To investigate the bacterial community structure and physicochemical characteristics of different types of Daqu in the Binzhou region, this study employed traditional pure culture methods, high-throughput sequencing technology, and conventional physicochemical assays for analysis. The research results indicate that Enterococcus faecium and Bacillus licheniformis emerged as the main LAB and Bacillus species in Daqu from Binzhou region, respectively. In addition, high-throughput sequencing revealed significant differences in bacterial community structure between the two types of Daqu (P < 0.

As a critical component of aero-engines, the processing quality of the blade has a significant impact on the engine's overall performance and service life. First, from the perspective of double abrasive grains, two finite element models-simultaneous and sequential scratches-are established. The interaction between the two abrasive grains affects not only the polishing force and chip formation but also the surface morphology of the processed workpiece.

State Key Laboratory of Biocatalysis and Enzyme Engineering, Hubei Key Laboratory of Industrial Biotechnology, Hubei University, Wuhan 430062, Hubei, China.

Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD), caused by enteroviruses, mostly including EV71, CVA6, CVA10, and CVA16, is an acute infectious disease commonly found in children. Due to no approved antiviral therapies and available vaccines, except for EV71, developing accurate diagnostic methods of HFMD is essential for controlling its spread and mitigating its impact on public health. Here, we create a MIRA-HEV-PAND multiple nucleic acid typing method that utilizes Ago to identify enterovirus type A pathogens (EV71, CVA6, CVA10, and CVA16) and universal type EVU.

Spice and Beverage Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, National Center of Important Tropical Crops Engineering and Technology Research, Key Laboratory of Processing Suitability and Quality Control of the Special Tropical Crops of Hainan Province, Wanning 571533, Hainan, China. Electronic address:

To mitigate adverse reactions induced by 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), Cnidium officinale fraction 2 (F2) polysaccharides served as the macromolecular carrier, facilitating its reaction with carboxymethyl-5-fluorouracil (C-5-FU) for producing F2-C-5-FU. Subsequently, this compound could react with folic acid (FA) through the ester bond, forming F2-C-5-FU-FA, as verified through NMR analysis. The in vitro anticancer efficacy of F2-C-5-FU-FA was evaluated using SKOV-3 cells that expressed folate receptor (FR) and FR-deficient A549 cells, showing greater cytotoxicity in the SKOV-3 cell line due to the FRs on the cell membrane.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are recruited by malignant tumor cells to the tumor microenvironment (TME) and play a crucial role in the initiation and progression of malignant tumors. This role encompasses immune evasion, promotion of angiogenesis, stimulation of cancer cell proliferation, correlation with cancer stem cells, multilineage differentiation within the TME, and development of treatment resistance. Simultaneously, extensive research is exploring the homing effect of MSCs and MSC-derived extracellular vesicles (MSCs-EVs) in tumors, aiming to design them as carriers for antitumor substances.

Electronic address:

High-temperature Daqu (HTD) is the starter for producing sauce-flavor Baijiu, with different-colored Daqu (white, yellow, and black) reflecting variations in fermentation chamber conditions, chemical reactions, and associated microbiota. Understanding the relationship between Daqu characteristics and flavor/taste is challenging yet vital for improving Baijiu fermentation. This study utilized metagenomic sequencing, physicochemical analysis, and electronic sensory evaluation to compare three different-colored HTD and their roles in fermentation.

Background: Accurate preoperative staging of gastric cancer (GC), a common malignant tumor worldwide, is critical for appropriate treatment plans and prognosis. Dynamic three-phase enhanced computed tomography (CT) scanning for preoperative staging of GC has limitations in evaluating tumor angiogenesis. CD34, a marker on vascular endothelial cell surfaces, is promising in evaluating tumor angiogenesis.

A new statistical approach for China road freight transport at a subnational level.

PLoS One

October 2023

Hubei Key Laboratory of Power System Design and Test for Electrical Vehicle, Hubei University of Arts and Science, Xiangyang, China.

Currently, there is a large deviation between official road freight data and real road freight performance at a subnational level in China. In order to deal with this deviation, the new concept of local freight tonnage and ton-kilometers is presented in this paper based on the territoriality principle, where either the origin or the destination of goods transported is local. Also, the statistic procedures and estimation models of the local freight tonnage and ton-kilometers are proposed based on five accessible basic datasets.

Electronic address:

Background: Rezivertinib (BPI-7711) is a novel third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) which revealed the systematic and central nervous system (CNS) antitumor activities for EGFR T790M-mutated advanced NSCLC in previous clinical studies and is further analyzed here.

Methods: Eligible patients from the previous phase I and phase IIb studies of rezivertinib were included for pooled analysis. Post-progressive patients who received a prescribed dosage (≥180 mg) of rezivertinib orally once daily were included in full analysis set (FAS), while those with stable, asymptomatic CNS lesions, including measurable and non-measurable ones at baseline were included in CNS full analysis set (cFAS).

Viruses

February 2023

State Key Laboratory of Biocatalysis and Enzyme Engineering, Hubei Key Laboratory of Industrial Biotechnology, Hubei Collaborative Innovation Center for Green Transformation of Bio-Resources, School of Life Sciences, Hubei University, Wuhan 430062, China.

Article Synopsis
  • Parvovirus B19 (B19V) is a human pathogen causing several diseases, but there are currently no antiviral treatments or vaccines available for it.
  • Researchers developed a new diagnostic method called B19-NS1 PAND that uses Argonaute-mediated nucleic acid detection, which requires less complex design and has a higher sensitivity compared to existing methods like the E-CRISPR biosensor.
  • The B19-NS1 PAND successfully detected the virus in clinical samples with 100% accuracy when compared to PCR tests, potentially improving the diagnosis and study of B19V outbreaks.

Delivery routing problem of pure electric vehicle with multi-objective pick-up and delivery integration.

PLoS One

February 2023

Hubei Key Laboratory of Power System Design and Test for Electrical Vehicle, Hubei University of Arts and Science, Xiangyang, China.

With the growth of people's environmental awareness and the encouragement of government policies, the use of electric vehicles in logistics distribution is gradually increasing. In order to solve the dual demand of customers' simultaneous pick-up and delivery in the "last kilometer logistics", an electric vehicle routing problem with simultaneous pick-up and delivery and time window (EVRPSPDTW) is considered from the perspective of multi-objective distribution in this paper. Firstly, a decision-making model based on distribution cost and power consumption function is established.
