A new ranking index to identify the work-related psychosocial factors most impacting mental health: a cross-sectional study.

Objectives: In modern professional life, mental health prevention and promotion have become a major challenge for decision-makers. Devising appropriate actions requires better understanding the role played by each work-related psychosocial factor (WPSF). The objective of this study was to present a relevant tool to hierarchise WPSFs that jointly takes into account their (impact on mental health) and their (the proportion of the population exposed to WPSF).

Molecular Characterization of Adult Tumors Diagnosed as Cerebellar Glioblastomas Identifies Subgroups Associated With Prognosis.

Adult tumors diagnosed as cerebellar glioblastoma (cGBM) are rare and their optimal classification remains to be determined. The aim of this study was to identify subgroups of cGBM based on targeted molecular analysis. cGBM diagnosed between 2003 and 2017 were identified from the French Brain Tumor Database and reviewed according to the WHO 2021 classification.

Characteristics and management of hydrocephalus in adult patients with cerebellar glioblastoma: lessons from a French nationwide series of 118 cases.

The characteristics of hydrocephalus associated with cerebellar glioblastoma (cGB) remain poorly known. The objectives were to describe the occurence of hydrocephalus in a French nationwide series of adult patients with cGB, to identify the characteristics associated with hydrocephalus and to analyze the outcomes associated with the different surgical strategies, in order to propose practical guidelines. Consecutive cases of adult cGB patients prospectively recorded into the French Brain Tumor Database between 2003 and 2017 were screened.

Clinical features and outcomes of COVID-19 patients hospitalized for psychiatric disorders: a French multi-centered prospective observational study.

Background: Patients with psychiatric disorders are exposed to high risk of COVID-19 and increased mortality. In this study, we set out to assess the clinical features and outcomes of patients with current psychiatric disorders exposed to COVID-19.

Methods: This multi-center prospective study was conducted in 22 psychiatric wards dedicated to COVID-19 inpatients between 28 February and 30 May 2020.

Methods: The French brain tumor database and the Club de Neuro-Oncologie of the Société Française de Neurochirurgie retrospectively identified adult patients with cerebellar glioblastoma diagnosed between 2003 and 2017. Diagnosis was confirmed by a centralized neuropathological review.

Background: Meningioangiomatosis is a poorly studied, rare, benign, and epileptogenic brain lesion.

Objective: To demonstrate that surgical resection and a short-time interval to surgery improves epileptic seizure control, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of meningioangiomatosis cases.

Methods: Using PRISMA-IPD guidelines, the authors performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of histopathologically-proven meningioangiomatosis cases.

High diagnostic value of plasma Niemann-Pick type C biomarkers in adults with selected neurological and/or psychiatric disorders.

Late-onset Niemann-Pick type C (NP-C) is a rare, underdiagnosed lysosomal disease with neurological manifestations. A specific treatment, miglustat, can stabilize the disease if given early. Recently, three plasma screening biomarkers (PSBs) were developed [cholestane3β,5α,6βtriol (C-triol), 7-ketocholesterol (7-KC), and lysosphingomyelin-509 (LSM-509)], allowing a simpler and quite robust screening of patients suitable for genetic testing.

Neural noise and cortical inhibition in schizophrenia.

Background: Neural information processing is subject to noise and this leads to variability in neural firing and behavior. Schizophrenia has been associated with both more variable motor control and impaired cortical inhibition, which is crucial for excitatory/inhibitory balance in neural commands.

Hypothesis: In this study, we hypothesized that impaired intracortical inhibition in motor cortex would contribute to task-related motor noise in schizophrenia.

A long-term evaluation of a training program on breaking bad news in pediatric neurosurgery: a pilot study.

Objective: Breaking bad news is a difficult task in medical practice. Several breaking-bad-news training programs have been proposed. However, long-term results of such training have rarely been investigated.

Temozolomide radiochemotherapy for high-grade glioma patients with hemodialysis: a case series of 7 patients.

Background: The pharmacokinetics of temozolomide (TMZ) in patients with severe renal impairments (creatinine clearance, <36 mL/min/m) or in hemodialysis (HD) patients has not been investigated. TMZ and its metabolic products are mainly excreted in urine, as retention of these in the body may result in increased adverse events in HD patients.

Methods: Seven HD patients with high-grade gliomas from 6 institutions were included in the study.

Autophagy facilitates the adaptation to nutritional stress. Here, we show that short-term starvation of cultured cells or mice caused the autophagy-dependent cellular release of acyl-CoA-binding protein (ACBP, also known as diazepam-binding inhibitor, DBI) and consequent ACBP-mediated feedback inhibition of autophagy. Importantly, ACBP levels were elevated in obese patients and reduced in anorexia nervosa.

Background: Diffuse low-grade gliomas (DLGGs) are rare and incurable tumors. Whereas maximal safe, functional-based surgical resection is the first-line treatment, the timing and choice of further treatments (chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or combined treatments) remain controversial.

Methods: An online survey on the management of DLGG patients was sent to 28 expert centers from the European Low-Grade Glioma Network (ELGGN) in May 2015.

Early detection and early intervention programs in early adolescent and young adult psychosis have developed in many countries and have shown their effectiveness. The main lesson of these programs is to have demonstrated that the progression of at-risk mental state into to a full-blown psychosis or of a psychotic episode to a chronic schizophrenic disorder is evitable. They have also shown that the earlier appropriate care is set up the better the functional remission and that the period of "early psychosis" encompassing the period preceding the emergence of psychosis and the first months after the first psychotic episode, is a period of opportunity for a preventive or curative intervention.
