Background: Collision tumor are neoplasms, including two histologically distinct tumors that coexist in the same mass without histological admixture. The incidence of collision tumor is low and is rare clinically.

Aim: To investigate ultrasound images and application of ovarian-adnexal reporting and data system (O-RADS) to evaluate the risk and pathological characteristics of ovarian collision tumor.

MedGAN: An adaptive GAN approach for medical image generation.

Comput Biol Med

September 2023

School of Computer Science and Engineering, Hunan University of Arts and Sciences, Changde 415000, China.

Generative adversarial networks (GANs) and their variants as an effective method for generating visually appealing images have shown great potential in different medical imaging applications during past decades. However, some issues remain insufficiently investigated: many models still suffer from model collapse, vanishing gradients, and convergence failure. Considering the fact that medical images differ from typical RGB images in terms of complexity and dimensionality, we propose an adaptive generative adversarial network, namely MedGAN, to mitigate these issues.

Iris localization in non-cooperative environments is challenging and essential for accurate iris recognition. Motivated by the traditional iris-localization algorithm and the robustness of the YOLO model, we propose a novel iris-localization algorithm. First, we design a novel iris detector with a modified you only look once v4 (YOLO v4) model.

The excellent thermophysical properties of supercritical CO (sCO) close to the pseudocritical point make it possible to replace water as the coolant of microchannels in application of a high heat flux radiator. The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method verified by experimental data is used to make a comparison of the thermal hydraulic behavior in CO-cooled and of water-cooled microchannels. The operation conditions of the CO-based cooling cases cover the pseudocritical point (with the inlet temperature range of 306~320 K and the working pressure of 8 MPa), and the water-based cooling case has an inlet temperature of 308 K at the working pressure of 0.

To study the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on dancing robots in choreography, this paper introduces the biped-humanoid robot-imagined choreography model alongside the Psychological Space Construction (Psychological Construct) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). The proposed model is based on deep learning and imitating human thinking and is capable of imagining new dance elements. Finally, simulation experiments are designed to verify the model's effectiveness.

Recent advances in soil remediation technology for heavy metal contaminated sites: A critical review.

Sci Total Environ

September 2022

PowerChina ZhongNan Engineering Corporation Limited, Changsha 410014, PR China.

With the increasing development of industry and urbanization, heavy metal contaminated sites have become progressively conspicuous, particularly by unreasonable emissions from electroplating, nonferrous metals smelting, mine tailing, etc. In recent years, soil remediation technologies for heavy metal contaminated sites have developed rapidly. New and effective remediation technologies have emerged successively, and more successful practical applications have appeared.

Early childhood education in China has given stem education constant attention and study. On the one hand, it has introduced many foreign research findings on stem education, such as curriculum practice, evaluation systems, teacher training, and so on; on the other hand, this paper investigates the localization implementation path of stem education based on the realities of kindergartens. This paper investigates the development and implementation path of kindergarten stem education activities using data mining, analyzes how the kindergarten stem education monitoring index system is developed and further improved using data mining algorithm, and determines the function path and mode of data mining algorithm in kindergarten stem education.

In this study, combined electrooxidation and electrocoagulation (EO-EC) reactor using RuO-IrO/Ti and Al electrodes has been built for treatment of Cu-EDTA wastewater. Effects of current density, electrolyte, NaCl concentration, pH and initial concentration on EO-EC performance were investigated. In this study, Cu-EDTA removal efficiency increased with a higher current density.

In this paper, we present a parallel framework based on MPI for a large dataset to extract power spectrum features of EEG signals so as to improve the speed of brain signal processing. At present, the Welch method has been wildly used to estimate the power spectrum. However, the traditional Welch method takes a lot of time especially for the large dataset.

Fabrication of layered (CdS-Mn/MoS/CdTe)-promoted TiO nanotube arrays with superior photocatalytic properties.

J Colloid Interface Sci

January 2017

State Key Lab of Chemo/Biosensing & Chemometrics, College of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, Hunan University, Changsha 410082, China. Electronic address:

A novel (CdS-Mn/MoS/CdTe)-sensitized TiO nanotube arrays (NTAs) photoelectrode has been prepared by electrodeposite, successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) coupled with hydrothermal method. When a ZnS layer was added on the top of CdS-Mn/MoS/CdTe/TiO, a notable red-shift and high absorption was observed in the visible light region. The photocurrent density (mA/cm) systematically increases from TiO NTAs (0.

Small RNAs (sRNAs) are ~20 to 24 nucleotide single-stranded RNAs that play crucial roles in regulation of gene expression. In plants, sRNAs are classified into microRNAs (miRNAs), repeat-associated siRNAs (ra-siRNAs), phased siRNAs (pha-siRNAs), cis and trans natural antisense transcript siRNAs (cis- and trans-nat siRNAs). Pima (Gossypium barbadense L.

The harvest and process experiment were carried out on the stem and fruit of Akebia trifoliate. The results showed that the medicinal materials were more excellent as the collecting period postponed, the quality of main stem from three year old was better than those of youngers or first and second branch, such as the index of aridity, the color, the mineral content, the maceration extract content and airflow trait. Stems collected in the Mid-November were observably better than those in the March, May, July and Mid-September.

The four comprehensive experiments were concreted from a series of verifying genetics experiments, which are relatively specific. They were divided into four pieces of experiment modules: Drosophila melanogaster's classical comprehensive genetics experiment, Bio-Cytogenetics comprehensive experiment, Molecular Genetics comprehensive experiment and Population genetics experiment. The first three are major courses and the last one is a selective course.
