Febrile neutropenia (FN) is a frequent and serious emergency for oncologic patients undergoing chemotherapy. Using granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) as primary prophylaxis of febrile neutropenia is an integral part of the management of cancer patients. Our study aims to identify the challenges that prevent Moroccan oncologists from prescribing G-CSF for primary prevention.

For several years, the overexpression of the HER2 receptor in breast cancer has been correlated with a poor prognosis and an increased risk of developing brain metastases. Currently, the combination of anti-HER2 double blockade and taxane and trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) are considered the standard treatments for metastatic breast cancer overexpressing these receptors in the first and second line. Very recently, the development of a new antidrug conjugate, trastuzumab-deruxtecan, has improved the overall survival of patients, even in second-line treatment.

In the 2016 World Health Organization (WHO) classification of renal tumors, renal cell carcinoma with fibromyomatous stroma (RCC FMS) (formerly RCC with leiomyomatous or smooth muscle stroma) was classified as an emerging or provisional entity of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). We report a rare case of RCC FMS in a 62-year-old male patient with hypertension, type II diabetes mellitus, and early chronic kidney disease. He was referred to the Department of Urology for an incidental finding of a 2-cm-long left renal nodule on a routine abdominal ultrasound.

Retroperitoneal vascular leiomyosarcoma (RVLMS) are rare soft-tissue sarcomas that most commonly arise from large blood vessels and have a poor prognosis. We present the case of a 61-year-old woman who presented with isolated left flank pain. Abdominal computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a 5 cm retroperitoneal soft-tissue mass that was contiguous with the left ovarian vein and connected to the proximal ureter, causing hydronephrosis.

Abdominoscrotal hydrocele (ASH) is an uncommon congenital anomaly in which a scrotal hydrocele extends to the abdomen through the inguinal canal in an hourglass fashion. Coexisting undescended testes (UDT) have mainly been reported in pediatric populations and are mostly located along the inguinal canal. We present a 66-year-old male with a history of neglected left cryptorchidism, who presented with a progressive ipsilateral inguino-scrotal swelling suggesting indirect inguinal hernia.

In the postantibiotic era, prostatic abscesses (PAs) are rare, affecting primarily immunocompromised men and/or caused by atypical drug-resistant pathogens, raising both diagnostic and management challenges. PA caused by methicillin-resistant (MRSA) is an uncommon condition and also a primary source of bacteremia. Nevertheless, the continued pattern of increase in reported cases, due especially to community-associated strains, is a growing concern regarding the significant morbidity and mortality.

Objective: We aimed to determine the prevalence of specific auto-antibodies to celiac disease (CD) in Moroccan type 1 diabetic (T1D) patients and compare the clinical and biological characteristics of seropositive and seronegative cases.
Patients And Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out on 276 T1D patients including 109 adults and 167 pediatric cases. The screening for CD was performed by an Elisa IgA anti-tissue transglutaminase antibody (tTGA) testing, combined with IgA quantification by nephelometry.

Atypical chronic myeloid leukemia (aCML), negative is a rare myelodysplastic syndrome/myeloproliferative neoplasm for which no current standard of care exists. The blood smear of patients with aCML showed prominent immature granulocytosis, and granulocytic dysplasia. We admitted a 58-year-old man with splenomegaly, hyperleukocytosis, anemia, and thrombocytopenia; then cytology, cytogenetic and molecular biology analysis of bone morrow were performed and the diagnosis of aCML was made according to 2016 World Health Organization diagnostic criteria.

Fibroepithelial polyps of the ureter are rare non-epithelial benign tumours with a slight female predominance. They are primarily located in the upper left ureter, incidentally diagnosed in patients who are evaluated for gross haematuria or renal colic. Fibroepithelial polyps are traditionally managed by open surgery with resection of the polyp and its stalk or partial resection of the ureter.

Crossed renal ectopia with fusion is an extremely rare congenital anomaly with few reported cases of pelviureteric junction obstruction, which often involves the crossed-over kidney. To our knowledge, we describe the second case in literature to report an uncrossed kidney with pelviureteric junction obstruction and giant hydronephrosis, which obstructs the pelviureteric junction of the crossed-over kidney. The grossly hydronephrotic kidney was found to be poorly functioning and an aberrant crossing vessel was considered to be potentially involved, raising both diagnostic and management challenges.

Background: Radiotherapy associated with chemotherapy is a well-established treatment modality for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancers. Radiation-induced second malignancies, particularly radiation-induced sarcomas, are rare. Some authors reported a recent increase in the incidence of this rare complication, especially because of the improved prognosis and survival of patients after radiotherapy.

Background: The retina is an uncommon site for metastases, in particular from solid tumors. Some authors have reported a recent increase in the incidence of metastases in infrequent sites, such as brain or bone, probably due to the expanded treatment options and the resulting improved survival. Choroidal metastasis is the most common type of intraocular malignancy.

Introduction: The pituitary gland is an uncommon site for metastases, in particular from rhabdomyosarcoma. Some authors have reported a recent increase in the incidence of metastases at infrequent sites, such as brain or bone, probably due to the expanded treatment options and the resulting improved survival. Treatment options are limited, but must be discussed and adapted to the patient profile.
