Background: In the face of a global nursing shortage, nursing interns are crucial to sustaining the healthcare workforce. However, these interns encounter significant challenges in career decision-making, often exacerbated by the impostor phenomenon, which impedes their capacity to make informed choices. Despite its importance, little research has been reported on the specific conditions and contributing factors that affect nursing interns' career decision-making processes.

Rationale: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory gastrointestinal disease typically coexisting with intestinal microbiota dysbiosis, oxidative stress, and an inflammatory response. Although its underlying mechanism of action is unclear, Ma-Mu-Ran Antidiarrheal Capsules (MMRAC) have demonstrated significant therapeutic efficacy for UC.
Methods: The mechanism of action of MMRAC in the treatment of UC model was investigated by combining metabolomics, transcriptomics, and intestinal microbiota detection techniques.

Diagnosis of uveitis is challenging due to the multitude of possible pathogenies. Identifying infectious and non-infectious uveitis is of great clinical significance. Recently, metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) was used to detect infectious and non-infectious uveitis, but its efficacy has not been widely evaluated.

Hirudin, a natural biological polypeptide macromolecule secreted by the salivary glands of medicinal leech, is a specific thrombin inhibitor with multiple favourable bioactivities, including anti-coagulation, anti-fibrotic, and anti-tumour. Despite several anticoagulants have been widely applied in clinic, hirudin shows advantages in reducing the incidence of bleeding side effects by virtue of its high specificity in binding to thrombin. As a result, hirudin has been tested in clinical practice to prevent and treat several complex diseases.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections promote liver cancer initiation by inducing inflammation and cellular stress. Despite the primarily indirect effect on oncogenesis, HBV is associated with a recurrent genomic phenotype in HCC, suggesting that it impacts the biology of established HCC. Characterization of the interaction of HBV with host proteins and the mechanistic contributions of HBV to HCC initiation and maintenance could provide insights into HCC biology and uncover therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Background: Addressing antibiotic resistance is important for reducing parents' self-medication of antibiotics for children's upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs). However, the decision-making process for parents who irrationally use such antibiotics is still unclear. In this study, we aimed to explore the reasons why parents self-medicate antibiotics for children's URTIs based on a discrete choice experiment.

At present, there lacks a definitive pharmaceutical intervention or therapeutic approach for diabetes-associated cognitive impairment. Herein, we delved into the impact of electroacupuncture on cognitive function in high-fat diet/streptozocin (HFD/STZ)-induced T2DM mice and underlying mechanisms. Hippocampal insulin resistance was determined by western blot analysis.

Two undescribed sesquiterpene lactones (1 and 2), along with two known analogs (3 and 4), were isolated from Syneilesis aconitifolia. Their structures and absolute configurations were elucidated using spectroscopic analysis, ECD calculations, and single crystal x-ray diffraction. Compound 3 exhibited the highest cytotoxic activity against 4T1 cells, with an IC value of 10.

Background: While prior research has established a correlation between dietary choline intake and bone density in the elderly, the relationship in adolescents remains ambiguous. This study seeks to examine the association between dietary choline intake and bone density in American adolescents.
Methods: Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) for 2005 to 2018 were used in this study, encompassing participants aged 12-19 years.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the willingness of clinical nurse educator to adopt virtual reality technology, while also examining the underlying mechanisms that influence this willingness through the lens of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT).
Methods: A convenience sampling method was employed to select 225 clinical nurse educator, all of whom possess a professional qualification certificate as nurse practitioners, from a tertiary hospital in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. The study utilized an adapted UTAUT model theory-based design to develop several questionnaires: the performance expectancy questionnaire (11 items), the effort expectancy questionnaire (4 items), the social influence questionnaire (6 items), the facilitating conditions questionnaire (7 items), and the behavioral intention questionnaire (4 items).

In the general population, there is limited evidence for the associations between hand eczema (HE) and lifestyle factors, and between the severity of HE and quality of life. This study aimed to estimate the risk factors for the incidence of HE in the general population and the risk factors for the severity of HE. A cross-sectional questionnaire was administered to 121 HE patients in a hospital from December 2018 to December 2019 in Wuhan.

Objectives: To explore ferroptosis-related genes in osteoporosis through bioinformatic analysis and study.
Methods: Osteoporosis-related genes were identified from dataset GSE35958 in the Gene Expression Omnibus database; and the ferroptosis-related genes were identified from the FerrDb database. These were intersected with the differentially expressed genes in GSE35958 to obtain ferroptosis-related genes in osteoporosis.
