This study was conducted to evaluate prospectively the simple and more reliable methods in the treatment of multiple and comminuted mandibular fractures in hospitals with limited facilities and a high influx rate of trauma patients such as ours in Baghdad. One hundred patients with multiple and comminuted mandibular fractures of different severities were included in this study. Fifty-four patients were with comminuted and 46 were with multiple mandibular fractures.

Since March 1989, 23 patients have undergone continent urinary diversion with an ileocecal bladder and a reimplanted appendix conduit. In 21 patients this procedure was combined with a radical cystectomy. Of the patients 7 required an endoscopic procedure before satisfactory self-catheterization could be established.

Over 200 cases of colonic hemangioma have been reported, with more than 50% occurring in the rectosigmoid. These benign vascular neoplasms usually present in childhood, often with life-threatening hemorrhage. Lack of awareness of the condition continues to lead to errors in diagnosis and management, and may contribute to previously reported mortality rates of 50%.

Between July 1983 and March 1986, 160 potential living related renal donors underwent renal angiography. One hundred and twenty-eight have (Group 1) and 32 have not (Group 2) become renal donors. The addition of selective renal angiography did not alter the pre-operative arterial prediction made on flush aortography in 102 of 109 renal donors who had both investigations.

A 41 year old man presented with cyanosis and progressive shortness of breath. Cardiac angiography showed absent central pulmonary arteries, ventricular septal defect, and a fistula between the left coronary artery and pulmonary artery. Most of the blood reaching the lungs came through this fistula.

Sperm were found in urine voided after ejaculation. Artificial insemination with sperm recovered from alkalinized urine resulted in pregnancy.
