Objective: This study evaluates the outcomes of modified transvaginal mesh (TVM) Surelift in managing advanced pelvic organ prolapse (POP) over a 3-year follow-up period, focusing on surgical success, functional improvement, and sonographic findings.
Methods: A retrospective review was conducted on 99 women who underwent Surelift System surgery for advanced POP Stage III and IV between July 2018 to January 2020. Objective evaluation included Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification (POP-Q), multichannel urodynamic (UDS), and introital 2D ultrasonographic measurement.

Introduction And Hypothesis: To assess the outcomes of mid-urethral sling (MUS) procedures for urodynamic stress incontinence (USI) following extensive pelvic reconstructive surgery (PRS) and identify risk factors for persistent USI (P-USI).
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 84 women who underwent a staged approach to MUS for USI after PRS for advanced pelvic organ prolapse (Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification III and IV). The primary outcome was objective cure rate, defined by negative urine leakage on urodynamic study and a 1-h pad test weight of < 2 g.

Objective: Low Maximal Urethral Closure Pressure (MUCP) is linked to unfavourable outcome of anti-incontinence surgery, however the cut-off value varied within studies. This study aimed to predict the cut-off value of MUCP that contributes to poor outcome of Mid-Urethral Sling (MUS) surgery in Urinary Stress Incontinence (USI) patients.
Materials And Methods: Records of 729 women underwent MUS procedure from January 2004 to April 2017 reviewed.

Background: Autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) is a pivotal treatment for lymphoma patients. The BeEAM regimen (Bendamustine, Etoposide, Cytarabine, Melphalan) traditionally relies on cryopreservation, whereas the CEM regimen (Carboplatin, Etoposide, Melphalan) has been optimized for short-duration administration without the need for cryopreservation. This study rigorously compares the clinical and safety profiles of the BeEAM and CEM regimens.

Objective: To evaluate the impact of extensive vaginal pelvic reconstruction surgery (PRS) on advanced pelvic organ prolapse (POP) patients with bladder outlet obstruction (BOO).
Methods: We conducted a single-center, retrospective analysis of women who received extensive vaginal pelvic reconstruction surgery for advanced POP (POP-Q ≥3) with BOO from January 2006 to January 2016. Data regarding preoperative evaluation, surgical procedure, and postoperative management were abstracted from medical records.

Objective: Dynamic thiol-disulphide homeostasis is an indicator of the antioxidant system that interacts early with the oxidative environment. This study aimed to assess the dynamic thiol/disulphide balance in individuals with white-coat hypertension (WCH).
Methods: This cross-sectional study included a total of 117 individuals who presented to our outpatient cardiology clinic.

Emphysematous Pyelonephritis is a rare necrotizing infection with gas production and a high overall mortality rate. An elderly diabetic male patient presented to our Emergency Department with septic shock and was found to have left perinephric emphysematous pyelonephritis with a large collection. He was managed with the proper antibiotic therapy, and two trials of percutaneous drainage of the collection with no significant reduction in the size of the abscess.

Patients with COVID-19 infection may present to the Emergency Department (ED) with gastrointestinal complaints and no respiratory symptoms. We are presenting 3 patients who came to the ED with abdominal pain; and the computed tomography [CT] of the abdomen showed findings suggestive of COVID-19 pneumonia. A 65-year-old male patient presented with symptoms of urinary tract infection and left renal angle tenderness.

Background: It has been shown that functional status of dendritic cells (DCs) in diabetic patients with unstable angina pectoris (UAP) are more mature and activated than diabetic patients without coronary artery disease (CAD) and none diabetic patients with UAP. Accordingly we aimed to assess the activation of DCs in patients with CAD with/and without Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and compare to those in subjects with normal coronary arteries (NCA).
Materials And Methods: Twenty three patients with severe CAD who were scheduled to coronary artery by-pass grafting surgery and 6 patients with angiographycally NCAs were included in the study.

Extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing Enterobacteriaceae urinary tract infections are challenging infections with increased mortality, morbidity, and failure of therapy. A 44-year-old Saudi male diabetic patient was seen at the ER of IMC Hospital with features of acute pyelonephritis: fever, burning urine, and left flank pain for three days. He was treated for cystitis at the Endocrine Clinic two weeks prior to his ER visit with nitrofurantoin and levofloxacin orally according to urine culture and sensitivity result.

Background: The development of laparoscopic cholecystectomy as a minimally invasive approach to eliminate gallstones, in conjunction with increasingly sophisticated techniques for removal of common bile duct (CBD) stones by endoscopic sphincterotomy, has revolutionized the treatment of choledocholithiasis. We describe a new technical approach to laparoscopic exploration of the CBD after unsuccessful endoscopic stone extraction.
Methods: Eleven patients were subjected to laparoscopic exploration of the CBD with choledochotomy using a rigid scope (24-Fr nephroscope) during the last 2 years.

Migration of intraabdominal catheters into the bowel is a well-known phenomenon of uncertain cause. Intragastric migration of adjustable gastric banding is not an uncommon complication, with a reported prevalence of 1-11% in most series. Migration of the connecting tube into the small bowel lumen or colonic lumen is very rare.

Auditory cortices are interconnected to each other by fibers passing through the corpus callosum (CC). In totally deaf persons no auditory impulses are conveyed to the auditory cortices, hence the auditory pathways become nonfunctional. It was reported that there has been cross-modal plasticity between auditory, visual, and somatosensory cortices.

Ventricular wall rupture after mitral valve replacement is an infrequent but dreaded complication. We have experienced this problem in two separate instances of type III left ventricular rupture and report the successful repair by a novel technique with the use of a new sealant, the AdvaSeal (FocalSeal), in a sandwitch repair procedure.

Mitral valve repair in patients with mitral valve billowing and prolapse (Barlow) can be a demanding surgical procedure. A mitral valve repair method, which incorporates the complete resection of the middle scallop of the posterior leaflet, a sliding and folding plasty with the remaining lateral scallops combined with a triangular resection of the anterior leaflet and a ring-annuloplasty was developed, which maximizes predictable anatomic and physiologic efficacy of this repair and minimizes unpredictable results. A total of 37 consecutive patients underwent mitral repair with this method from 1996 to 1998, with consistently excellent results.
