Background: Precise glioma segmentation from multi-parametric magnetic resonance (MR) images is essential for brain glioma diagnosis. However, due to the indistinct boundaries between tumor sub-regions and the heterogeneous appearances of gliomas in volumetric MR scans, designing a reliable and automated glioma segmentation method is still challenging. Although existing 3D Transformer-based or convolution-based segmentation networks have obtained promising results via multi-modal feature fusion strategies or contextual learning methods, they widely lack the capability of hierarchical interactions between different modalities and cannot effectively learn comprehensive feature representations related to all glioma sub-regions.

Introduction: Venous thromboembolism (VTE), including deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, is a common and potentially fatal post-surgery complication. Research has shown that 50% of VTE causes are intraoperative, with the risk of occurrence highest during and immediately post-surgery. Therefore, strategies for early assessment and prevention should be established.

Objective: Complications or serious adverse events (SAEs) are common in the treatment of patients with large vessel occlusion stroke. There has been limited study of the impact of SAEs for patients after endovascular thrombectomy (EVT). The goal of this study was to characterize the rates and clinical impact of SAEs following EVT.

Background: Owing to the lack of evidence-based medical studies with large sample sizes, the surgical approach for the radical resection of rectal neuroendocrine tumors remains controversial.
Methods: We retrospectively collected the medical records of patients with rectal neuroendocrine tumors who underwent radical resection at 17 large tertiary care hospitals in China between January 1, 2010, and April 30, 2022. All patients were divided into laparoscopic and open surgery groups.

Genome-scale metabolic models (GEMs) are powerful tools for predicting cellular metabolic and physiological states. However, there are still missing reactions in GEMs due to incomplete knowledge. Recent gaps filling methods suggest directly predicting missing responses without relying on phenotypic data.

Background: In recent years, the incidence of abdominal obesity among the middle-aged and older adult population in China has significantly increased. However, the gender disparities in the spatial distribution of abdominal obesity incidence and its relationship with meteorological factors among this demographic in China remain unclear. This gap in knowledge highlights the need for further research to understand these dynamics and inform targeted public health strategies.

The treatment strategies for either human or animal babesiosis have been established and used for many years. With the rising indications of drug resistance and adverse side effects, finding effective and alternative therapies is urgently needed. Sitamaquine (SQ) is an 8-aminoquinoline that was first synthesized as a part of the collaborative anti-malarial program that led to primaquine.

Objective: To investigate the value of fat-suppression (FS) T2 relaxation time (T2RT) derived from FS T2 mapping and water fraction (WF) derived from T2 IDEAL to predict the treatment response to intravenous glucocorticoids (IVGC) in patients with thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) based on texture analysis.
Materials And Methods: In this study, 89 patients clinically diagnosed with active and moderate-to-severe TAO were enroled (responsive group, 48 patients; unresponsive group, 41 patients). The baseline clinical characteristics and texture features were compared between the two groups.

In recent years, great progress has been made on the study of nanozymes with enzyme-like properties. Here, bimetallic Fe and Ni nanoclusters were anchored on the nanosheets of nitrogen-rich layered graphitic carbon nitride by one-step pyrolysis at high temperature (Fe/Ni-CN). The loading content of Fe and Ni on Fe/Ni-CN is as high as 8.

Single-atom catalysts (SACs) have been increasingly explored in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries to address the issues of severe polysulfide shuttle effects and sluggish redox kinetics. However, the structure-activity relationship between single-atom coordination structures and the performance of Li-S batteries remain unclear. In this study, a P, S co-coordination asymmetric configuration of single atoms is designed to enhance the catalytic activity of Co central atoms and promote d-p orbital hybridization between Co and S atoms, thereby limiting polysulfides and accelerating the bidirectional redox process of sulfur.

Cross-domain few-shot Learning (CDFSL) is proposed to first pre-train deep models on a source domain dataset where sufficient data is available, and then generalize models to target domains to learn from only limited data. However, the gap between the source and target domains greatly hampers the generalization and target-domain few-shot finetuning. To address this problem, we analyze the domain gap from the aspect of frequency-domain analysis.

Introduction: With the discovery of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), it is considered as a valuable tool for supporting the treatment of severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). It has gained increasing attention, particularly during the COVID-19 epidemic. However, to date, no relevant bibliometric research on the association between ECMO and ARDS (ECMO-ARDS) has been reported.

Background: Inhibition of 5-HT3 (5-Hydroxyl Tryptamine) receptors is known to enhance morphine analgesia in animal models. We tested the efficacy of azasetron, a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist, on postoperative chronic pain after pulmonary surgery in a randomized triple-blind controlled study.
Methods: A total of 250 patients who were scheduled to receive pulmonary surgery were randomized to patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) using 200 µg sufentanil with normal saline or 200 µg sufentanil with 20 mg azasetron.
