Mice were randomized into 5 groups (n = 7/group) and treated with physiological saline (control), low-dose doxorubicin, and doxorubicin in combination with low, medium, or high doses of FO/Se.

Association of Body Mass Index with Long-Term All-Cause Mortality in Patients Who Had Undergone a Vertebroplasty for a Vertebral Compression Fracture.

We aimed to investigate the association between preoperative body mass index (BMI) and postoperative long-term mortality in patients who underwent a vertebroplasty. We retrospectively enrolled patients with a vertebral compression fracture who underwent a vertebroplasty between May 2013 and June 2020 in a medical center in Taiwan. The survival status of the study sample was confirmed by the end of March 2021.

Evidence suggests that hyperdense (HD) chronic subdural hematomas (CSDHs) have a higher recurrence than hypodense (LD) chronic subdural hematomas. The value of mean hematoma density (MHD) has been proven to be associated with postoperative recurrence. Background: Ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) is a rare but potentially devastating cause of severe spinal cord compression and degenerative cervical myelopathy. Because OPLL is rarely accompanied by prominent syringomyelia, when both are observed, other causes of syringomyelia should be considered. Simultaneous presentation of OPLL and hemangioblastoma of the cervical spine is a rare encounter and has never been reported in the English-language literature.

Changes in cognitive-motor interference during rehabilitation of cane walking in patients with subacute stroke: A pilot study.

No previous research has examined cognitive-motor interference (CMI) repeatedly in patients with subacute stroke. This pilot study aimed to report on the changes over time in CMI in patients with stroke who have recently learned to walk with a cane. The assessment started as soon as the participants could walk independently with a quad cane, and was repeated up to six sessions as long as the cane was still used.
