A strategy for the efficient metal-free C-O bond cleavage of ester using amines for the synthesis of substituted oxazoles was developed for the first time. The synthesis proceeded smoothly under metal-free conditions, combining C-O bond cleavage as well as C-N and C-O bond formation in one pot to yield desired products in moderate to excellent yields, and accommodated a wide range of functional groups and substrates.

Soft tissue sarcomas are mesenchymal tumors that account for about 1% of all malignancies. We retrospectively analyzed a rare case of a painful intra-muscular extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma in the thigh of a 35-year-old man, that had undergone excision. Histological and immunohistochemical analysis of the mass revealed extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma.

Developing efficient and inexpensive CO capture technologies is a significant way to reduce carbon emissions. In this work, a novel chitosan/lithium sulfonate double network high strength hydrogel is synthesized by electron beam radiation. Due to the electron beam having a wide radiation area and certain penetrating power, the free radical polymerization can be initiated more uniformly and quickly in the hydrogel.

It is highly desirable to explore efficient catalysts for reducing toxic Cr to benign Cr under mild and eco-friendly conditions. This article describes a facile fabrication of nitrogen doped carbon (N@C-g-CN) as a metal-free catalyst for Cr reduction using lignin as a carbon source and g-CN nanosheets as a nitrogen source. The structural properties of the N@C-g-CN catalyst are characterized by TEM, HR-TEM, XRD, TGA, Raman, EDS-mapping, XPS and BET techniques.

Objective: To compare the effect of Direct Anterior Approach (DAA) and Orthopadisehe Chirurgie Munchen (OCM) in the prone position on early joint function after primary hip arthroplasty in young adults.

Methods: In this retrospective analysis, 85 patients who received primary hip arthroplasty between September 2018 and January 2020 were enrolled and divided into the OCM group (43 cases with OCM) and the DAA group (42 cases with DAA) according to the different surgical methods. The general operative conditions, postoperative conditions and imaging manifestations, postoperative pain, changes in WOMAC scale scores, and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of geniposide(GP) on the expression of prokineticin(PK2) and prokineticin receptor 1(PKR1) in db/db mice with diabetic nephropathy(DN), so as to explore how the PK2 signaling pathway participated in the pathological changes of DN and whether GP exerted the therapeutic effect through this signaling pathway. Male mice were randomly divided into four groups, namely db/m, db/db, db/db+GP, and db/m+GP groups, with five in each group. The mice in the db/db+GP and db/m+GP groups were gavaged with 150 mg·kg~(-1) GP for eight successive weeks.

Concerns about the potential neurotoxicity of general anesthesia to the developing brain have been increasing in recent years. Animal studies have shown that neonatal exposure to general anesthesia causes both acute neurotoxicity and behavioral abnormalities later in life. In the present study, we observed over-activation of neuronal apoptosis in the brain of neonatal mice after a single exposure to anesthesia with sevoflurane for 6 hours at the age of 7 days.

Background: Spiders are the most dominant predatory natural enemies of insect pests in the tea plantation ecosystem. There has been a large amount of literature published about the investigation of spider species in Chinese tea plantations from 1982 to 2020. Here, the spider species in Chinese tea plantations has been summarised and the dominant spider species in each regional tea plantation recorded.

A quantitative description of microstructure is highly desirable for the precise construction of high performance graphene based polymer composites. In this paper, the effects of doping graphene oxide (GO) on the microstructure, thermal and mechanical properties of the obtained graphene oxide/waterborne polyurethane (GO/WPU) composites were systematically investigated. In order to give a deep insight into the microstructure of GO/WPU composites, especially for the relative free volume fraction ( ) and interfacial interaction intensity (), positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) was employed for its quantitative characterization.

Nelumbinis Plumula has the traditional sedative effect, but its mechanism is unclear. In this study, the relationship between traditional sedative effect and hypnotic effect of Nelumbinis Plumula was taken as the starting point to study the hypnotic mechanism of the major medicinal components in Nelumbinis Plumula by the network pharmacology method. Targets of active Nelumbinis Plumula alkaloids were screened by Swiss Target Prediction server,TCMSP and BATMAN-TCM.

Group-IV monochalcogenides (GeSe, SnSe, GeS, SnS) are a class of promising monolayer materials for nanoelectronic applications. However, the GeSe monolayer is the only direct semiconductor in the group-IV monochalcogenides, which limits their application in nanoelectronic fields. Stacking is usually a good strategy to design two-dimensional (2D) materials with novel properties.
