Musculoskeletal pain is a common symptom of Parkinson's disease (PD) that is not adequately treated with current dopaminergic drugs. This pilot study sought to investigate the effect of focal muscle vibration (fMV) on a group of Parkinson's disease patients suffering from chronic cervical pain. In addition to conventional physiotherapy, twenty-two patients with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (Hoehn and Yahr stages II-III) received three weeks of bilateral focal musclevibration to the trapezius muscles.

Internal Medicine and Alcohol Related Disease Unit, Columbus-Gemelli Hospital, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS, Rome, Italy; Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, Università Cattolica di Roma, Rome, Italy. Electronic address:

Emerging treatments for alcohol dependence reveal an intricate interplay of neurobiological, psychological, and circumstantial factors that contribute to Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). The approved strategies balancing these factors involve extensive manipulations of neurotransmitter systems such as GABA, Glutamate, Dopamine, Serotonin, and Acetylcholine. Innovative developments are engaging mechanisms such as GABA reuptake inhibition and allosteric modulation.

Background: According to scientific literature, burnout can be described as a multidimensional syndrome with three fundamental dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment. Every day, clown-doctors, play therapists, teachers and volunteers, such as ceramic art therapists, work in pediatric cancer wards to improve the quality of life of hospitalized children and activate positive resources during their therapeutic journey.

Methods: This study investigated burnout levels and the relationship between work-related stress and resilience in a total of 36 operators (clown-doctors, in-hospital teachers, play therapists, and ceramic art therapists), working at the Unit of Pediatric Oncology of IRCCS A.

Introduction: Over the last few decades, the use of neo/adjuvant therapies has significantly increased the number of breast cancer survivors who experience chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). To date, few, low-efficacy, pharmacological remedies exist to manage this side effect. For this reason, alternative treatments are increasingly being investigated as possible strategies to prevent or promote faster recovery from CIPN.

The effectiveness of clear aligners in correcting malocclusions is closely linked to the properties of the materials used to make them. The polymers used in the manufacture of clear aligners have well-established properties. However, the process of manufacturing clear aligners, known as thermoforming, involves thermal and mechanical shocks that may alter these properties.

  • Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is an autoimmune disease mainly affecting women aged 40-60, leading to bile duct destruction and associated with antimitochondrial antibodies (AMA) found in 95% of patients.

  • Global chronic kidney disease is on the rise, prompting a need for more living donors, including those with obesity, despite some health risks associated with obesity in donors.
  • Bariatric surgery can help mitigate these risks, with studies indicating that procedures like sleeve gastrectomy are effective and can make obese candidates suitable for kidney donation after appropriate weight loss.
  • The research emphasizes that while bariatric surgery can benefit obese donors, it should be seen as a way to improve individual health rather than simply expanding the donor pool.
