination of 12 fish species, the most commonly consumed in Morocco, collected from the Atlantic Ocean off the Moroccan coast.
