During the parasitological examination of 288 wild ducks from north-western Poland, 18 tapeworms were found in the intestines (jejunum, ileum and rectum) of six birds, which, based on the structure of the scolex, internal organs and the presence of cirrus with an internal additional sac, were determinated as Dicranotaenia stenosacculata Macko, 1988. Tapeworms were found in two young females Bucephala clangula, one young female Aythya marila as well as two adult males Aythya fuligula. The aim of the study was to present the morphological and ecological characteristics of the species, recently discovered for the first time in the fauna of Poland.

Overall results of several spider mite surveys performed in the Black Sea Biosphere Reserve (Ukraine) during the 1990s to 2015 are presented. A total of 20 species were found, belonging to 11 genera, from 58 different host plant species, of which one mite genus, Mesobryobia (Wainstein, 1956), and three species, M. terpoghossiani (Bagdasarian, 1959), Georgiobia richteri (Bagdasarian, 1954) and Tetranychus lonicerae Beglyarov Mitrofanov, 1973, are new mite records to the Ukrainian acarofauna.

The article reports on the first detailed vertebral and rib morphology of anguine taxon Pseudopus apodus using micro-computed tomography. A comparison shows significant morphological differences of vertebrae of Pseudopus relative to those of Anguis and Ophisaurus. Usually, there are 55 presacral vertebrae, two sacral, and 95-97 caudal vertebrae.
