Objectives: We aimed to construct novel prognostic models based on RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) in breast cancer (BRCA) and explore their roles in this disease and their effects on tumor-infiltrating immune cells (TIICs).
Methods: Datasets were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. Functions and prognostic values of RBPs were systematically investigated using a series of bioinformatics analysis methods.

Extensive data research is helpful to find sensitive biomarkers for prognostic prediction of metastatic breast cancer. Through analyzing multiple GEO datasets, literature retrieval, and verified in GEPIA datasets, we identify BIRC5 (Baculoviral IAP repeat containing 5) and CDO1 (Cysteine dioxygenase type 1) as DEGs (differentially expressed genes) between breast tumor and normal tissue and DEGs between metastatic breast cancer and breast cancer in situ. Then, we performed a series of in silico studies on BIRC5 and CDO1 using online tools including the UALCAN, TIMER, TCGA-BRCA, LinkedOmics Kaplan-Meier Plotter, and an R script for analysis.

Background: Complete response after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (rNACT) elevates the surgical outcomes of patients with breast cancer, however, non-rNACT have a higher risk of death and recurrence.
Aim: To establish novel machine learning (ML)-based predictive models for predicting probability of rNACT in breast cancer patients who intends to receive NACT.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 487 breast cancer patients who underwent mastectomy or breast-conserving surgery and axillary lymph node dissection following neoadjuvant chemotherapy at the Hubei Cancer Hospital between January 1, 2013, and October 1, 2021.

Aberrant alternative splicing of pre-mRNA is an emerging cancer hallmark. Many cancer-associated genes undergo alternative splicing to produce multiple isoforms with diverse or even antagonistic functions. Oncogenic isoforms are often up-regulated, whereas tumor suppressive isoforms are down-regulated during tumorigenesis.

Background: There are many different methods used for immediate breast reconstruction, but the advantages and disadvantages between distinct methods are not reported and compared directly.
Methods: We collected the data of patients who underwent breast reconstruction from 2010 to 2015 and classified a total of 103 patients into three groups: i) skin- or nipple-sparing mastectomy with implant and partial latissimus dorsi flap (MIPLD); ii) skin- or nipple-sparing mastectomy with the whole latissimus dorsi flap (MWLD); and iii) breast-conserving surgery and partial latissimus dorsi flap (BCSPLD). The outcome, safety, and cosmetic outcome of the latissimus dorsi muscle flap with or without implant were reported and compared.

Breast cancer (BC) is the most common cancer among women. LINC00675 and miR-513b-5p has been reported to be abnormally expressed in multiple types of cancers and modulate malignant phenotypes of cancer cells. However, to date, the functional role and underlying regulatory mechanism of LINC00675 and miR-513b-5p in BC remains largely unknown.

Purpose: Latissimus dorsi flap is a widely used technique in breast reconstruction. Here we describe a modified method, the partial latissimus dorsi muscle flap with vertical incision for immediate implant-based breast reconstruction which has been used at our institution since 2014. Our primary objective is to determine the safety, prognostic benefit, and cosmetic outcome of this surgical procedure.

Non-coding RNAs play essential roles in breast cancer progression by regulating proliferation, differentiation, invasion, and metastasis. However, our understanding of most microRNAs (miRNAs) and long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in breast cancer is still limited. miR-586 has been identified as an important factor in the progression of some types of cancer, but its exact function and relative regulation mechanisms in breast cancer development need to be further investigated.

Glioblastomas (GBM) is the most common primary malignant brain tumor, and radiotherapy plays a critical role in its therapeutic management. Unfortunately, the development of radioresistance is universal. Here, we identified calcium-regulated heat-stable protein 1 (CARHSP1) as a critical driver for radioresistance utilizing genome-wide CRISPR activation screening.

Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a heterogeneous disease and is highly related to immunomodulation. As we know, the most effective approach to treat TNBC so far is still chemotherapy. Chemotherapy can induce immunogenic cell death, release of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), and tumor microenvironment (TME) remodeling; therefore, it will be interesting to investigate the relationship between chemotherapy-induced TME changes and TNBC immunomodulation.

Purpose: Non-response to platinum-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy (non-rNACT) reduces the surgical outcomes of patients with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC). The development of an accurate preoperative method to predict a patient's response to NACT (rNACT) could help surgeons to manage therapeutic intervention in a more appropriate manner.
Patients And Methods: We recruited a total of 341 consecutive patients who underwent platinum-based NACT followed by radical surgery (RS) at the Hubei Cancer Hospital between January 1, 2010 and April 1, 2020.
