Phase-change materials (PCMs) are promising thermal storage medium for thermal management due to their efficient thermal energy harvesting capabilities. However, the low thermal conductivity (TC) and poor shape stability of PCMs have hindered their practical applications. Construction of an interconnected three-dimensional (3D) heat-conductive structure is an effective way to build phonon conduits and provide PCM confinement.

Major histocompatibility complex class I related chain A (MICA) is an important and stress-induced ligand of the natural killer group 2 member D receptor (NKG2D) that is expressed in various tumour cells. Given that the MICA/NKG2D signalling system is critically embedded in the innate and adaptive immune responses, it is particularly involved in the surveillance of cancer and viral infections. Emerging evidence has revealed the important roles of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) including microRNAs (miRNAs), long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs) in different cancer types.

At present, memristive neural networks with various topological structures have been widely studied. However, the memristive neural network with a star structure has not been investigated yet. In order to investigate the dynamic characteristics of neural networks with a star structure, a star memristive neural network (SMNN) model is proposed in this paper.

(1) Background: The physical fitness (PF) of hearing-impaired students has always been an international research hotspot since hearing-impaired students have difficulty in social interactions such as exercise or fitness programs. Sports interventions are proven to improve the fitness levels of hearing-impaired students; however, few studies evaluating the influence of Cha-cha (a type of Dance sport) training on the PF levels of hearing-impaired students have been conducted. (2) Purpose: This study aimed to intervene in hearing-impaired children through 12 weeks of Cha-cha dance training, evaluating its effects on their PF-related indicators, thus providing a scientific experimental basis for hearing-impaired children to participate in dance exercises effectively.

As the incidence of Alzheimer's disease (AD) increases year by year, more people begin to study this disease. In recent years, many studies on reactive oxygen species (ROS), neuroinflammation, autophagy, and other fields have confirmed that hypoxia is closely related to AD. However, no researchers have used bioinformatics methods to study the relationship between AD and hypoxia.

Background: Oral submucous fibrosis (OSF) is a chronic disease with carcinogenic tendency that poses a non-negligible threat to human health. Exosomes derived from human adipose mesenchymal stem cells (ADSC-Exo) reduces visceral and cutaneous fibroses, but their role in OSF has received little attention. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of ADSC-Exo on OSF and elucidate the mechanism.

Epidemiological investigations have indicated a correlation between elevated plasma levels of Dickkopf-related protein 1 (DKK1) and the presence of atherosclerosis. However, the exact causal relationship of DKK1 with the development of coronary artery disease (CAD) and ischemic stroke (IS) remains unclear. To address this gap, our study aimed to explore their causal association using a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) approach.

An electrochemical sensor for the detection of uric acid was constructed using cobalt oxide-modified porous carbon@multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNTs) composite material for the modification of the electrode. Firstly, ZIF-67 is generated on carbon nanotubes using the surfactant cetylammonium bromide (CTAB) as template. The vesicles generated by CTAB act as nucleation sites for the in situ growth of ZIF-67.

Osseous cystic echinococcosis (CE) is a rare disease caused by Echinococcus granulosus, which is characterized by high morbidity, disability, and mortality. However, it is severely neglected due to its mainly regional epidemic. The development of osseous CE is usually accompanied by severe bone erosion and destruction at the site of infection; however, there is a gap in research on the mechanism of this phenomenon.

As a transitional metal, copper plays a crucial role in maintaining the normal physiological activities of mammals. The intracellular copper concentration is meticulously regulated to maintain extremely low levels through homeostatic regulation. Excessive accumulation of free copper in cells can have deleterious effects, as observed in conditions such as Wilson's disease.

Cellular senescence serves as a fundamental and underlying activity that drives the aging process, and it is intricately associated with numerous age-related diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), a neurodegenerative aging-related disorder characterized by progressive cognitive impairment. Although increasing evidence suggests that senescent microglia play a role in the pathogenesis of AD, their exact role remains unclear. In this study, we quantified the levels of lactic acid in senescent microglia, and hippocampus tissues of naturally aged mice and AD mice models (FAD and APP/PS1).

Fatty liver disease (FLD) is a clinical and pathological syndrome characterized by excessive fat deposition and even steatosis in hepatocytes. It has been proven that liver inflammation induced by fat and its derivatives are involved in the pathogenesis of FLD, while the precise mechanism still remains poorly understood. Pyroptosis is programmed inflammatory cell death driving cell swelling and membrane rupture.

Biometric measurements in fetal ultrasound images are one of the most highly demanding medical image analysis tasks that can directly contribute to diagnosing fetal diseases. However, the natural high-speckle noise and shadows in ultrasound data present big challenges for automatic biometric measurement. Almost all the existing dominant automatic methods are two-stage models, where the key anatomical structures are segmented first and then measured, thus bringing segmentation and fitting errors.

Accumulating evidence has suggested that the gut microbiome plays an important role in depression. Akkermansia muciniphila (AKK), a next-generation probiotic, shows a beneficial effect on immune and metabolic homeostasis. The relative abundance of AKK was found negatively correlated with depressive symptoms in both clinical and pre-clinical studies.
