We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of all patients diagnosed with lacrimal canalicular wall dehiscence/thinning from January 2020 to January 2024 and found three patients. Two patients were male, and the other patient was female. Patient ages ranged from 53 to 82 years.

Lateral Rectus Muscle Entrapment in Complex Orbital Fracture in a Child.

A 6-year-old boy presented with a lateral rectus muscle entrapment in a complex orbital fracture sustained during bicycle riding. He was diagnosed with a skull-base fracture with pneumocephalus and zygomatic and inferior orbital wall fractures at another hospital. The zygomatic fracture and pneumocephalus were treated conservatively.

Purpose: To assess the performance of "Bard," one of ChatGPT's competitors, in answering practice questions for the ophthalmology board certification exam.

Methods: In December 2023, 250 multiple-choice questions from the "BoardVitals" ophthalmology exam question bank were randomly selected and entered into Bard to assess the artificial intelligence chatbot's ability to comprehend, process, and answer complex scientific and clinical ophthalmic questions. A random mix of text-only and image-and-text questions were selected from 10 subsections.

Superficial Temple Lymphatic Malformation Appeared 13 Years after Initial Presentation With Orbital Lymphatic Malformation.

A 26-year-old male with a history of orbital lymphangioma and compressive optic neuropathy presented with recurrent proptosis in the OS. After examination and imaging, a left orbital lymphatic malformation and a new subcutaneous temporal-parietal vasculo-lymphatic malformation were diagnosed. The patient underwent a bleomycin injection for the orbital malformation and an excisional biopsy for the temporal lesion, leading to symptom resolution.

Eligible participants were randomized to preoperatively receive either (1) 1 g of TXA in 100 ml normal saline IV, (2) 50 µl/ml of TXA in local anesthesia, or (3) no TXA.

Practicality and Hemodynamic Advantage of Microvascularly Augmented Pectoralis Major Musculocutaneous Flap: Technical Approach and Evidence Based on Indocyanine Green Angiography.

We have recently shown that including the blood flow from the lateral thoracic artery (LTA) in addition to the thoracoacromial artery in the pectoralis major muscle musculocutaneous (PMMC) flap (bipedicle PMMC flap) can increase the perfusion of the flap. We also developed the concept of the supercharged PMMC flap, in which the LTA included in the flap was once cut and anastomosed to a cervical artery under a microscope. It is an effective solution to maintain the additional blood flow from the LTA, when the length of the LTA is compromised for reconstruction.
