Within the aging cortex, amyloid beta peptide (Aβ) is a crucial element of the senile plaques, a hallmark feature often observed in cases of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The UPR (unfolded protein response), a cellular mechanism for protein folding, is switched on by Aβ accumulation. Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress has been identified as playing a role in aging and the development of neurodegenerative diseases.

  • Metabolic syndrome (MetS) encompasses a group of risk factors including dysglycemia, hyperinsulinemia, and hypertension, with diet playing a crucial role in its prevention and management.
  • In a study involving 338 obese participants, dietary intake was assessed to calculate the nutrient adequacy ratio (NAR) for vitamins and minerals, while various metabolic factors were measured using biochemical tests.
  • Results indicated that higher NAR correlates with increased fat-free mass and greater overall nutrient intake, but there was no significant relationship between NAR and metabolic profiles or glycemic status.

Background: Structural heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in people with type 2 diabetes (T2D), which is not known to have an effect on exercise training. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) on heart tissue structure, the serum level of FGF21 and the heart tissue level of β-Klotho, an FGF21 coreceptor, in HFD and HFD + STZ-induced diabetic mice.

Methods: Thirty-six male C57BL/6J mice were divided into high-fat diet (HFD) and normal chow diet (ND) groups.

Objective: Breast cancer is a widely prevalent and life-threatening malignancy that affects women worldwide. The identification of novel molecular markers associated with tumor progression is highly important for enhancing early detection, tailoring treatment approaches, and monitoring therapeutic outcomes. In this study, we investigated the expression patterns of four long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs): USP30 antisense RNA1 (USP30-AS1), ELFN1 antisense RNA1 (ELFN1-AS1), GAS8 antisense RNA1 (GAS8-AS1), and small nucleolar RNA host gene 11 (SNHG11).
