The results of the study of oral fluid in older persons with somatic pathology, which was followed for 1 month, are presented. The acid-base state of the oral fluid was evaluated, and the viscosity of the oral fluid was determined. According to the results of the study of oral fluid and its correction by means of hygiene in older persons with somatic diseases, the dynamics of the indicators of the acid-base state of the oral fluid, its shift to the alkaline side and the positive dynamics of the effect of the viscosity of the oral fluid were noted.

According to specialized literature and the results of our own experiments to carry out a comprehensive study to find criteria for determining the time of death in the late postmortem period. It turned out that a combined assessment of microbiological, entomological and biophysical data obtained in the study of a corpse is advisable for medical diagnostics of the duration of the postmortem interval, which does not exclude the need to compare them with the results obtained by traditional morphological methods. From an applied point of view, it is very important to «standardize» the conditions of such studies.

In the forensic practice of examining bone remains there are cases of anomalies' detection of the skeleton development which have a high identification value for the search for a missing person. The most valuable ones are the features of the facial skull anatomical structure since they are usually well visible and recorded in photographic and medical documents. In the presented case an anomaly in the hard palate development was revealed on the skull of an unknown person found in the Leningrad region - a cleft caused by its underdevelopment.

The importance of viral infections as a leading cause of morbidity and mortality is well documented in severely immunosuppressed patients undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplantation. By contrast, viral infections generally receive less attention in patients with malignant disorders undergoing chemotherapy, where the onset of neutropenic fever is mostly associated with bacterial or fungal infections, and screening for viral infections is not routinely performed. To address the occurrence of invasive viral infections in a clinical setting commonly associated with less pronounced immunosuppression, we have prospectively screened 237 febrile neutropenic episodes in pediatric (n = 77) and adult (n = 69) patients undergoing intensive chemotherapy, primarily for treatment of acute leukemia.

The aim of this work is to monitor the state of the proteolytic community in time and space for the subsequent development of approaches to an objective assessment of the late postmortem period. The study proposes a combination of standard bacterioscopic and bacteriological research methods with methods of molecular biology and genetics, which make it possible to identify species and strains of mammalian corpses' proteolytics at the level of specific DNA or RNA. On the basis of phenotypic traits and a comparative analysis of the nucleotide sequences of genes encoding 16S rRNA, the species belonging of the isolated strains was proved.

Radiation-protective and anti-aging properties are often combined. Combination of this properties is linked to the common mechanisms of action such as direct and indirect antioxidant activities, inhibition of free radicals formation, increase resistance to stress impacts at the cellular level, acceleration of DNA reparation, prevention of chronic diseases linked to abnormalities in regeneration processes, activation of immune inflammatory processes and carcinogenesis. Regulation of cell cycle and apoptosis can often be considered as an implementing driver of radiation-protective and anti-aging activities.
