Methods

November 2024

Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory of Intelligent Processing of Big Data on Transportation, Changsha University of Science and Technology Changsha, Hunan, China.

Accurately predicting drug-target affinity is crucial in expediting the discovery and development of new drugs, which is a complex and risky process. Identifying these interactions not only aids in screening potential compounds but also guides further optimization. To address this, we propose a multi-perspective feature fusion model, MFF-DTA, which integrates chemical structure, biological sequence, and other data to comprehensively capture drug-target affinity features.

Through a comprehensive review of published literature on fish glue (FG), the ecological glue for traditional furniture, the traditional handicraft for making FG was found to include six main processes: soaking, steaming, manual smashing, decoction, filtration, and airing. The handicraft that makes FG is manual and is not only time-consuming and laborious but does not have clearly documented standard processes and is thus less repeatable. Considering this, experiments to optimize a new technique for making FG were designed.

In this work, we focus on solving the problem of timbre transfer in audio samples. The goal is to transfer the source audio's timbre from one instrument to another while retaining as much of the other musical elements as possible, including loudness, pitch, and melody. While image-to-image style transfer has been used for timbre and style transfer in music recording, the current state of the findings is unsatisfactory.

Mol Biol Rep

July 2024

Key Laboratory of Physical Fitness and Exercise Rehabilitation of the Hunan Province, College of Physical Education, Hunan Normal University, Changsha, Hunan, 410012, China.

Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) functions as a central regulator in modulating the activities of diverse antioxidant enzymes, maintaining cellular redox balance, and responding to oxidative stress (OS). Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (Keap1) serves as a principal negative modulator in controlling the expression of detoxification and antioxidant genes. It is widely accepted that OS plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of various diseases.

This study employs event-related potential (ERP) to examine the impact of empathic concern on prosocial decision-making with costs in both gain and loss contexts. In this experiment, participants can choose between two types of lottery tickets and pay lottery money to help the target person gain more money or lose less money. The behavioral results showed that regardless of the context of the decision (financial loss or gain), participants tended to help individuals who had induced high empathic concern.
