Ni(II) complexes with an integer spin = 1 that behave as clock transition spin qubits at zero magnetic field are resilient to magnetic fluctuations of the spin bath, while Co(II) complexes with a half-integer spin ( = 3/2) lose their coherence when they are subject to the same fluctuating magnetic field as the Ni(II) ones. These findings demonstrate that adequately designed Ni(II) complexes are excellent candidates for spin qubits.

Impact of the Angular Alignment on the Crystal Field and Intrinsic Doping of Bilayer Graphene/BN Heterostructures.

The ability to tune the energy gap in bilayer graphene makes it the perfect playground for the study of the effects of internal electric fields, such as the crystalline field, which are developed when other layered materials are deposited on top of it. Here, we introduce a novel device architecture allowing simultaneous control over the applied displacement field and the crystalline alignment between two materials. Our experimental and numerical results confirm that the crystal field and electrostatic doping due to the interface reflect the 120° symmetry of the bilayer graphene/BN heterostructure and are highly affected by the commensurate state.

By providing guarantees and direct lending, public export credit agencies (ECAs) de-risk and thus enable energy projects worldwide. Background And Objectives: Primary care is often the first point of contact for patients with cognitive complaints, making initial cognitive screening an essential step to avoid delays in diagnosing Alzheimer's disease (AD) at an early stage. We developed MemScreen, a self-administered smartphone application that assesses overall cognition and verbal memory, and evaluated its ability to detect mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in both general and clinical populations.

Methods: We conducted two validation cohort studies: (1) UK-based Whitehall II cohort study (13th wave, 2018-2022) involving a general population (MCI defined by poor performance on a global cognitive score), and (2) five French memory clinics involving patients without dementia (amnestic MCI defined by the Free and Cued Selective Reminding Test).

Introduction: Surgical site infections (SSIs) are the second leading cause of healthcare-associated infections in Europe with the highest rates being reported in colorectal surgery (ranging from 9% to 30%). Surgical antibiotic prophylaxis (SAP) is one of the most efficient measures for SSI prevention and should be started before surgical incision. Cefoxitin is an antibiotic widely used as SAP for colorectal surgery, but its continuous administration is currently the subject of debate due to its potential pharmacokinetic advantages.

Aim: Co-existing primary aldosteronism (PA) and autonomous cortisol secretion (ACS) has been recently recognized as a distinct entity. This study aimed to assess the incidence of ACS in patients with PA, and its impact on clinical and laboratory parameters.

To investigate heterogeneity of fibroblasts in human fetal skin, we analysed published single-cell RNA sequencing data (8 and 16 post conception weeks (PCW)) and performed single-molecule fluorescence in situ hybridisation to map their spatial distribution and predicted dynamic interactions. Clustering revealed 8 fibroblast populations with developmental stage-specific abundance changes. Proliferative cells (MKI67+) were present at all stages.

Background: The prevalence of positive cultures in primarily operated shoulders represents a growing concern. Previous studies have documented high rates of culture positivity in primary prosthetic shoulder surgery, yet the Latarjet procedure has not been specifically explored in this context. The aim of this study was to identify the rate of culture positivity in patients treated with a primary Latarjet procedure, and to identify risk factors for culture positivity.

On-site recurrence risk after parenchymal R1 liver resection for colorectal metastases.

Background: Histologic microscopic positive resection margin is a debated prognostic factor in patients resected for colorectal liver metastases. This study aimed to assess whether patients with R1 resection experience recurrence at the site of the resection (on-site recurrence) and to identify predictive factors for recurrence profiles in patients with R1 margins after resection of colorectal liver metastases.

Background: For decades, poor treatment options and low-quality evidence plagued care for patients with rifampin-resistant tuberculosis. The advent of new drugs to treat tuberculosis and enhanced funding now permit randomized, controlled trials of shortened-duration, all-oral treatments for rifampin-resistant tuberculosis.

Methods: We conducted a phase 3, multinational, open-label, randomized, controlled noninferiority trial to compare standard therapy for treatment of fluoroquinolone-susceptible, rifampin-resistant tuberculosis with five 9-month oral regimens that included various combinations of bedaquiline (B), delamanid (D), linezolid (L), levofloxacin (Lfx) or moxifloxacin (M), clofazimine (C), and pyrazinamide (Z).
