The renin-angiotensin system (RAS), composed mainly of renin, angiotensin, and aldosterone, is a key endocrine pathway involved in cardiovascular activity regulation. Under physiological conditions, the RAS plays a vital role in water and salt metabolism, blood pressure regulation, and electrolyte balance. Angiotensin II (Ang II) is the most important active component of the RAS, and its receptors are concentrated in vascular, pulmonary, cardiac, and renal tissues in vivo.

Oryzanol has a variety of physiological activities and is widely used in food and medicine. However, its utilization form and bioavailability are limited by poor solubility and photothermal stability. In this paper, an inclusion complex (IC) was prepared by modifying β-cyclodextrin as a molecular carrier to encapsulate Oryzanol.

Objective: Osteoarthritis is a common joint disease caused by a variety of risk factors, and it has been found that many biochemical markers are abnormal in peripheral blood and urine of patients with OA. The aim of this study was to elucidate the causal relationship between biomarkers associated with these processes and OA using Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.
Method: The inverse variance weighted (IVW) approach to MR was primarily used to explore causal associations between exposures and outcomes using publicly available genetic variants from large genome-wide association studies (GWAS).

The conventional method of dyeing cellulose diacetate (CDA) fabric with disperse dyes consumes significant amounts of fresh water and dispersants, contributing to environmental pollution and health hazards. This study explored the use of liquid paraffin as an alternative to aqueous mediums for dyeing CDA fabric with Disperse Blue 56 dyes, eliminating the need for dispersants. An L orthogonal array was used to optimize dyeing conditions based on the color strength values.

Multi-view classification integrates features from different views to optimize classification performance. Most of the existing works typically utilize semantic information to achieve view fusion but neglect the spatial information of data itself, which accommodates data representation with correlation information and is proven to be an essential aspect. Thus robust independent subspace analysis network, optimized by sparse and soft orthogonal optimization, is first proposed to extract the latent spatial information of multi-view data with subspace bases.

Spatially resolved transcriptomics (SRT) technologies facilitate the exploration of cell fates or states within tissue microenvironments. Despite these advances, the field has not adequately addressed the regulatory heterogeneity influenced by microenvironmental factors. Here, we propose a novel Spatially Aligned Graph Transfer Learning (SpaGTL), pretrained on a large-scale multi-modal SRT data of about 100 million cells/spots to enable inference of context-specific spatial gene regulatory networks across multiple scales in data-limited settings.

Acute kidney injury induced by stings from multiple wasps is a medical emergency and is a driving factor of acute renal dysfunction. Numerous studies have shown that mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (mtROS) play a key role in ischemia-reperfusion injury-, cisplatin-, and sepsis-induced acute kidney injury. However, the role of mtROS and its underlying mechanisms in wasp-venom-induced acute kidney injury remain inconclusive.

With the resolution revolution of cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and the rapid development of image processing technology, cryo-EM has become an indispensable experimental method for determining the three-dimensional structures of biological macromolecules. However, structural modeling from cryo-EM maps remains a difficult task for intermediate-resolution maps. In such cases, detection of protein secondary structures and nucleic acid locations in an EM map is of great value for model building of the map.

Exploring valleytronics in two-dimensional materials is of great significance for the development of advanced information devices. In this study, we investigate the valley polarization and electronic properties of V-doped 2H-phase Janus MoSeTe by using first-principles calculations. Our results reveal a remarkable valley spin splitting up to 60 meV, driven by the breaking of time-reversal symmetry due to the magnetic effect of V 3d orbitals.

Motivation: The classification task based on whole-slide images (WSIs) is a classic problem in computational pathology. Multiple Instance Learning (MIL) provides a robust framework for analyzing whole slide images with slide-level labels at gigapixel resolution. However, existing MIL models typically focus on modeling the relationships between instances while neglecting the variability across the channel dimensions of instances, which prevents the model from fully capturing critical information in the channel dimension.

Biological ion channels exhibit strong gating effects due to their zero-current closed states. However, the gating capabilities of artificial nanochannels have typically fallen short of biological channels, primarily owing to the larger nanopores that fail to completely block ion transport in the off-states. Here, we demonstrate solid-state hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks-based membranes to achieve high-performance ambient humidity-controlled proton gating, accomplished by switching the proton transport pathway instead of relying on conventional ion blockage/activation effects.

Before patients begin out-of-bed exercises following internal fixation surgery for acetabular fractures, turning over in bed serves as a crucial intervention to mitigate complications associated with prolonged bed rest. However, data on the safety of this maneuver post-surgery are limited, and the biomechanical evidence remains unclear. This study aims to introduce a novel loading protocol designed to preliminarily simulate the action of turning over in bed and to compare the biomechanical properties of two fixation methods for acetabular fractures under this new protocol.

Extracranial carotid artery aneurysm (ECAA) is a relatively rare vascular lesion of the neck, and is usually found incidentally and is usually asymptomatic. Surgery is currently the first choice for symptomatic or growing ECAA, including open resection of the entire aneurysm, with or without arterial replacement and insertion of grafts. Ischemic stroke is the most serious complication after resection of ECAA.

Single-incision plus one-port laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy with double-channel anastomosis (SILT-DT) is a minimally invasive surgical approach for treating proximal gastric cancer. This technique includes comprehensive laparoscopic resection of the proximal stomach, lymph node dissection, and double-tract anastomosis. By integrating single-port laparoscopic surgery with an auxiliary operating hole, SILT-DT reduces procedural difficulty while facilitating the placement of an abdominal drainage tube.

Autonomous driving has demonstrated impressive driving capabilities, with behavior decision-making playing a crucial role as a bridge between perception and control. Imitation Learning (IL) and Reinforcement Learning (RL) have introduced innovative approaches to behavior decision-making in autonomous driving, but challenges remain. On one hand, RL's policy networks often lack sufficient reasoning ability to make optimal decisions in highly complex and stochastic environments.

The influence of different pore sizes on the compressive strength and elastic modulus of recycled concrete is an important issue in the academic circle. Aiming at this problem, a quantitative characterization model of the compressive strength and elastic modulus of recycled concrete based on pore grading was established in this paper. The compressive strength, elastic modulus, porosity and distribution of pore size of recycled concrete were measured by a concrete test and nuclear magnetic resonance technology, and the influences of different pore sizes on the compressive strength and elastic modulus of recycled concrete were analyzed, and the rationality of the quantitative characterization model was verified.
