Objectives: The objective of this study was to investigate whether oscillometric AS measurements are different in pregnant women with and without preeclampsia (PE).

Study Design: This was a prospective case-control study in singleton pregnancies that had been diagnosed with PE ( = 46) versus normotensive controls ( = 46) between 2014 and 2019. In the case group, pregnancies complicated by PE were classified as either early-onset (<34 weeks of gestation) or late-onset (≥34 weeks of gestation) PE and subgroup analysis was performed.

Treatment of chronic venous disorder: A comprehensive review.

Chronic venous disorder (CVD) is highly prevalent vascular disorder affecting up to 45% of the general population, with clinical manifestations ranging from teleangiectasias to venous leg ulcers (VLUs). We examined the currently available data in order to provide an updated, comprehensive review on treatment options of CVD. We searched MEDLINE, Cochrane, Scopus, EMBASE, ClinicalTrials, and OpenGrey databases for relevant articles in English published until November 2020.

The effects of golimumab on work productivity and quality of life among work-active axial spondyloarthritis and psoriatic arthritis patients treated in the routine care in Greece: the 'GO-UP' study.

Purpose: To examine the impact of golimumab, on work productivity, activity limitation, and quality of life (QoL) in patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA).

Methods: This real-world, multicenter, prospective study consecutively enrolled adult consented work-active patients with axSpA or PsA, newly initiated on golimumab as per the approved label. Prior receipt of > 1 prior biologic, or switching from another tumor-necrosis factor inhibitor due to primary non-response or safety reasons was not allowed.

Several studies have linked treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with negative psychological outcomes. This study explores the prevalence of negative psychological outcomes in Greek patients (=29), a year after treatment in ICU. Percentages of participants with anxiety [41%, 95% CI (22%, 60%)] and Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) [34%, 95% CI (16%, 53%)] symptoms were similar to the related literature.

Cutaneous manifestations of mantle cell lymphoma: an extensive literature review.

Mantle cell lymphomas account for about 2 to 10% of non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphomas. Background: It is recommended that children with hypertension and loud snoring should be referred for polysomnography. We aimed to compare the frequency of moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) among snorers with and without hypertension. Thus, it was hypothesized that systolic or diastolic hypertension among children with snoring is a risk factor for moderate-to-severe OSAS.

Does minimal invasive cardiac surgery reduce the incidence of post-operative atrial fibrillation?

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common post-operative complication and tends to be the most common arrhythmia after cardiac surgery. The etiology and risk factors for post-operative AF are poorly understood, but older age, large left atrium, diffuse coronary artery disease, a history of AF paroxysms and in general, pre-existing cardiac conditions that cause restricting and susceptibility towards inflammation have been consistently linked with post-operative atrial fibrillation (POAF). It has been traditionally thought that post-operative AF is transient, well-tolerated, benign to the patient and self-limiting complication of cardiac surgery that was temporary and easily treated.

Aortic rupture during endovascular repair of a postoperative coarctation pseudoaneurysm in an adult: Emergency lifesaving stent graft implantation.

We present a case with aortic rupture during an operation of thoracic endovascular aortic repair of an anastomotic pseudoaneurysm. This happened after the use of a low-pressure remodeling balloon inside the covered part of the deployed endografts. It was successfully treated with a second more centrally in the aortic arch-implanted endograft with full coverage of the left subclavian artery orifice.

New-Onset Diabetes After Transplantation: Comparison Between a Cyclosporine-Based and a Tacrolimus-Based Immunosuppressive Regimen.

Introduction: New-onset diabetes after transplantation (NODAT) is a complication of renal transplantation (RT) with an adverse effect on graft survival.

Objectives: The purpose of the present study was to compare modifiable or non-modifiable clinical and laboratory parameters as well as the course of patients and transplants between 2 groups of RT recipients with NODAT in relation to the use of either a cyclosporine-based (group A) or a tacrolimus-based immunosuppressive regimen (group B).

Materials And Methods: Retrospectively comparing 66 renal transplant recipients with NODAT, multiple clinical, and laboratory parameters were investigated.

Pain Perception during Levonorgestrel-releasing Intrauterine Device Insertion in Nulliparous Women: A Systematic Review.

Study Objective: Intrauterine devices (IUDs) still remain underused in adolescents. Pain during insertion might prevent adolescents to opt for a levonorgestrel-releasing IUD. This study aimed to conduct a systematic review, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, and critically appraise published data with respect to the efficacy of various substances (analgesics or not) in preventing pain during levonorgestrel-releasing IUD insertion in nulliparous women as a proxy for adolescents.

Serum relaxin and cervical length for prediction of spontaneous preterm birth in second-trimester symptomatic women.

Objective: To investigate whether serum relaxin level is associated with preterm birth in symptomatic women, either as a standalone test or in the context of a combined model of serum relaxin and cervical length (CL).

Methods: This was a case-control study of women with a singleton pregnancy who presented between 24 + 0 and 26 + 6 weeks' gestation with threatened preterm labor and intact membranes. CL, full blood count, C-reactive protein level and maternal demographics were recorded at presentation, and blood samples were taken for relaxin measurement.

Successful Outcome of Severe Intra-cerebral Bleeding Associated with Acquired Factor V Inhibition: Utilization of Multiple Therapeutic Agents.

Background: Acquired coagulation factor inhibitors are antibodies that either inhibit activity or increase the clearance of a clotting factor and lead to an increased risk of bleeding. Most of the time, the disorder is attributed to factor VIII inhibition (acquired haemophilia A); however, other coagulation factors could also be implicated.
