THE INDICES OF ENDOGENOUS INTOXICATION IN RATS WITH CARRAGEENAN SOLUTION CONSUMPTION.

With changing lifestyle and dietary transition, there is an increase in intake of processed and packaged foods which tend to have a number of food additives. This has increased our consumption of these chemical substances. One of such additives is carrageenan (CGN) - E407.

Oxidative modification of proteins in the process of experimental periodontitis development.

The article reveals patterns of changes in the parameters of oxidative modification of proteins for different periods of the inflammatory process in periodontal tissues during periodontitis. Biochemical researches of phenylhydrazones, aldehyde-, and ketone derivatives of neutral and basic proteins were determined in the blood of white rats on the 7th, 14th, and 30th days of the experimental periodontitis development, as well as in intact animals. The method for determination of the oxidative modification of proteins was based on the interaction of oxidized amino acid residues with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine to form 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazones.

[Analysis of final judgements in cases of medical negligence occurred in Ukraine].

Objective: Introduction: The peculiarities of the disadvantages of providing medical care in Ukraine are not well-known abroad. The aim: To study the peculiarities of court decisions in cases of unfavorable consequences of medical activity.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: The article analyzes the official data of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine and the website of court decisions regarding criminal cases against medical practitioners.

γ-Pyrone compounds: flavonoids and maltol glucoside derivatives from Herniaria glabra L. collected in the Ternopil region of the Ukraine.

The phytochemical investigation of the whole plant extracts of Herniaria glabra L. (Caryophyllaceae) led to the identification and isolation of four known flavonoids, one known and three undescribed maltol derivatives, and benzyl β-gentiobioside. The structures were established by extensive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic analyses, as well as HRESIMS data.

[ABNORMALITIES OF THYROID HORMONE METABOLISM DURING COMMUNITY‒ACQUIRED PNEUMONIA: NONTHYROIDAL ILLNESS SYNDROME AND INTRACELLULAR IODINE DISTRIBUTION IN CHILDREN].

The aim of the study ‒ to investigate the changes of thyroid function and to reveal the relationship in between intracellular distribution of iodine in the blood with the severity of the course of pneumonia in children. We investigated 70 patients in age 6-14 years with moderate and severe CAP and 35 healthy children. The levels of free thyroxine (fT4), free triiodo-thyronine (fT3) and thyroid stimulating hormone, thyroid gland ultrasound and urinary iodine were estimated.

EFFECT OF TOBACCO SMOKE ON ROS PRODUCTION AND INFLAMMATION IN RATS OF DIFFERENT AGE.

The aim of our study was to investigate the effect of tobacco smoke on the content of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and level of cytokines in blood of rats of different age groups. For the purpose of carrying out the dosage, the beards of the white mongrel male rats were sub-divided into three groups: immature, mature and senile rats. Rat experimental groups were exposed to tobacco smoke daily for 45 days.

EVALUATION OF EFFICIENCY OF IMIGLUCERASE (CEREZYME) IN THE TREATMENT OF GAUCHER DISEASE (CASE REPORTS AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE).

The data on occurrence and pathogenetic mechanisms of glucosylceramide lipidosis (Gaucher disease), which is based on the hereditary deficiency of glucocerebrosidase activity -the enzyme involved in the processing of cellular metabolism products, is presented. Clinical and morphological manifestations of the disease, therapeutic tactics and prognosis are defined. A typical clinical case of Gaucher disease type 1 in two adult patients was analyzed.

REYE (RAY'S) SYNDROME: A PROBLEM EVERYONE SHOULD REMEMBER.

Reye syndrome is a rare but a very dangerous emergency that children and teenagers suffer. This threatening condition occurs during the treatment of fever in the clinical course of viral diseases with drugs containing acetylsalicylic acid and other salicylates. The high mortality rate from this disease is associated with the development of a rapidly progressing toxic encephalopathy and hepatic insufficiency.

[PERSPECTIVE MANAGEMENT IN THE TREATMENT OF GENITAL ENDOMETRIOSIS IN WOMEN WITH POLYMORPHISM OF GENS GSTT1 AND GSTM1].

The article covers the management of patients with internal genital endometriosis, in which the polymorphism of the glutathione-S-transferase genes has been diagnosed. The aim of our study was to select the optimal conservative method for treatment of internal genital endometriosis in women of reproductive age by developing complex therapy taking into account the polymorphism of the genes of the detoxification system. 102 patients with combined gynecological pathology were examined.

Sex differences of odontometrical indexes crowns of molars.

Modern reconstructive methods of dentistry (stopping, restoration, and prosthetics with different types of orthopedic constructions) require detailed examination of the anatomical structure of the teeth crowns, especially examination of the knowledge about the relief of masticatory surface. That is why, we conducted a detailed examination of the features of odontoglyphics of molars, according to the sex and determination the odontometrical teeth indices of the citizens of Ternopil region. To achieve the goals, we use the following research methods, such as odontological, odontometrical, and statistical.

SULPHUR-CONTAINING AMINO ACIDS METABOLISM IN EXPERIMENTAL HYPER- AND HYPOTHYROIDISM IN RATS.

Hyper- and hypothyroidism are some of the most common endocrinopathies that cause many metabolic disorders including amino acids metabolism. However, a specific molecular mechanism of thyroid hormones influence on sulphur-containing amino acids metabolism has not been established. The aim of our research was to investigate experimentally the influence of thyroid gland functional state on the main enzymatic systems of sulphur-containing amino acids metabolism in liver and kidneys, the content of homocysteine, cysteine and H2S in blood.

THE MECHANISMS OF APOPTOSIS INITIATION IN RATS WITH CHRONIC ENTEROCOLITIS COMBINED WITH STREPTOZOTOCIN-INDUCED DIABETES.

Diabetes mellitus is a multifactorial metabolic disease, characterized by hyperglycemia due to insulin deficiency or insulin resistance. A large number of experimental studies emphasizes the key role of apoptosis in the pathogenesis of diabetes. A deeper understanding of the apoptosis mechanisms, identifying of the predictors that positively or negatively influence on the cell death initiation, the correlation between some indices will improve therapeutic strategies for patients with diabetes and comorbidities, which makes the actuality of this study.

Differential diagnosis of hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS): Portopulmonary hypertension (PPH) and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT).

Hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) is a severe complication of advanced liver disease associated with an extremely poor prognosis. HPS is diagnosed in 4-47% of patients with cirrhosis and in 15-20% of candidates for liver transplantation. In addition, severe hypoxia is associated with a high risk of complications of liver transplantation (a 30% chance during the first 90 days) and increases the gap between transplantation and improving arterial oxygenation.

INVESTIGATION OF BONE MINERALIZATION IN PATIENTS WITH CORONARY HEART DISEASE COMPLICATED BY CHRONIC HEART FAILURE, STAGE II-A.

The majority of the studies have shown that individuals with cardiovascular diseases have a higher risk of experiencing bone loss and thus greater predisposition to risk of fracture. On the other hand there is growing evidence that individuals with low bone mass have higher mortality for cardiovascular events compared to patients with cardiovascular disease with normal bone mass. This research aims to investigate bone mineralization in patients with coronary heart disease complicated by stage II-A chronic heart failure.

Acute rheumatic fever: clinical profile in children in western Ukraine.

Unlabelled: Acute rheumatic fever (ARF) may have different clinical manifestations in different countries according to the genetic predisposition, prevalence of rheumatogenic strains, social and economic conditions. The purpose of this study was to determine the clinical characteristics of ARF in Western Ukraine and to improve the detection of the cases. A retrospective analysis of 85 medical clinical cases of in-hospital patients aged from 4 to 17 years old was performed.

IMMUNOLOGICAL DISTRESS IN EXPERIMENTAL CRANIAL TRAUMA COMBINED WITH INSULIN DEPENDENT DIABETES (EXPERIMENTAL STUDY).

This article describes the immunological events and investigates important mediators of the inflammatory immune response after experimental cranial trauma combined with type I diabetes. It was shown that the rats with induced diabetes and traumatic brain injury suffered more profound damage to the immune system that was not restored back to the basal level within 14 days. Proinflammatory cytokine concentrations increased, while anti-inflammatory cytokine concentrations decreased by day 14, increasing risk for systemic inflammatory response syndrome and multi-organ failure.

Characteristics of cellular composition of periodontal pockets.

Purpose: The development of inflammatory periodontal disease in young people is an urgent problem of today's periodontology, and requires a development of new methods that would give an opportunity not only to diagnose but also for prognosis of periodontitis course in a given patients contingent.

Results: Cellular structure of periodontal pockets is presented by hematogenous and epithelial cells. Our results are confirmed by previous studies, and show that the penetration of periodontal pathogens leads to formation in periodontal tissue of a highly active complex compounds-cytokines that are able to modify the activity of neutrophils and reduce their specific antibacterial properties.

[ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids use for optimization of children inflammatory joints diseases treatment].

The use of additional treatment methods in inflammatory joints disease therapy is very important. But the main principles of diet therapy for patients with rheumatoid joint inflammation and reactive arthritis and possibility of focused impact on disease activity by means of alimentary factors have not still been formed out. The aim of the investigation was to study the effect of diet therapy including ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) on joint syndrome evidence and on bone turnover markers of children with inflammatory joint diseases.

Epidemiological aspects of obesity and systemic hypertension amongschool children of Western Ukraine.

Introduction: Systemic hypertension (SH) is a major long-term health condition and is the leading cause of premature death among adults throughout the world, including developed, developing, and lesser developed countries.In recent years there has been a progressive increase in SH among children and adolescents. Epidemiological studies demonstrated an overall increase in the prevalence of hypertension.

Also, anticancer therapy may cause myelosuppression. Presently granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) is used for prevention and treatment of myelosuppression.

THE DETERMINATION OF CORRELATION LINKAGES BETWEEN LEVEL OF REACTIVE OXYGEN SPECIES, CONTENTS OF NEUTROPHILES AND BLOOD GAS COMPOSITION IN EXPERIMENTAL ACUTE LUNG INJURY.

Acute lung injury (ALI) remains a major cause of acute respiratory failure and death of patients. Despite the achievements at the current stage in treatment, morbidity and mortality of ALI remain high. However, a deeper understanding of the pathogenetic links of ALI, identifying of the predictors that positively or negatively influence on the course of the syndrome, the correlation between some pathogenetic mechanisms will improve therapeutic strategies for patients with ALI, which makes the actuality of this study.
