Extensive research has recently been conducted to investigate the regulating impact of exosomal circular RNAs (circRNAs) in throughout the development of multiple malignancies. Nevertheless, there is still much to learn about the biological roles and underlying mechanisms of exosomal circRNAs in colorectal cancer (CRC). Exosomes (exo) were isolated from blood samples and CRC cells by differential centrifugation.

Evidence for the treatment of patients with mild-to-moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is limited. The efficacy of N-acetylcysteine (an antioxidant and mucolytic agent) for patients with mild-to-moderate COPD is uncertain. In this multicentre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, we randomly assigned 968 patients with mild-to-moderate COPD to treatment with N-acetylcysteine (600 mg, twice daily) or matched placebo for two years.

Objectives: The association between C-reactive protein and bone density has been primarily investigated in previous studies, with little to no research investigating its relationship with total bone trabecular score.
Methods: Data from the NHANES database (500 males and 633 females) were utilized in this study to perform a multiple weighted linear regression analysis to estimate this relationship of CRP and TBS. Subsequently, population characterization, univariate logistic regression analysis, subgroup and interaction analysis were in progress.

Ewing's sarcoma (ES) represents a rare yet exceedingly aggressive neoplasm that poses a significant health risk to the pediatric and adolescent population. The clinical outcomes for individuals with relapsed or refractory ES are notably adverse, primarily attributed to the constrained therapeutic alternatives available. Despite significant advancements in the field, molecular pathology-driven therapeutic strategies have yet to achieve a definitive reduction in the mortality rates associated with ES.

Myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (MI/R) injury is a detrimental disease with high mortality worldwide. We aimed to explore the role of G protein-coupled receptor 4 (GPR4) and lysophosphatidic acid receptor 1 (LPAR1) in MI/R injury in vitro. H9c2 cells were exposed to oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) conditions to simulate the MI/R injury and GPR4 expression was detected.

Background: CD74 is a non-polymorphic type II transmembrane glycoprotein. It is involved in the regulation of T and B cell development, and dendritic cell (DC) motility. Numerous studies have found that CD74 exerts an essential role in tumor immunity, but the expression profile of CD74 is still not systematically reported, and its value in human pan-cancer analysis is unknown.

Sanhan Huashi granules (SHG) demonstrated therapeutic effects against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in observational studies. In order to compare the effectiveness and safety of SHG and nirmatrelvir-ritonavir in treating adults with mild-to-moderate COVID-19, we conducted a randomized, active-controlled, open-label, multi-center trial conducted between February and July in 2023. The patients were randomized in a 1:1 ratio to the SHG group and the nirmatrelvir-ritonavir group.

Background: Despite the interest in mesenchymal stem cells (MSC), their potential to treat abnormal scarring, especially keloids, is yet to be described. The present study aimed to investigate the therapeutic potential of exosomes derived from human bone marrow MSCs (hBMSC-Exos) in alleviating keloid formation.
Methods: Exosomes were isolated from hBMSC, and keloid fibroblasts (KFs) were treated with hBMSC-Exos.

The meniscus is vital for maintaining knee homeostasis and function. Meniscal calcification is one of the earliest radiological indicators of knee osteoarthritis (KOA), and meniscal calcification is associated with alterations in biomechanical properties. Meniscal calcification originates from a biochemical process similar to vascular calcification.

Flexion-type pediatric humeral supracondylar fractures are rare, and the reduction technique remains contradictory. A minimally invasive technique using percutaneous leverage reduction combined with an external fixator was described to achieve satisfactory reduction and avoid the open reduction in this study. The operation and clinical results of patients treated with this technique were retrospectively compared with traditional closed reduction.

Background: The dysregulation between pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses during sepsis is a crucial factor in driving sepsis progression. Acute lung injury (ALI) resulting from excessive production and accumulation of inflammatory mediators in the lungs contributes to impaired lung barrier function. The activation of the NF-κB signaling pathway during inflammation leads to the transcriptional activation of multiple inflammatory genes.
