This study investigates a comprehensive enhancement strategy for photovoltaic (PV) panel efficiency, focusing on increasing electrical output through the integration of parabolic reflectors, advanced cooling mechanisms, and thermoelectric generation. Parabolic reflectors are implemented in the system to maximize solar irradiance on the PV panel's surface, while a specialized cooling system is introduced to regulate temperature distribution across the silicon layer. This cooling system consists of a finned duct filled with paraffin (RT35HC) and enhanced with SWCNT nanoparticles, which improve the thermal properties of the paraffin, facilitating more effective heat dissipation.

Introduction: In the present study, we evaluated the impact of empagliflozin on serum levels of oxidative stress parameters in individuals with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) who also suffer from heart failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction (HFrEF).

Methods: In this prospective, single-center clinical trial, 80 patients with T2DM and HFrEF, stabilized on guideline-directed heart failure therapy and classified as New York Heart Association functional (NYHA) functional classes II or III, were randomized to receive either empagliflozin (10 mg/daily) or a matching placebo for a duration of 12 weeks. Serum levels of malondialdehyde (MDA), along with the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx), were measured at baseline and after the 12-week treatment period.

Physicochemical and aromatic properties of iron-enriched tomato paste during storage.

Food Res Int

January 2025

Department of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences (DiSAFA), Università degli Studi di Torino, Largo Paolo Braccini 2, 10095 Grugliasco TO, Italy. Electronic address:

In this study, tomato paste was fortified with iron compounds at 25, 50, and 75 ppm concentrations. The effect of adding these micronutrient iron concentrations on the paste's physical, mechanical, aromatic, and chemical properties was evaluated every 15 days over a 60-day, storage period. The results indicated a gradual decrease in pH, total soluble solids (TSS), and taste index, alongside an increase in total acidity (TA) for all treatments throughout the storage period.

Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) is a common condition that manifests as ulcerative lesions in the oral mucosa. In this study, bilayer, mucoadhesive nanofibers loaded with pomegranate flower extract (PFE) were prepared using thiolated gelatin (TGel) and thiolated chitosan (TCS) as the active layer and drug-free polycaprolactone (PCL) as the backing layer. Gelatin (Gel) and chitosan (CS) were successfully thiolated (proven by Ellman's assay, solubility, H NMR, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, and XRD) and electrospun into active nanofibrous layers with a diameter of 356.

Amide modified cellulose-g-poly acrylic acid as a supple superabsorbent for water retention and soil conditioner.

Int J Biol Macromol

January 2025

Department of Chemistry, University of Isfahan, P.O. Box 81746-73441, Isfahan, Iran. Electronic address:

Acrylamide has high hydrophilic properties due to the presence of hydrophilic amide functional groups and is frequently used to synthesize superabsorbents. However, the toxic and carcinogenic properties of acrylamide have caused environmental concerns. The main goal of this paper is the synthesis of superabsorbent with high water absorption from biodegradable and biocompatible cellulose polymer containing amide groups in the backbone of it instead of grafting harmful acrylamide monomers to cellulose.

In the current study, a novel series of 1,2,4-oxadiazoles were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their biological activities. A cell-based antiproliferative screening was accomplished on the newly synthesized 1,2,4-oxadiazoles along with our previously reported aryl(alkyl)azoles (AAAs) containing middle heterocyclic cores thiazole and oxazole. Among the tested compounds, naphthyl- thiazoles demonstrated higher antiproliferative activity and B3 was identified as the most potent compound with IC values in the range of 2.

January 2025

Department of Agronomy and Plant Breeding Sciences, Agricultural College of Aburaihan, University of Tehran, Pakdasht, Iran.

Background: Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV), tomato mosaic virus (ToMV), and Fusarium wilt are three of tomatoes' most important viral and fungal diseases.

Methods And Results: In this study, the application of molecular markers associated with tomato yellow leaf curl virus resistance gene (Ty1), tomato mosaic virus resistance gene (Tm2), and Fusarium wilt resistance gene (I-1) (linked marker) were evaluated. In order to optimize and use SNP markers (by HRM diagnostic method) and SCAR markers, segregating populations of tomatoes were produced by self-pollination of commercial hybrid cultivars.
