Article Synopsis
  • Hyperlipidemia (HLP) is a key factor in cardiovascular diseases, and quercetin (QUE), a natural flavonoid, shows promise as a treatment, though its exact effects on HLP are still not fully understood.
  • The study utilized advanced techniques like UPLC-Q-Exactive-MS metabolomics and network pharmacology to identify potential therapeutic targets and key metabolic pathways affected by QUE in HLP treatment.
  • Results revealed 138 relevant targets for QUE, with specific proteins (AKT1, TNF, VEGFA, mTOR, SREBP1, and SCD) being highlighted as potential therapeutic focuses; in vitro tests confirmed QUE's effectiveness in modulating these targets against HLP-associated changes.

Hypoxia and angiogenesis are the leading causes of tumor progression, and their strong correlation has been discovered in many cancers. However, their collective function's prognostic and biological roles were not reported in gastric cancer. Hence, we aimed to investigate the effects of hypoxia and angiogenesis on gastric cancer via sequencing data.

Verbascoside is a kind of phenylpropanoid glycoside derived from multiple medicinal plants, exerting anti-tumor effects in diverse human malignancies. However, the function of Verbascoside on the radiosensitivity of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells remains unknown. Human Huh7 and HepG2 cell lines were treated with Verbascosideis, and cell viability was detected with cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay.

Biliary tract cancer is a highly lethal malignancy with poor clinical outcome. Accumulating evidence indicates targeted therapeutics may provide new hope for improving treatment response in BTC, hence better understanding the genomic profile is particularly important. Since tumor tissue may not be available for some patients, a complementary method is urgently needed.

The clinical data and corresponding dynamic CT findings were investigated in detail to describe the clinical and imaging profiles of COVID-19 pneumonia disease progression. Forty HCWs with COVID-19 were included in this study and 30 enrolled for imaging assessment. Disease was divided into four stages based on time from onset: stage 1 (1-6 days), stage 2 (7-13 days), stage 3 (14-22 days), and stage 4 (> 22 days).

Introduction: The evolution of computed tomography (CT) findings in patients with mild coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia has not been described in detail. A large-scale longitudinal study is urgently required.

Methods: We analyzed 606 CT scans of 182 patients.

Background: Inflammatory pseudotumor-like follicular dendritic cell (IPT-like FDC) tumors of the liver is an uncommon tumor with extremely low incidence. To date, the radiologic findings of this tumor in multiphase computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) imaging have not been described.

Case Summary: Patient 1 is a 31-year-old Chinese female, whose complaining incidentally coincided with the finding of multiple liver masses.
