Chronic Inflammation Induced by Escherichia coli Blood Infections as a Risk Factor for Pancreatic Cancer Progression.

Background And Aim: Pancreatic cancer exhibits a high level of aggressiveness and is associated with a high mortality rate. The study comprised 50 patients with pancreatic cancer and 50 healthy family members and friends. The main goal is to explore the biomarkers carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9), amylase, procalcitonin (PCT), and interleukin 6 (IL-6), confirm the presence of Escherichia coli infection in the patients' bloodstreams, and evaluate the effect of chronic inflammation on the progression of pancreatic cancer.

Introduction: Epistaxis is common throughout pregnancy and is usually not a cause for concern; severe nosebleeds are rare. An increased rate of nasal bleeding was observed during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Background:  Meningiomas are one of the most common primary intracranial neoplasms that may present with a wide variety of clinical symptoms, depending on multiple factors such as tumor size, location, and grade. Knowledge of the grade of meningioma correlated with their related symptoms is of great value in developing diagnostic and therapeutic approaches efficiently. Although various knowledge about meningiomas exists, there still seems to be a lacuna as far as explicit relations between tumoral characteristics and the severity or evolution of symptoms are concerned.

Does body surface area of children affect the oral health?

Objective: To evaluate relationship between oral health and body surface area among children.

Methods: The observational, cross-sectional study was conducted from January to February /2022 after approval from the ethics review committee of the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq, and comprised children of either gender aged 6-8 years who were randomly selected from primary schools in the city. Body surface area was calculated geometrically using different formulas, and the DuBois formula was used to make the intervals.

Pituitary apoplexy is a rare but potentially life-threatening condition of sudden hemorrhage or infarction within the pituitary gland that results in symptoms of acute onset such as severe headache, visual impairment, and hormonal deficiencies. Though more common in adults, the same criteria for diagnostic and management dilemmas apply to pediatric cases. We present the case of a nine-year-old boy presenting with acute-onset severe headache and significant visual deterioration suggestive of pituitary apoplexy.

There were many studies that attempt to measure the effect of growth factors of platelets through platelet-rich plasma (PRP) techniques on repairing of different human tissues and their efficiency either by platelets account or measuring the concentrations of growth factors secreted from platelets at various experimental conditions, to get the optimal parameters for platelets functions in healing processes. There were little trails dealing with laser and PRP for accelerating healing process that generally takes two methods, either by studding the stimulation effect of LLLT (low-level laser therapy), by subjecting laser irradiation on injured part and left for a period of time that is necessary for photobiostimulation of cell proliferations, then PRP treatment followed, or by studding the direct effects of laser on PRP factors activity.
